Simple matter for any cell phone. Label this caller "Ignore" or something similar and assign that caller a nice (or objectionable) ring tone.  That way next time they call you just let it ring thru to voicemail. Note: make sure your voicemail message has no personally identifiable info - a short and sweet message is always best anyway.  Eventually they will quit calling. I've found this  to be a somewhat satisfying way to handle these things.

Caller was rude, asked for Delbert. There is no delbert at my number nor has there been for 10 years. The caller expected me to go through a series of questions in order to remove me from the call list. When I refused he threatened to call back every day until we do.

Rachel called from this number for a family member.  I took a message and she gave me that number plus a reference # and when I asked her what company she said UCB like I knew what that was or something.  Whatever. . . stupid people can't find any honest jobs.

you want a little payback. keep calling one of their toll free main office numbers.they have to pay for the call and you can hassel the receptionist with some of the same tactics. google UCB collections for a fine selection.

The reason they request your social security number is to search for your file and verify your identity, If they are asking for you that means your social security # is in their database already and it is a quick method to pull up your file, if you are not in the system nothing will come up under your ss#..., again the information is already there, this is just a query... now if you feel that uncomfortable with it ask the rep to look up your file using your name and address however you must remember that if your address is incorrect in the system and/or you have a common name this mat not be a feasable option to look up your file with too many results, also the file may be looked up using the # being called to contact you, however if there is more than one number that feeds into the line being called it may not be feasable either, it sounds to me that maybe the rep exhausted efforts to find the file to remove the number and when the only surefire lookup method (ss#) is refused the reps hands are tied

again, the do not call list has nothing to do with bill collections, it is a tool used to stop solicitations, and if you owe money it is not a solicitation.... also asking who you are is a method used to verify identity of the debtor, also used to protect consumer privacy. It is illegal to disclose the nature of the call to a third party

privacy manager is a tool used to stop telemarketers, not bill collectors... it is not a solicitation if you owe the money, do not call list are the same, they are tools used to stop telemarketing calls wich are very different from collection calls.

I keep receiving pages on an alphanumeric pager listing the phone number 800-867-3214.  My pager is used exclusively to contact me as a member of a Hazardous Materials Response Team and other members of the team are getting the same page.  I have called UCB repeatedly and they say that they cannot correct the error unless I give them my Social Security Number.  The EMA Director has called repeatedly and even spoke to the company president, but the pages keep coming in.  These people are idiots.  The county attorney is looking into it now though.  Maybe he can take care of it.

I received 10 calls over the last week from "out of area" .the calls went to voice mail. They left three messages. The first one involved a lot of sreaming. The second and third one said it was "so and so" from ucb call them back at 800 867 3214. I called the number. Someone answered. I told them I was on the do not call list. They asked for my number. I asked who they were. They asked who I was. I asked who they were. I told them I am reporting them. They said how can you report them when their caller ID is not on the phone. I told them I'm reporting their 800 number.
I confirmed that they are a collection agency. They are trying to collect Verizon accounts. I talked to Verizon and registered my complaint.

I received a call from UCB on 10/17/07 and again on 10/18/07.  The same person, Jennifer, called me and said she it was an important business matter, though she mumbled her message so quickly that I nearly missed it.  I had to listen repeatedly with the volume cranked up to hear what she was saying.  She left a file number and the toll-free number.  From what I saw on someone else's web complaint on another site, this is probably the collection agency that Verizon uses.  I terminated my service after two months of frustration and overcharges and then a different company (Inphonic Inc.) emailed me and said that since I didn't keep up my service agreement for two years, they (in addition to Verizon!) were charging me for the "discounts" I received, like getting a free phone with new phone service.  I terminated my account months ago with no word from them, now suddenly they're bitching at me.  They want $250 for "discounts" received and Verizon also wants $250.  I am sick of the hassles.  I am on the Do Not Call list too!  They were blocked through Privacy Manager I have with AT & T but still left a message when I was not home.

Rec'd answering machine message from Jennifer of UCB for my ex-husband referencing a case number and this same 800 number.  I called the 800 number and gave same lady the case number and she wanted to speak to my ex.  Told her he didn't live here and she wanted to know how to reach him.  Told her he was incarcerated and she asked for how long.  Told her then she entered that in her computer and I asked if this was a credit call and she said No and hung up.
