Guy calls, tells me to hold, so I do, for SEVEN HOURS!! I had my kids tee ball game to go to and couldn't make it! He said his name was Richard felchman. When he finally got back on the line he told me to call another number, so I did, and that number kept me on hold for another 4 hours. Big waste of time and I lost my job the next day because I spent all night on hold on my phone.

I got ripped off $700 from Benchcraft Company.  Robert Harpham (probably fake name) called me and said that they were designing golf guides for a local golf course - Sunridge Golf Course in Northern Nevada.  He charged me $350 for advertising in one golf course guidebook.  I sent him all the info that I wanted in the ad.  Tyler O'Dell (probably another fake name) called back a couple days later and said he was having a special - 2 years for the price of one at another local course - Genoa Lakes .  I naively agreed to the 2nd offer, also.  I thought I would look them up on the Internet, which I should have done before I ordered, to check if they received any complaints with the Better Business Bureau.  I saw numerous complaints that were filed against the company saying that they keep delaying delivery of the golf course guide and never provide the finished product.  I called back Tyler O'Dell and asked to speak with his manager.  He put me on hold for several minutes and then got back on the phone and tried to disguise his voice as the manager.  I told him that he was pretending to be the manager and I told him that I wanted to cancel the golf guide orders and get a refund.  Then he started calling me all sorts of names.  I reported them, but I don't think anything happened with my complaint.  I just received a call from their number today so they are continuing to try to screw people.  Other numbers include 800-824-8311 ext. 252, 425-293-6919, 503-596-2465, and 503-858-7299.

They also have 28 complaints on file with the Oregon Department of Justice. This company kept taking my sign down (twice) before the end of the contract and out another persons up. Luckily I golf at the course my sign was at or I would have no idea I was paying for something I wasn't getting. I think they know most people don't go check on their signs. I had to call them several times, write letters, and finally after I called the Department of Justice they decided to partially refund me. The reps who answer the phone are really rude and just flat out lie. They told me my sign was faded and that was why it was taken down, I had  picture of the sign the week before in pristine condition.

I am from Canada.  If it is Bench Craft Company trying to sell advertising -  BE CAREFULL. Two years ago, the guy was selling spots (this was for a yardage book for our local golf course) and promised I would have exclusive rights  and the only advertiser in my industry. My Salesman emailed me how things worked and it  stated "Each business is exclusive to their industry to you will be the only insurance professional". Booklet came out and there was another company in my industry the page BEFORE my ad.  I called them and they said that it wasn't stated in the signed "contract" (which it wasn't) so "too bad".   So I Googled  "Benchcraft" and a whole lot of complaints appeared.  Google will bring up "Bench Craft Company scams" "Bench Craft Company complaints", go to "www.complaintboard.com", go to "Ripoff Report", check out
"justice.oregon.gov/complaints" and search "Bench Craft Company" - it is never ending.  I live in a small town and was hearing that fellow advertisers were signed up for different time periods which didn't make sense.   To rub more "salt in my wound", I was not happy with the product.

Yes you are a deaf idiot, if you would have listened more closely you would have noticed the weasel worded expression "calling for" blah blah golf course.  Not "from".  There is a big difference you see, at least in the mind of a degenerate telemarketer.

The Federal government is in the process of closing this boiler room down. Probably why they call you back after you bought advertising on a golf course and offer you 3 or 4 years for the same price as a year.  Taking the money and running.

F****ard did caller ID spoofing just now. My ANI box revealed the real number he was calling from. The spoofed number was to an Oregon business called Sweet Masterpiece (503-221-0055).  This piece of s*** that's spoofing his number, soliciting my services for some golf course project is a child molester.  He can lick my a**.  I hope he gets into a car accident and DIES.

A guy left this number (800) 824-8311 ext 324.  Gave a name & said he had a project for me in my profession (CPA) at a golf club local to me.  The caller ID was a cell phone in another name & another state.  I called that number & the person claimed innocence.

I forgot to mention that, if BC did clean up their ways and worked more honestly in the client's eyes and to my satisfaction (such as sending an ad proof, final product once the ads go into production, and sending over a free scorecard or pamphlet before the golfing season starts) then I would not have a problem with them. I think their business could be run tighter and be much more profitable - it is a great idea, just not executed well.

I really do wish them the best in fixing this - consumer feedback goes a long way and they could definitely put some things into place to fix the image a bit.

I don't find anything terribly wrong with Benchcraft Company, it is just the way they operate and the people they use for client service that tick me off.

1.) The first problem is how they handle credit cards. They don't make you fill out a credit card retention form, so that they can store your credit card on file once they have processed it. They literally write the card number down, I saw it on the copy of the receipt they sent me, in fact, they strategically covered it up on my receipt so I wouldn't notice it. Needless to say, I cancelled the credit card after the first transaction, out of fear that they would charge it again for god knows what.

I brought this up with the rep, who said everything was fine - I told him when I work with larger, more reputable advertisers, like the Little Nickel, they ALWAYS have you fill out a CC retention form if they will be regularly billing your card. Not only this, but if you are billing once over the phone, why are you writing down the card #? Little Nickel bills weekly so retention of the CC# makes sense. These guys do it regardless, even with the 2 year plans I signed up for. Just horrible business practice and incredibly shady.

2.) Their reps are just absolutely horrible. The language they use on this website here (800notes) is just ridiculous and serves them well that they get the horrible reputation they have. Saying they "probably make more money and are more educated" than the BUSINESS OWNERS here are, is probably the most 6th grade sounding comeback I've ever seen to buying consumers. I spoke with a rep before named Tyler, who said something along the lines of, "I'm older than you so I know more", during the transaction process about the CC#. Isn't that something. I'm a young business owner and I'm definitely not the brightest guy - but what kind of conversation is that with a potential long term client?

I WILL NEVER renew my "ads" with Benchcraft and had an incredibly uneasy feeling the first time I purchased ads from them, especially after seeing the horrible BBB rating they have, and the NUMEROUS complaints you can find online for Benchcraft Company.

Just got off the phone with Toby with Benchcraft, his offer wasn't a good fit for us right at this time but might have been next year, after politely but firmly declining he told me it was a one shot deal and that next year the deal would be different- which I said was fine, I might still be interested- He said "nah I don't think you will", curtly "thanked" me for my time and hung up....?! He needs to learn how to handle rejection a little better, when I called him back to decline his offer I would have genuinely considered it next year, but now I wouldn't consider giving him or the company he represents, Benchmark, a dime.

I got a message from Joe (last name I couldn't understand) asking that I call back about Shorecliffs Golfing.
I called back (mistake, but it is a local golf course), "Joe" wasn't available but I did end up with "Paul". Paul was uneducated and quickly became rude when I let him know I was not interested.

This is obviosly some kind of SCAM.

Why isn't there some government regulation on these types of intrusive tactics? We have enough comments here to justify investigation. Somebody needs to help the public here.

This "company" called and flat out lied.  "Zeph" stated that he "worked" for the local golf resort, and that they were looking to do some "remodeling" and wanted to speak to the owners.  "Telemarketers" are getting smarter, but so are the people answering the phone.  Don't call me and say, "Hey, can you grab so-and-so for me".  No, I can't, and won't. You know, sometimes, honesty may get you business BEFORE lying to try to get to the right person.  Sometimes, the "right" person is the one answering the phone.

We live in Agassiz BC, Canada.  Vitaly  x261 called and left a VM offering a business relationship between the local golf course and our massage therapy business.

called the golf course he quoted - they have never heard of him - or the company Bench Craft - we found out he works for when we googled the number he gave us to call back.

I called the number and the guy who answered was such a dick!  I could hear all kinds of other people talking in the back ground on the phones......
