This was from sprint, and when I returned it, I received a recording selling me a data plan.  Specifically, the recording said:  "we called you with an important message regarding data charges on your current bill. . .when using data services without a plan, charges are based on the amount you use. . .we would like to make you aware that all sprint data plans are less than $25 per month."

Got a call from a telaphone number identifying itself only as 6727.  No 3 digit area code at all just came up on my phone as 6727 asking if I was some company.  I said no then they hung up.

I have recieved 2 calls 1- yesterday at about 3:30pm, and another today at 3:30pm from 800-839-6727. I did not answer, there was no message left, when I called back from a land line phone all I get is a beeping sound usually associated with a number not in working order, or disconnected. I am a sprint customer and these 2 calls did come into my cell phone. Not sure what it is about, but any information is appreciated!

It's not a scam.  This is an automated call from Sprint.  The generated voice informs you that you have incurred a data charge.  (if you surfed for a new ringer, wallpaper, or anything else using the internet on your phone, you racked up data charges)  You do NOT need to have a data plan to incur data charges.  The message is actually kind of nice.  They're just educating you that it's cheaper to have the $25/month plan if your going to surf as opposed to racking up charges due to the amount of time you surf.

Received a call on my cell phone last night, no voice mail left.  I received a call again on my cell phone and answered it accidently, but hung up.  If it is in fact Sprint, they need to get their act together.  They are constantly billing for services that you have already paid for.  Don't know if it is legit or not, but I don't normally answer 800 numbers on the landline or cell phone unless I'm expecting a call from one.  I registered my cell phones and my landline on do not call list, but that doesn't stop all of the calls.

I got a call from this number last night.  I called sprint customer service about it this morning, and the lady I spoke with seemed very confused.  She put me on hold and tried to call the number herself.  When she got back on the line with me, she said it just kept asking her to enter the number of the phone I got the call on.  At no time did it give her the option to speak to a representative.  She said she "thinks" it has to do with sprint switching over from an old billing system to a new billing system.  I'm keeping a record of all these calls and conversations just in case this is a scam and somebody out there is up to no good with our cell phone numbers.

Rec'd call from this number, didn't answer, they left no voice mail.  I called it back, it IS in fact Sprint, letting you know that data charges were applied to your bill and that you do not have a data plan.  It goes on to tell you that data plans ARE available for $25.00 and up.  I think this is legitimate.  I used data yesterday and never have before, got the call today.  I used text to landline yesterday.  This is a real sprint number.

Recently received a call from this number, about 20 minutes ago...typically I don't answer numbers in which I do not already have a registry saved in my phone, as I don't like to deal with potentially irritating people that I'm not affiliated with; I was slightly curious, as I often am about random phone calls, and well...here I am, haha. As fas as I'm concerned, no message = not too important.

This is BS...no name, no message, nothing...I used to get blank calls from other numbers but this is a new one as of today. As a Sprint customer (and with so many of these posts discussing that numbers are often identified as Sprint-related) I have to wonder if Sprint has infact sold my number off. The kicker here is that I am registered on the DO NOT CALL registry.

My husband got a call from this number, and when he answered there was a computer generated message regarding a charge for some data usage which wasn't a part of his contract. The message ended with the option of pressing "1" to learn more about the data usage. When my husband pressed "1", there was a message stating that the request could not be completed, followed by a listing of business hours (which are wrong). I double-checked the automated bill online, and there are NO data usage charges or any other strange charges assessed to the account. This is a scam, ladies and gentlemen. Should you receive a call from this number, I strongly suggest that you report it to Sprint immediately. Once they are alerted, they can monitor your account for any strange activity.
