Received in US MAIL today a "check" redeemable from FIRST BANK of PORT CANAVERAL, FL for a 8 day & 7 night cruise for 2 on Carnival OR Norwegian OR Royal Caribbean including airfare - just pay Taxes & Port Fees.   I searched the net for this company & city, but found nothing.  HOWEVER, I searched the phone number on the mailer (800-843-2104) and found this website with "scam notices" way back to 2012.   It was NOT mailed to my current home address, but to a prior home that we still own as a rental ... shows they're using a 5+ year old mailing list for their scam!

I got the same thing - I've been selected to stay at an Indoor Waterpark with 4 passes. Call within 48 hours and get a $100.00 Restauant dining card. This is BULL. I wish the people pulling these scams would be put in jail. People are being tired of being scammed and lied to about everything. Nothing is for free.

Letter came today "Congratulations! Our promotional department shows that you have been selected to receive a Complimentary stay at an Indoor WaterPark of Your Choice in Williamsburg, VA for up to 3 days and 2 nights including WaterPark passes for 4 guests. (package Retail Value $650-$850) Our records indicate that by responding within 48 hours you will also receive a $100.00 Restaurant dining card. Please reference your check voucher number IMS300RIC. Call 800-843-2104 Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 12pm."

There was also a "check" which was adorned by an "authorized signature" that came perforated to tear away.
Address on the "check" is: 12830 W Creek Pkwy Richmond VA 23238. A quick google search brings up a company called Direct Buy of Richmond (with a D+ rating from BBB). So more than likely this is a scam run by manipulative people preying on others of lesser intelligence.

They sure get around.  Now it's Northstar Leisure, Inc. 1141 Paloma Drive, Suite 424, Floresville, Texas 78114.  They can run, but can't hide (especially when they don't change telephone #'s)

I feel it is important for we who receive this type of mail report it for the safety of the unaware who are curious enough to check out the possibility of deception and obvious fraud. What a waste of time!!!

My daughter just received same "Indoor Water Park Voucher Enclosed" announcement in the mail.  Same offers: 3 day/2 night stay with Waterpark Passes for 4 guests in the Poconos or Williamsburg.  Also included the $100 restaurant dining card.  My wife and I took advantage of a similar offer to travel to San Antonio, hotel stay, etc....   the sales spiel was very very hard sell - before you could get the voucher validated.  The sales person even resorted to "how can you pass up on these condos - my wife and children will go without eating if I don't sell these."   Give me a break!  Sure it could be a free vacation but the sales pitch is very hard core.

Paper is cheesey not something a company like Carnival would send out. Just for curiosity sake I decided to check it out on line. Also, I had just gotten a call from another similarly named cruise line a few days earlier and told them I'd never heard of them and I wasn't interested. I guess they figured if I got a Carnival offer that I recognized, I would let my guard down.  Times are too tough. I'm lucky if I have two nickels to rub together these days. Sorry Scammers. Hit the road!

Got my scam letter today.  I've gotten them in the past, but it was always for a free cruise, or for some Airline that doesn't even exist, so they were obviously fake.  This time, I still didn't really trust it, but it was for a local waterpark resort.  To be exact, it was for a 3 night and 2 day stay at "Wilderness Indoor Waterpark Resort" located in Sevierville, TN.  Not at all far from where I'm from (Knoxville).  I did a search for the 800# and it brought me here.

So my guess is, these guys  are getting more creative, and making some of the destinations closer to your home so it will appear legit.  They even put a local address on the voucher, whish looks like a check.

Anyway, just toss it in the trash...

I got the same offer in the mail today for Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg (and also good for Poconos).  I never stayed at a GW Lodge, so i know i do not have a credit card history with them.

I am thinking of sending this to GW Lodge home office to let them know how their name is being used.

This same phone number is listed on a letter I received from "Royal Caribbean International" stating I have been "selected to receive an 8 Day/7Night Cruise for 2* aboard Royal Caribbean International" and is an "exciting offer valued at $1,429.00!"  To redeem I must call the number below (800-843-2104) and if I call within 48 hours I will also get 2 roundtrip airfares.  How would they know I am calling within 48 hours?  But wait, it gets better....on the back of the "check", there is a statement that reads "This offer is not sponsored by or an authorized agent of Royal Caribbean International.  BEWARE.  If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam to get your money!

I received a letter which provides 800-843-2104 as the contact phone number however, the promotional department did not list which company or facility that they were promoting.  The letter states that I have been selected to receive a complimentary stay at "an" indoor water park of my choice in the Poconos for 3 days and 2 nights including water park passes for 4 guests with an added 100.00 restaurant dining card.  AAAAnd Of course this is my final notice... It looks very similar to the free airline ticket to anywhere in the U.S. bulldoney that I received a few months ago.  I simply wish that there was a way to prevent these people from putting this waste in my mailbox.

It's unfortunate that there are people who are not equipped to comprehend that this is some sort of a scam.  I certainly do wish that I was equipped to stop these leaches who prey on people!  GRRRRRR

My award notification states that we will receive 2 round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continental US from any major international US airport. But the voucher must be certified to be valid. They have been attempting to contact us many times.  I am home every day, since I work here.  No one has attempted me offering airline tickets.  My reference claim number is IMS200BLU.  My tickets are worth $1,399.  The presort standard US postage paid is from Albany NY with permit #164.  Just wanted to let people know of course this is a scam.  Not even attempting to call and get on someone's list to call with many other scams.  Rip up and throw away.

Not a scam? Come on, why they send this junk again and again? Sometimes fily tickets, sometimes dinning tickets, sometimes free vacation. What the hell they do? I got this junk mail over two years, I knew where they got our information, they set up a table and put a brand new car for prize, hook up people who want sign up a form to win. My wife did that, since that time we got this junk mail again and again. Don't be silly, don't sign up.

I got a letter with a voucher attached to it.  Letter said that I had been selected to receive 8 days /7 nights to either the Bahamas or Mexico.  When I called to find out the details they tried to be excited in saying "Well congratulations!" blah blah blah.  When asked to give more details on it I was told that it was from Sedona Pines Resort and Highland Resort and that there was a criteria to meet.  50,000 + per year or 40,000. + per year plus a major credit card.  After touring the resort and going through the presentation and upon meeting the qualifications, do you get your said "Prize".  I told them I was not interested and hung up.  Lame!  Who does that?  "Oh hey!  Here's a trip for you and a friend all expenses paid but first you have to buy a timeshare....Oh....haha did I mention you could have bought that trip on your own and wouldn't have to worry about all this added BS I am throwing in your face?  Oh and sir, while your handing over your credit card to us....that would be a good time to just you go ahead and bend over while I blow more smoke up your A$$."  Omg have to crack up at the idiocy of it all. hahahahahaaaaaa

The fact that people are on the do-not-call list does indeed make this suspect. If they were legit, they would honor the DNC.

It's not a scam (they're not intending to steal from you) but it is quid-pro-quo. They give you amazing free stuff, you listen to a sales pitch.

If you think you can resist a sales pitch, it amounts to a free vacation.
