Penn Foster, is not a scam. They are a for profit online school but they are legit.

Maybe someone put your number down as their call back number by mistake

They've been calling me 2-3 times a day! Last one was just a few minutes ago and it's almost 9 PM! I've never answered, but I just blocked their number through my Verizon Wireless account. Hope this'll end it!

It's for Penn Foster E-College. If you sign up for more information, they send you like, 1 e-mail and a million calls!

Yeah, it's Penn Foster.....I've talked to them I bet 1/2 dozen times....each time I have asked to have my number removed from their calling list......yet they still call.....EVERY DAY!!!!!

This number called me. This person left a message of him/her breathing. It was so annoying. For 2:59 minutes, all I heard was that person breathing. Lol

They continue to call me even though I am on the "Do Not Call" list

May I suggest that if you get a call from 800-856-9635 you visit the Penn Foster College website and use the live chat on it's home page to let them know how you feel about their bot calling system, and ask to be removed from their list. If enough people will do this them maybe they will stop it.

As I understand the "DO NOT CALL LIST" it only applies to telephone number recieved from the credit bureaus. Any other number lists collected by any other means are not protected or prohibited.

I have gotten 2 calls from this number in the last 20 minutes. I want these calls to stop immediately. I answer the phone and there is complete silence.

I just got a call from this number and had just signed up for info from Penn Foster, but I checked the "contact me via email" box not the call me one. So idiotic - why even bother to ask if you'll just do it anyway?

Robo-caller for educational services. I suggest that these criminals do some studying of their own - in particular, the do not call list. Caller ID says "TOLL FREE CALL."

Yep. It is. I just enrolled, and as soon as I enrolled there, they sent me email spam (like, "sign up for a class!" right after I just did.) and have been calling everyday. A little slow on the uptake, I guess. Afraid to tell them, 'cause there is nothing worse than a pissed off telemarketer (who already has a less than ideal job)

Penn Foster called me and left a message claiming that I'd made an inquiry. Neither I nor anyone at my number had. If you get a call from them, go to their contact page and send them an email letting them know how you feel about getting calls like this. Here is the web page to send them an email:

I asked for info on Penn Foster - as in a brochure or something? I did NOT ask to be called *every single day* ever after. It's been about a week now, definitely one call every day, sometimes two. I never answer 800 numbers, but it always leaves a message about their number. The thing is, the recording's beginning is cut off, so you don't know who it's from! It's so annoying!

Its penn foster college, if you wanted more info on this school they make u enter ur phone number, just call them back and say that u dont want them to call you anymore, otherwise they will keepcalling you.

This is annoying because when you answer the phone there's noone on and if it goes to voice mail they never leave a message.

Yes! The bot called me about 10 minutes after I requested information from Penn Foster's website. Gotta give them credit for being so prompt!

It would be nice if they just sent information by email or US mail. I dont want to talk to anyone until I research and have my own questions.

Definitely Penn Foster. I asked for information on their website and they called me ridiculously fast. Like, moments after I navigated away from the site. Gotta be a call bot, no entrance counselor calls you back that fast.

gosh ppl chill out those of you that are getting upset.  No reason to go to JAG and get legal on them.  You provided them with your contact info therefore the DNC reg does not apply to them.  That only applies if they are calling you with out being provided your number by you!
