HEY ,EVERYONE LIKE YOU I JUST GOT MY NUMBER AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS I HAD THIS NUMBER CALLING ME TOO. I CALLED MY CABLE PROVIDER AND GOT A NUMBER FOR THE DO NOT CALL LIST. FEEL FREE TO CALL IT AND PUT YOUR NUMBER ON IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

I just got a new number and these people keep calling me.  I don't pick up when I see that it says IRL Sweepstakes on the caller ID.  Now, they are calling and leaving no message (as usual) when I'm not home, but on the answering machine there is a loud irratating noise. Are they doing that to harass me for not answering?  I called them back to tell them to stop but there was a voice message saying all circuits were busy. Next time I'm going to answer and blow a whistle into the phone each time they call!!

JUST CHANGED MY PHONE FROM A REGULAR PHONE COMPANY, BECAUSE I WAS GETTING SO MANY CALLS FROM 888 NUMBERS, 062 NUMBER AND 800 NUMBERS EVEN BEING ON THE DO NOT CAll LIST. NOW I HAVE COX CABLE PHONE PROVIDER AND JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM 800-830-9718, AND ANOTHER 888 #. HAVE MY ANSWERING MACHINE ON, NEITHER LEFT MESSAGES, SO HERE IT STARTS AGAIN!!!!

we have a new number(2) weeks, they have called 5 times, we are on the do not call list, I have repeatedly told them not to call this number, they continue to do so

keeps getting this number calling me im disabled and this number keeps calling me so if someone who works there is reading this stop f***ing with me

I just got my phone connected yesterday and they have called my house already...and I KNOW noone has my new number.......I called it back from my work phone just to see who it is and all it says is...please hold for the next avaliable representative.....and then puts you on hold forever....my mother was at my house when they called and they asked for me....then asked for my husband....HA>.....im not married...so I KNOW its a telemarketer!!!

I too signed up for Time Warner digital phone and within 2 days I have been attacked by a multitude of telemarketers.  I did not get the name of this one company but I do have the number from caller ID (800-830-9718).  The name was not provided or I was so furious I failed to listen to it.  I asked on 12/10/08 at 6:03pm, the first call, to be removed from their call list then I hung up.  On 12/11/08 there were 2 more calls from the same number.

i just had my phone installed yesterday morning, today i get home i had 7 calls from 3 different numbers, this one being the third, with no messages left by anyone.. wait a sec.. kewl!!

they just now called again.. it seems that i am in the running for either a new ford explorer or a 25,000 cash prize from publishers clearing house, and i was congratulated on making it this far!!

when i asked how i got entered into their contest, i was told the same thing as other complainants in here "your number was acquired as a part of a list of newly installed numbers in your area"..

i thanked him for their kind consideration in wanting to help a poor soul like me out financially, but as i just had this number installed yesterday, i was a bit befuddled by all this, and as such, i was developing a severe case of "optical-anal irritation"  as i just couldn't "see my a** dealing with the harassment" of undesired and annoying solicitation calls.

i asked him to remove my number, and have a great evening, he responded with an affirmation that my number would be removed, and said goodnight.

This was the rudest call I have ever received. They asked if they could talk to Mr or Mrs (mylastname). I'm single and they mispronounced my name. I said no. They asked why not and I told them "Because I'm on the do not call list and you cannot even pronounce my last name right." She told me "I'm paid by the hour and am not paid to pronounce your name right."

Geesh!

The annoying, unwanted calls continue.  
Four times today (Nov. 12th) I got a call from 800-830-9718 and four times today it was a hang-up with no message left. It is a pain in the butt and they'd better quit, if they don't I have no choice but to report it to the authorities.

Same story. Just got DSL and phone thru Att.  This one had a woman sounding as if she were talking to someone else.  Lasted all of 5 seconds then she hung up.

Looks as if we all been scammed, or attempted to be scammed. I just got my home phone connected ( with DSL ...rural area ) through EMBARQ, and started to recieve calls from VIKING and IRL Sweeps....for crying out loud, they even emailed me....my response to the email : "Yes, you contacted the right guy....when can I expect payment?" Three days have passed.....I keep looking for that huge check in the mailbox as I hold my breath.....still nothing. " ...what do you mean Ed Mc. isn't coming??!!"

Same as many above.  I answered.  They said I was entered in a drawing from random people who recently got new phone service in the area.  (I just got cable phone service about a week ago from Time Warner.  A couple of days after I had it installed, I called to have it unlisted, not because of this, just for my own reasons.  But this number should have been ulisted, or they got it within those first 2 days of installation)  When they asked if I had a credit card, I said I would not reveal that information, and the lady said "have a nice day" and hung up.

We just changed phone providers and only our family and close friends have the new number. In the last 24 hours, I received two calls from 800-830-9718. I called them back after the first call and told them to take us off their call list. They called again this morning. The telemarketer responded to my (second)request with extreme rudeness. She stated that she would not take me off the list and that she had to work and make a living. When I threatened to file a complaint with the Attorney General, she said, "go ahead, I know him better than you." I called Viking Magazines and they categorically denied being affiliated with this number. Is there any legal recourse here?

Same here - I JUST got my digital phone from Time Warner just a few days ago and I'm already getting spam calls!

Just signed up with Time Warner..Boom Telemarketing calls.

I received a number of calls from this 800 number and 515-369-5701 viking magazine. They are the same company. I called the 515 number back and was able to have my number removed from their list. I still had calles the first time I tried to have my # removed but 3rd time was a charm. After the third time I had calls for about 2 days then they stopped calling me. Try it the next time they call then maybe all of us can get some peace and quite from telemarketers!!! It has been about 3wks and no calls.
