These peeps called me at work and left me a message to call them back concerning my automobile. I'm glad I googled the callback number.
Jeneane Kearney called from 800-829-7705 to sell me an extended warranty (5 years or 100k) on my 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. They claimed to handle all Nissan warranties for the U.S. and Canada. I was transferred to the supervisor (because I wanted to do some research and call them back) and that's when I got the "hard sell" which ended with the supervisor telling me off and hanging up on me. Thank you, Clark Howard, for warning me about these kinds of companies!
I just received a similar call on my 2006 Lexus. I told the person that I was not interested so was turned over to a "supervisor" with this strong pitch. This is about the third time I have been called and I am ready to report to the proper authorities. They had me believing that they represented Lexus but I see that they seem to be representing many vehicles.
just got the same call..3 yr 36k extended warranty on my 2000 toyota for $2000. i told 1st guy not interested, he turned me over to his 'supervisor' who then offered down payment plan, $250 to review policy before purchasing the contract. when i said i would gladly review an offer AT NO upfront CHarge.. he abruptly said "thank you very much for your time" & hung up.
I also received a call from these people. Same drill, offering another 100K warranty on my car that has already reached 100K miles. Cost is $2,135, with monthly installments. I have 30 days to review and can cancel prior to that date. I have a friend in the warranty business reviewing the contract right now and I plan to cancel this one with WFS. Will keep you posted on my progress
If you are on the FTC's do-not-call-list, go to the FTC website and file a complaint. Its the only way to stop this type of activity...
I got a call from thi warranty financial services. sttd that they wanted to extend a warranty on my 2005 hyundai elantra. Thing is that I no longer even have this car. So why should i extend the warranty but they wen ton to tell me that it will cost 3yr 36k for 1760.00 or 5 yrs 100k for 2200.00 but if i sign up that it will be only 2135.00 Hello i dont own the car then. got supervisor john on the line he sttd hat the company name is warranty financial services and that this is not a scam. that they are backed by american insurers then they are backed b y capital assurance. (which of course if you google that inof is missing)
wanted to extend my auto warranty also. Would not say the company name.
A man from this number called and asked to speak to my husband. Since he was not home, I asked to take a message and he left this number and the company name of Warranty Financial. I asked what his business concerned. He replied that he was calling about our Scion Xb.
My husband asked me to do a search on the number and I found this website. Thankfully!!
They called me and wanted to extennd the warranty on my 2004 Saturn for another 100,000 MILES for the easy payment plan of only $2,152.00 spread over 12 months. They were very confused when I said I already had an extended warranty to 100,000 kms. The miles / kms really confused the male caller. I mentioned this 3 or 4 times and finally he wanted to know what kilometres were! Sippin too much bad moonshine I think.
This first fellow then turned me over to his supervisor because I was interrupting him asking him difficult questions. They refused to send out any information unless I gave them a credit card number for the first $200 payment which had a 30 day money back guarantee if I didn't like the warranty coverage or whatever.
Not sure how they knew I had a 2004 Saturn Ion as both my dealer and Finance company did not tell them. I doubt they hacked my computer since I have 2 firewalls, spy detectors and lots of virus programs running.
Finance company said they might have accessed my credit bureau records or the provincial securities registration and got the information there as it is public.
I asked for their number and the name of the man. He gave me his name as John Raiseley at 800-829-7705 at Warranty Financial Services. My GM dealer said his Internet search of this number showed it registered to a Web Services company in the state of Maine.
wanted to extend my auto warranty. Would not say the company name.
