they are just asking if you have a question about a recent order. That isn't spam, you placed an order so they can call. If it bothers you, just call and they will not call again

A lot of companies - including CIGNA - manage their mass callings (agents returning calls, pharmacy returning calls, calls about policy renewals) through a computerized dialer system (found this out when I asked CIGNA directly when I got a call from a number I didn't recognize but knew that CIGNA was supposed to return a call) and so this is why you may sometimes receive legitimate phone calls from similar but different phone numbers.

OF COURSE it is possible that it is a scammer calling, but if you ARE a member of whatever company is calling you, a few polite inquiries ought to clear it up.

If you want to be certain, only give out your CIGNA ID; they/agents should only ever need that and maybe a confirmation of birth date to make sure you are authorized to place an order/confirm an order, etc (they ask me because I am authorized to place and manage orders for another family member for example).

Hope this helps.

Event Reminder
A family member uses the Home Delivery service for CIGNA's pharmacy and this was a reminder that a medication needed refills.

This is a VERY routine thing for us and we otherwise never receive any 'junk' phone calls from CIGNA.

For those of you scratching your heads:

1) Telephone numbers for many major medical departments (health insurance updates, mail order pharmaceuticals, appointments for an HMO organization like Kaiser, etc) often are rerouted/go through a dialer routing system and no longer come from a set phone number.  This is why you will see 1-800 etc numbers you don't recognize on caller ID.  Just because caller ID doesn't show doesn't mean it's illegitimate.

2)  If you are a CIGNA member in particular, you may receive reminders/notices: for pharmaceuticals if you use the mail order system, related to recent health exams you might have had (you have asthma for example and they might call to ask how well it is being managed), reminders of renewals of health insurance policies, etc.

3)  If you shopped for insurance before through some kind of online marketplace or through a broker and otherwise don't have CIGNA, it is likely they are calling to see if you might be interested in a CIGNA policy.  Please tell them to stop bothering you if this is the case.

4)  If none of these things apply to you and you get phone calls related to home delivery pharmacy, someone (current CIGNA customer) might have provided a wrong phone number (very easy to do) or otherwise incorrect information.  Yes, I have been asked to confirm an order before and in my case, verifying CIGNA ID was all that was needed and birth date. When dealing with insurance to make sure they have the right person on the line for privacy/HIPAA reasons, birth date, address, information are oftentimes needed to verify.  If they absolutely need SSN, then I would be wary.  If the person at the other end of the line has nothing to do with CIGNA, then it's time to hang up.

Hi folks,

I do have Cigna.  I don't believe these calls are scam or phishing.  However, I will say that they are massively f(*&$%# up.  They us SS numbers as subscriber ID numbers.  It's a joke.  And, there is even worse ramifications than there messed up database.

My company assigns employee ID numbers as our Cigna subscriber number.  Each time I call customer service, they say "Oh, some other family's name is coming up with that number."  They ask me to read my customer ID off my subscriber benefits card, and I do -- the employee number.  They continue to insists it's my SS number.

Some pimp or bi*** is probably making some beaucoup bucks salary for being completely incompetent and unable to run an IT department or business unit.

And the beat goes on....

1-800-835-3784 claims to be the Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy. IT IS NOT! The REAL Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy number is 800-285-4812. Do not call the scammers back; definitely do not give any personal information over the phone.

The Cigna Tel Drug number of 800-835-3784 is a legit number and business -- it's the mail order pharmacy division of Cigna which is an insurance company. I believe you don't need to have Cigna insurance to use the service. You can order 90-day supplies of drugs cheaper than month-to-month refills at your local pharmacy. Make sure you compare costs.

A lot of the calls folks get are for refill reminders, benefit notifications (if your health insurance is CIGNA), and calls about orders or needing more information. If you are getting calls and you don't want them, you can opt out by talking with customer service. Some folks get calls because of mistakes in their or other members' phone records.

I use this service and can vouch for them being a legit business.

It's really annoying when your phone rings at 8 AM, you're still asleep, and it's SIGNA. I just wish them cheap bastages would pay to have their friggin' identity show up on my phone. All I see is an 800 number on my caller ID, I assume it's a telemarketer.

Regarding : 800-835-3784

I do have CIGNA and would appreciate the message others received but they just called and hung up before the message machine picked up....duuuu . Something backwards there, them leaving the notices on people's phones who don't use their service and calling but not leaving the messages on people whom DO use their services' phones....  way to sarcastic to be working at a pharmacy service. I wonder why the caller ID Doesn't say "CIGNA", it has in the past...hmmmm

This is not spam - they are providing a service to make sure you keep current with your meds!   They only call their own customers - thus not spam.  They are just trying to keep you healthy.

Received call but was dead on the line.  I do use Cigna prescription refill so it could have been them.  Will wait for the call-back.  Since the number they call is my work # and I don't give # out, I am pretty certain it is legitimate.

From Cigna's website (I would call this number is you want to get your name removed:)  "To order prescriptions through Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy: 1.800.285.4812"

When I follow up on these robo-calls they are never sure why they called or whether the call was about my husband or me.  Also, reputable business practice is to identify the business name on the caller id.  They first need to fix that, and second need to be able to tell you why they called.  I think it is usually to encourage/remind about a refill.  If it were only that we would opt out, but they say it can also be a call if something is wrong about an rx request.

Got a call from 800-835-3784, caller id Tel Drug Pharm and when i answered silence on the other end.  I then called them back, recording asked me for either my account number or Social Security number (red flag) and could not get through to speak to a live person.  Sounds phishy to me since I don't have any account/service with them.

This number is for Cigna Healthcare. They do not make unsolicited calls. They are not trying to sell you something. If you receive a call from them it is because they are your healthcare provider or pharmacy and they are letting you know that a prescription is coming or that you may need a refill or something else like that. It is a courtesy call for which you should be thankful. It is not a scam.

As others have stated, this is just CIGNA calling to inform you of the status of an Rx.  Though they were rather slow calling me, the automated message said someone in my household recently filled an Rx and that it should arrive shortly....hello....I got it 3 days ago....

Hi Dan:  Same thing. They called me one night and asked for my birth date.  I was wrong to give it to them as I have no known KNOWN prescriptions.  Then when I  called back they asked for my ss#.  With those 2 items they can steal your life away.   So I did not give  my ss# to them. Seems they would have that from my Dr. if it were not a scam?  I think it is a scam.  Raine

....... it's just Cigna letting us know that they have shipped a prescription as ordered.  Some of you folks need to lighten up a bit.  Some of us might want to know when a prescription has been shipped so we will know when to look for it to arrive; approx. one week.

If this is Cigna, then the caller ID should reflect it.  Instead caller ID only says, "UNAVAILABLE."

If CIGNA, or anyone else is calling me and their name does not come through, and I don't recognize the phone number, then I will not answer it. Anyway, whatever happened to a real person calling?  I detest automated calls with no real person on the other end!!!

Common courtesy is for them to show their name.

Also we do not get stateaments from CIGNA, so I have no way to contat them.

These calls are from Cigna's mail order prescription branch.  I only receive calls from this number after ordering a prescription to be filled.  Once they've filled my prescription and mailed it, they call to let me know.

If you have insurance and prescriptions through Cigna, then call the number on your statements and give them your account number or ID instead of your SS#.  Its not a big deal.  If you don't have Cigna coverage, then call them and tell them they must have a wrong phone number.  Also, not a big deal.  How do you expect legitimate businesses to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner if they can't use all the technology available to them to serve you in the best way possible (phone, emial, etc.)?

"Left a message stating that our drug prescription was being mailed and would require signature upon delivery in 2 days."  Well, of course we don't have any prescriptions coming so when we called the number back the first thing it asked for was our social security number... scam?

If you have Cigna healthcare, just call them and tell them to take your name off the call list, Most likely they are callingbecause you have recently been prescribed a new prescription.
