I have been harassed constantly by Bureau of Collection Recovery, LLC. They call multiple times throughout the day. They have been harassing my family members, even my ex-husband for over 10 months and calling my work.  This agency is ruthless in trying to collect on a payday loan that I defaulted on. Yes, I owe the money and want to pay it back but not like this. They have threatened me, with being served to go to court, threatened me with possible jail time, check fraud and wage garnishment?.seriously!!!
After two weeks of this harassment from Bureau of Collection Recovery, LLC.  I finally got some help from a company called Consumer Credit Helpers(CCH).  They?re a not for profit organization and never asked me for a dime.  CCH helped me file a complaint with the States Attorney General Office, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and finally the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Next they put me in contact with an attorney, who feels we have a case against Bureau of Collection Recovery LLC   for several FDCPA violations. They were great to talk to, with wonderful advice and information. I recommend anybody getting harassed by Bureau of Collection Recovery LLC,
should take my advice and stand up for your rights!  Call CCH at 1.855.672.1988.

Their number - BCR (800) 831-7311 - just showed up on my caller ID at work.  I never answer calls with numbers or names I don't recognize.  I let it go to voice mail (but shysters like these never leave one) then I look them up online.  I do the same at home because once they get a live person, they don't give up easily.  If all else fails, I block the number at home and I don't think they will call me back at work considering I work at a law firm!

They kept calling me even though I answered a detailed series of questions stating that I didn't even know the party they were looking for.  I went here ...

http://www.stopdebtcollectorsharassment.com/nondebtor.html

and filed a report.  Calls stopped in 2 days.  I got a lawyer at no upfront expense (the lawyer gets paid by the bad guys when the case is settled).
She has filed against them in court.
Do this!   As many as possible need to stand up to these guys!

There is a $17,000 fine for violating the DNC registry. There is also a $17,000 fine for pshing.

I would advice you to stop... There is no Standard Industry Code for debt collection. You are jeopardizing yours and your families valuable time by making these annoying phone calls to people. You are about to be investigated or audited for the amounts you are collecting from the general public.  I would advice you to stop before someone televises you. When our Attorney General's get a hold of these rap sheets on you, be prepared to have your miranda rights read to you. If it is an auto responder you are using, it's about time you stop.  It is illegal to collect debts from a bank.

These people are relentless.  They use several different phone numbers including different area codes.  They ask for a person with my last name and no matter what I tell them it is apparently not enough. Their automation system sends out the 800 numbers.  They start off by stating they are not a collection agency but want to  speak to the person at THIS number who is conducting business. I have called them twice asking they take my name off their list. The first time, I reach a man who said okay.  This last time I was transferred four times and was put on hold for 5 minutes until I became fed up. What do we do with this parasite of a company?

I get calls from these people alot regarding an ATT account that I used to have. In my case I do still owe a bit of money so I called ATT to find out the status of my debt. Turns out it was in fact referred to BCR. Just wanted to throw that info out there. I think there is something shady in their practices but in my case I found out from ATT that they are in fact the collectors on my acct.

1-202-607-2746  These calls are coming from a cell phone with an 800 calling card number in my opinion. This is a Washington D.C. phone number attached to the 800 number.  It comes through on some caller id's as both numbers.  It 952 is a Minnesota prefix.  Always hangs up when you answer the phone.  If the calls become more annoying report them to your Attorney General's office and then to the FTC, and your phone company.

Over the past few weeks this number has been calling constantly, asking for someone I've never heard of.  I try to explain this every time, yet they continue to call, anywhere from 7am to 10pm.  I really have no idea how they got my phone # or why they keep asking for this person, but I finally decided to block them.  Hopefully the block will end it.

Calls several times a day-all week, 7 days, but never leaves message on answering machine. I don't know if there is some law or something but others like GE DO leave a message. It is very frustrating and annoying!
Does anyone know if debt collectors are required to leave a message AND if the are supposed to call Monday thru Friday and only from 8AM to 9PM? I can not seem to get clarification on this. Also, if it is a business is it not REQUIRED that their name show up on caller ID? Curious to know these answers. TIA

Annoyed was correct, it's BCR, Bureau of Collection Recovery doing a skip trace.  The name they were looking for was not someone here so they said they would remove our number from the list.  We'll see if that's true.  The number they called from was (202) 607-2746

I give up on these guys.  My number is a new number and I've told them over and over they have the wrong person.   I just call them back, do not press any keys on the phone pad and just put the head set aside and let there recording play over and over (ALL DAY).   It will run up their bill and maybe they will remove my number some day.

They called me every hour on the hour for almost a month.  After calling them back (from a undetectable phone) every evening for two weeks & being asked to idnetify myself by name, phone # & soc/sec# (which I did not do, since I am unsure who I am actually speaking with), I finally was able to get someone who identified themselves as a collection agency (BCR) and they spoke we me regarding a cell phone account I had 2 years ago, which refused to take payment after 3 months of sending them checks, they sent a check back uncashed & insisted that I show up at a local branch office & tender payment in person.  I did so.  The next day, the cell phone company recorded me as a cash only customer, while I was out of town for a week on business, so my phone was cut.  I called in to have the cell phone company insist I pay a now 2 month due bill, in person, in cash, in my home town.  Since I was 2 states away & could not comply, the cell phone company broke the contact and chaged me a $700 termination fee.  Now they are willing to deal with me through this collection agency for $350 of a bill I originally owed $129 for 1 month, plus another month of $129, which I was never able to use.

All right, here's the deal; like everyone else on here, I began receiving calls, from this number, going on a week and a half ago. With each call, no message was left. Like most sensible people, I typically don't respond to calls if I don't recognize the number. Anyway, after getting another call this morning, I decided I'd had enough. I called and spoke to a woman named Anna and a guy named Jeff. This collection agency is based in Minnesota.
After speaking to Jeff, for about ten minutes, I discovered that Verizon (my previous mobile phone carrier) transferred my delinquent account over to them. He explained that the calls the company make, are "spit out" by a computer, which is why a voicemail message is usually never left. Although I don't necessarily believe this, I told him it made far more sense for a message to be left by an actual person.
I also discovered, care of Anna, that BCR's massive computer system, has feeder phone numbers, which is why I was receiving calls, with 734 area codes (this is the local code for my region) that were connected to BCR.
I'll also say this; for anyone who read this and gets calls from this company, I would strongly encourage to you answer those calls. Whether they're trying to contact you or someone else, you need to advise them if they've reached the right person, verify your phone number and if they have the incorrect contact info, they'll remove it. Whether you loathe collection agencies or not, when the dust settles, they're simply trying to do a job. It's not as if they enjoy contacting people to say, "You owe money, you need to pay up."

Still receiving calls from this number but not as many as before. It used to be 5 - 8 calls a day, now it's more like 2 a day. However BCR has tried a new tactic, they now have a phone number with the same area code as mine. (913) 416-1382 is their new number. I answered that call one day and got a tape recording that said something about BCR. I hung up and now I don't answer any number that I don't recognize. I still get 3-5 calls a day from numbers I don't know but I don't answer any of them and no one leaves a message.
I am very patient BCR, how long will you continue to waste resources trying to contact someone that doesn't owe you anything and has never had a late payment in his life?

I have been getting calls from the (800) 831-7311 for about three weeks now. Usually three or four calls a day. They never leave a message so I never answer or call them back. Recently I started getting calls from (202) 607-2788, usually twice a day from this number. Same deal, no message. Since I don't know anyone in DC I don't answer those either.
After reading all these posts I noticed a common thread of people with T-Mobile accounts. I also use T-mobile but I don't owe them(or anyone else) any money. So I wonder if BCR is getting our info from T-Mobile for some reason.

Just answer the phone and tell them that you are 13 years old and they clearly have the wrong number. If you avoid the phonecall, they will continue to call you.

These people call and ask for anybody with a single initial first name and a last name of the person they  are looking for without any validation of you being that person. So, if you are listed as M Moore, then these idiots will call that name if they are looking for a Mary Moore and then they have the balls to ask me who I am after they call my house, using my time and ask me who I am? Are they stupid or what? You are not calling me at my house to ask me who I am, like yeah, these people think people are really stupid enough to tell a perfect stranger calling my house and I am going to tell you who I am.You might get away with this in your foreign country but not in America. LOLOLOLOL. I will call the police and make a report just for harassment because your  dialing the wrong frigging number. Then the dumb b*tch was foreign with some stupid accent to top it off.. This is harrassment and against the law. Stupidity is against the law, speak english and press 1 if your stupid
