i received a letter today day and calls ------bonnie palmer died in dec. of last year in her home so you need to contact social securty on news paper for her death please stop writing and calling me  i have nothing to do with it       ref. id. p10773105---thgank you

called my cell phone saying there were  Federal Loan Servicing Center in Harrisburg, VA and left the same 800- 852-1181.   Hard to understand as spoke with heavy foreign accent.   Best I could understand was verifying my brother-in-law's address.   I said I would have to check with them first and that they move around a lot.    I dont trust these types of calls.  Could be collections or bounty hunters or someone else unscrupulous.   No thanks

Received several voice messages, one concerning a "Barbara" and one concerning an "Elaine" asking me to call back to verify their information and my information.  I graduated from college in 1964 and never had a student loan.  I have a relative named Barbara but she finished school in 1984 with no student loans I know about.  I have never known anyone named Elaine.  None of these would be of interest as a reference to a student loan.  I wish these stupid people would leave us alone.  I wish we would have a destruct button on there telephone but I suppose they'd just use another phone number.

I will never call back a number without for information.  It is annoying to get these kind of calls.

I have been getting calls from this number and I know I am a reference for a former friend's financial aid. It wouldn't suprise me if she isn't making her payments, and I have gotten letters asking to confirm her information. However, I cannot confirm it because she is a friend I have fallen out of contact with so I guess this just falls under the category of annoying. Oh well!

Jam is correct this call is from the Federal Student Loan office. They call your number if it is listed as a reference on a Student Loan application. However, to avoid ID Theft they will not indicate this on a voice mail. They will only tell you they are the Federal Student Loan office when you answer the phone and verify it is your phone number and address. Then they will ask you to verify the person who listed you as a reference on the Student Loan Application. So it is safe to call them back and if there is any doubt, ask them to give you their regular office phone number (717-720-1580)

caller id 717-720-1580 left message stating to call 800-521-1181....found out that this is a financial aid office and someone must have used me as a reference. It's safe to call them back.
