The same thing happened to me! Tried to cancel my earthlink account was given a "free" month, then money taken out of my account. My card finally expired and they came trolling for more money. I said cancel my account. Sent them a check for the remainder. I know they got it because I have a cancelled check from the bank. These guys are a front for the church of scientology so beware! Don't give them any account numbers!

not sure what company this is as far as I can tell it is just an annoyance call...they never leave VMs there is no one there when I answer or it is a VM/ computer saying they are asking for some person that I dont know and if I am not that person to press 7 to have my number removed...press 7 and nothing happens no one there no elevator music nothing and then after a few mins it hangs up. this company seem to have several different phone numbers as I have gotten the same message/call/whatever from several different numbers always comes up with the phone number and unknown name on the caller ID.

I received several call from this number saying I owe a bill. The information says it is December 15th and today is March 20th. The call asked me to call back on Tuesday December 16th. Does not give name of company, only the 800-836-3570 number.

I received a call and they are calling for a person. It's hard to figure out the right name because its a computerized voice but I think it is someone working at my husband's office. Even if that person owes money sure as hell I am not calling anyone back or even let the employee or my husband know! They just going for the embarrassement factor and want other people to do their dirty work. People should pay their bills, however calling friends, co-workers etc. is no way to collect anything. What a bunch of bleep-holes.

I got the same call message saying I owe money...what a lie. They call themselves EOCCA. They are just a bunch of scam artist. The way they leave their message makes you call back and then they try to get personal information from you. Now when they call I just take the phone into the bathroom with me after I had a large spicey mexican lunch. I can now give them all the personal info they want. hehehehe

I received a call on Sunday morning about 9am.  I owe no one.  It did bother me however that they knew my name and it was part of the message.

Whoever this is has called four times today and they a message and phone number to call back, but nobody ever answers the number they leave.  I'm getting tired of this robo call s**t.  There is no accountability and AT&T is about as helpful as a bucket full of holes.

i keep receiving calls from these people saying if i don't hang up then i am the person they are looking for,. I owe no one  and am verysick. the calls come all times of the day and today it was a few minutes and he knew my name  and wanted me to give him information and i told him i would tell him nothing, i do not know who he is and to stop calling.  He said he will call me continually and i told him i would give him no answers.  I also told him i was very sick to stop calling this number but he said no he would call again in 3 days. please help me. i have ms,ava,narcolpy,excuse the spelling , hepc which has caused me to now be in stage3 part 2 of fibrosis and the next step is scerosis of the liver, i also have diabetis,heart problems and gastropareses. what do i do . he says he is calling from eocca. and will not stop

Have tried calling them back several times. Including immediately after they called me. Never any answer, phone just rings and rings and rings. If I stay on the line long enough I get a messages saying welcome to volume mail. Please enter the number you are calling. If you have a box on the system and wish to check it please enter it now followed by the pound sign. so i entered the number that called me. A second message told me that it was not a valid phone number for their system and to try again.

I have several problems with this number continuing to call.

1) When I pick up, nobody answers.
2) If it goes to voice mail, they leave a very long message of background noise only.
3) They call sometimes at 7 am in the morning and sometimes at 10 pm at night.
4) They call multiple times a day. One day I got 23 calls from them.
5) They call a number on the do not call list.
6) They are calling my cell phone.
7) when I called my phone company to do a reverse look up, they told me it was a unpublished private number.
8) There robo system does not disengage when I answer and hang up, I can pick up the phone 30 seconds later and still get there voice message going on and on.
9) The couple times a live person has answered, they do not state who they are or who they are calling in representation, and when asked have immediately hung up.
10) Have requested to have my number removed more than 30 times now in the last two weeks, yet they still call.

Don't know who this could be. I don't owe EarthLink anything, and since it's an unpublished number and they do not identify who they are. i can not say.

Another damn debt collector!

We cancelled with Earthlink over two years ago and they now have a collection company calling us!  We cancelled with them over the phone, sent a letter of cancellation and finally had to cancel the debit card they had on file.  Stay away from Earthlink - they are nuts!!!!

I have the same experience. Earthlink failed to cancel my account, kept billing me month after month, then, when I finally got them to stop, tried to tack on another month to the bill AFTER cancellation. I laughed it off, and they immediately passed it on to CCA, which has been auto-calling to get their $19. Probably I will end up paying them just to make them stop, so I guess they can call it a "victory." I certainly will advise people not to sign for earthlink under ANY circumstances. What a sad, desperate company... My mistake not to have looked up all the complaints about them before signing up.

Multiple messages left on answering machine -- at least 10 to 15.  Says only that "this is December 15th" and I must return call by end of day on December 16th.  Since it's April, this is obviously some sort of scam or hoax. I just want the calls to stop.  If this is a collection agency connected to Earthlink, as another reporting site indicated, I've had no connection to them.

"Me too." They've been auto-dialing on and off for two years despite the fact that I'm in the Do Not Call registry. Best I can figure is that the prior holder of my phone number has a bad debt. However, when I did call to tell them their phone calls were legally actionable and that they should stop, they started demanding enough information from me that I began to suspect they were actually an identity-theft ring rather than a collection agency.

If anyone knows Lucy Entsweme (guessing at spelling from their voice-synth message), tell her to pay her bill.

these people are a pain the the a**.  do not call them back. if its urgent a live person will talk too you.   i've had 6 call already and dont let your curiosity get the better of you.

receiving calls from this phone # and the message is constant and annoying; i havent any outstanding debt and the date/time of the phone call is incongruent to the date and time that the canned msg speaks of

I kept getting calls from this number as well.. So I finally picked up and they asked for my husband. I wouldnt let them talk to him so I took down thier "info".. only numbers and I asked what this company was, she said it was for a business opportunity for my husband and she didnt want to talk to me about it.. I called back later to ask what her company did and I got a very rude person, saying thier company did alot of things.. and she never would tell me what CCA was or why they would call us. She asked for my phone number and I said I would not give out my number until she told me what this "company" was about or the services they provided. She was quite rude and hung up on me. We are not late on any bills...  So, we still dont know why they are calling constantly. I looked up this company on the BBB and they are not affiliated with them.. this company is also had over 185 complaints in 3 years and 88 in the last 3 months.. so that tells you something about them..

Been calling my home asking for somebody else.  I have asked them to stop to no avail.  I called them back it is CCA collections. I asked for their address so I could file complaint with the FTC, collection agent said it would do no good to file a complaint said she didnt like my attitude and hung up. What a bunch of jerks, no consideration for people....

Earth link calls me...I don't owe them a f****ng thing. It is a confusing link with embarq and earthlink since I had no choice but to switch companies.
Earth link is no longer available to this area, but the harassing calls are.

SB, I have the SAME EXACT PROBLEM with Earthlink!!! It is the WORST company I've EVER dealt with, hands down!!! I cancelled my account with them over six months ago, yet they keep sending bills. I have sent them all sorts of proof that the account is cancelled, yet they keep harrassing me. Contacting their customer service reps is pointless, I've been cursed at and dealt with in an incredibly rude and hostile manner by these people, most of whom have very heavy, almost indecipherable accents. Now they've evidently contacted a collections agency. What can we do about this HORRIBLE company?? If anyone has any suggestions, please let us know. Thanks.

A  woman called my mother's house and asked for my phone number. She said that she was a business associate of mine and told my mom that she has "heard so much about you." That's a little creepy to say the least. It is possible that this is a collection agency for Earthlink. I cancelled my account in July and was told that a qualified for 1 months service for free. At the end of my "free month" I received another call from Earthlink advising that my payment was late. I explained to them that I had cancelled my service in July. They did not have that in their records so I was transferred to another CS Rep and cancelled my account AGAIN. They still didn't cancel it. Probably just another ploy to squeeze every last dime they can get out of people.

We have been getting calls from this #, saying urgent to call back about this important matter, thanks for the other posts.  We haven't made any late payments.  I would like for this company to stop calling us.

This is CCA, it is a collections agency.  
I know Earthlink hires them to do their collections.  
Unfortunately I had to deal with them directly regarding a past due work account.  I had no idea our manager was sitting on the invoices and Earthlink not once called to see why we were not paying.  It went 3 months past due before CCA started calling.  
The good thing was, for the first time I called them back, they cut the bill completely in half and settled.  CCA automatically marks the overdue amount up by 20%.  Then they cut the entire owed amount in half.  If you can put up with their rude, no personality employees, you may save quite a bit of money on your current overdue amount.

Called, wanted me to call back about account number 34864949 (had to replay three times to validate)

They called simultaneously on my home number (caller ID) plus my cell phone and left voicemails that I need to call them back.  I have ignored these calls since I know I filed BK but creditors can't harrass me.  They call me on Sundays, Sunday afternoon, Saturdays and evenings.  I tried calling these people back finally today to identify them and the phone number rings and rings and rings, no answer.
