I have been getting calls from this number for about a week now. I called back the first time and I got a machine with options. I hung up.

How do I stop these calls

I answer and it's just dead sound for a couple seconds, then the call ends.

well it's a company that offeres magazine if you get a chance to talk to them tell them not to call you again because i fell for it and i have to cancel my credit card don't do it this a scam!!!!

I filled out just part of a online $500.00 gift card survey, then bailed out of it but after they had my info. Then I got a call the next day, and sure enough I was entered in a million dollar sweepstakes I just had to tell them if I had a credit card and what type it was, as soon I heard that I said no thanks and hung up. And the woman was american, said she was from publishers clearing house.

I have been getting calls from this number.  NO answer. No voicemail.

This number just started calling me today, but when I called back to see who it was, I didn't even get a ringing sound, it disconnected and it automatically hung up. I thought it was weird so then I found this website...so I'm glad to see its not only me. I wonder how they got my cell number thou. I also have been getting harrassed by this 18008543282. They have called me at least fives times a day for the last two weeks. I haven't picked up once because at first I thought it was a credit agencey or something like that, and when I tried to call them back, the same thing happened, I was immediately disconnected. No ringing, no answer, no machine, and certainly no options menu or any clue as to who or what company the number belongs to. Strange.

They have called my cell phone in the last 24hrs....7 times!!! No exaggeration! I just don't answer...but for people who are receiving the calls on their cell phones....block the number. That's the easiest way (if you have that option).

Dang, sure don't know whats up with those responsable for this number as of 08-09-2008 but they have called my cell 8 times, 7 today alone.

I called this number and it is a business that sells magazines.  This is a spam phone call.

So, I got a call from this number today and actually answered it....they knew my name AND address, and claimed I was a finalist in Publishers million dollar sweepstakes in my state! The rest of the conversation went the the same as Mary's on July 16th ("Marshall Robinson" asked my credit card preference, age, marital status, rent/own, monthly income, profession then offered magazines).  I thought they'd obtained my information from some survey website I used recently (as he claimed) but after reading these comments,  guess what....yes, I am with Verizon Wireless too! This is definately a problem!

I WANT TO CHOKE THE MOTHER FUKR !!!   CALLS MY # AT LEAST 4 TIMES A DAY TWICE IN THE MORN. & TWICE IN THE EVENING.

lol i first they called me today and then hung up right when i picked up.
then in the afternoon. they called again. i picked up and said i was one of the finalist of a million dollars i hanged up right after.
im verizon btw.

I get this phone call consistantly during work on my cell phone from Cingular.  Don't know how it is, or what they want all they ever do is hang up as soon as I answer.

i still get the calls, i do not answer them anymore.

Just got a call, didn't answer it. They left a voicemail, but it was just dead air. Dallas, TX, 3:15PM CST

I just got a call from them and immediately they hung up when I picked up. I thought it was weird and googled the number and saw all these sites about this number.

A man called me asking if it was me.... and than hanged up... WEIRD!

yeah i just got a call from this number on 06/21/2008. i was asleep when it rung and went back to bed, so i can't remember whether i answered or not.

call the number back (easiest way is to go on your caller ID and hit send).
you get prompted about your call. Press "1" telling the machine that you are calling because of a phone call you recieved.
Press "1" again to let them know that you are calling from the number they called.
Press "3" to add yourself to their "Do not call" list.
The systems updates about once every 24 hours so don't worry if you get another call within that period. Just stick it out and you should be fine.

this number called me too.. so i research and so surprised now that its not only me who received call from this number

What provider does everyone have? I've never had this problem when I was on Cingular - is Verizon selling our numbers? Mine is a brand new phone and I got this problem immediately.
