I'm trying to determine who this number belongs to?

If they are calling your cell phone, this is how I deal with unwanted callers. I don't have Roger's call blocking, and don't know if they offer it for cell customers, but this works great:

Store the number as you usually would, in your phone directory. I put an "!" in front, the something like "scammer" or "hosebag" to describe the call (different names as they move up the level of annoyance).
Next I set the ring type to silent.

Done!

When they next call from that number, my cell doesn't wring, and I only get a short beep, after the call, to let me know a call has come in. I just clear the notification and never have to deal with them at all.

They just called from 800 837 9531 and I reported it to phone busters, scam artists.

This number has been calling me everyday even more then once a day for awhile! I haven't picked it up because it's my cell! It's one thing to recieve stupid phone calls at your house, I'm used to that, but on my cell which is with me everywhere I go. I also tried calling it back from my house phone and it says we're sorry this number is not in service as well. Sooo annoying!

I have been getting calls from this same number everyday several times a day.  Those idiots always hang up. I call back and get number is not in service. No information on the web either as to who they are.  What a bunch of juvenile, immature a**es.  The number does not come up on call display so I am not able to screen the call to not answer.

This time report to you local police and ask them to trace, phone busters are not able to do anything about, FBI and federal police should get involved, report to federal police if you receive them with a faxed complaints. Minimum 3 times a day.

1800 837 9531 calls everyday. No answer when I pick up. When I called the number back, operator says the number is not in service. Very annoying!

I just contacted MBNA at 1-800-404-1319 and asked them to remove me from their calling list.  I was guaranteed it was removed but also told it takes 60 days for the calls to completely stop.

I don't understand how in this age of technology it will take 60 days to remove me from their list.  Can't one click of the mouse do that?!?!  

I'll never get a credit card from MBNA.

this stupid number has been calling me on my cell every day for a couple weeks... I haven't even bothered to call it back because I dont have time to waste on these idiots... obviously if it was something of interest they would leave a message... if I am available I will answer it the next time they call and give them a piece of my mind for all of us

I get calls from them twice a day every day (I have 2 phone lines).  Today I held on the line until someone picked it up (about 30 seconds) then I asked to be added to their do not call list.  We'll see if it works.

Many calls, approx at the same time, on my fax line, and after that, a report is printed with the mention "No fax". Weird, this number is not even in service!!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one.  Canada 411 sent me to this site.  They call many many times a day.

Surely there is something that can be done harassment wise?

Having been fed up with telemarketer calls all day long, I finally let the answering-machine take this one - but it stopped ringing after only 3 rings (machine answers on the 4th). Concerned it was someone who knew us, I checked the last call, only to get this number - (800)837-9531. Honestly, these people get you either way! But interesting there's nothing on the line when people answer - i'm getting too many calls like that these days.

oui, on m'appelle 4 fois par jour à ce numéro, et il n'y a jamais de call back possible. heureuse de voir que je snusi pas seule dans cette situation. est-ce de la fraude, ce téléphone? quelqu'un sait ce qu'il en est?

This caller is pestering me several times a week - and this has been going on for more than two weeks.  They just don't get it - I don't want to discuss MBNA's junk account offers...

How can we revenge ourselves on these nuisances ?

Someone keeps calling me from this number and when I tried calling back it says the number is not in service.

I get this same call about 2-2 times a day everyday/all hours. I answer, no one talks, and I tried calling it back to see what it was, and I get a message that the number is not in service. I am going to call my phone company. I think it is harassment. I want them to STOP.

I've just been called by them for the first time, but it's already getting on my nerves! See, I work the night shift at a factory and I go to bed at 2 in the morning, so I don't really enjoy receiving this kind of phone call at 10 am!

Je viens tout juste de recevoir un appel de leur part, et ça m'énerve déjà! Vouz voyez, c'est parce que je travaille de nuit dans une usine et que je vais au lit à 2 heures du mat, donc je n'aime pas vraiment recevoir un appel de ce genre à 10 heures du mat!

called my cell phone today for the first name, he told me i was someone else and lived somewhere and asked me to confirm it, when i said i wasn't HIM he had the wrong number, he told me i was HIM... then asked for my new adress. told him i didn't know it and hung up. how does he get the numbers? :S

I hope this number follows the No Contact list the government has in place, and that I registered my phone number to.  I will have to wait and see and if the calls continue after November, then they are in BIG Trouble!!!

Got three calls from this number today..

We've received a call from this number from somebody saying he is Vern from MBNA. He asked for our friend (who doesn't live here).
When I've called back, the recording says :"This number is no longer in service". I hope something is going to be done about this very annoying phone calls.
