I got 3 calls from 800-869-3557 within an hour.  The caller ID said Wells Fargo Bank but I'm not a customer and have never even called them for information.  I did call the number after looking online and seeing that it's the actual number for Wells Fargo but, they couldn't tell me why I would have been called.  it's easy for scammers to fake the displayed phone ID information so, I don't trust that Wells Fargo is really calling me.

Wells Fargo fraud, calling to tell me that some idiot "compromised" my debit card in the last 30 days and they are sending me a new one. When I asked where my card information was stolen, they said they are unable to tell me that. I do not shop at target, Neiman Marcus or Michaels...and I do not use my card online.

Just got this call today, thought it was fishy. I didn't call the # back, I called the # on the back of my debit card. Turns out the call is legit and they are indeed sending me a new card (even though mine doesn't expire for another 2 years) due to recent data hacking incidents (such as Target recently). I haven't gotten the card yet but was told by Wells Fargo it's on the way. Just to be safe, always contact the bank through the # on the back of your debit card.

Called three times this morning starting at 4:35 am.  Do not hear ringing because am asleep.  Caller ID says Wells Fargo.  WF says not them and cannot do anything about someone else phishing for personal information.  I say that is baloney.  If WF cannot determine who is using their phone number then I do not want to do business with them anymore.  Am switching my accounts to another bank.  They cannot tell me that they don't have a security division that could investigate this b.s.

It's called....oh nevermind. You apparently know everything, but it is obvious you ha. awe, nevermind.  If you have an account with WF, try to use it once per year, and here is something for you, next time you open an account with any bank, actually READ what you are signing.

I feel so refreshed.

I used to work for Wells Fargo Unclaimed Property. I needed to be polite. Now that I no longer work there, I feel free to speak my mind.  You people are idiots.  Do you actually believe money can sit in a bank account for 1, 2,5, or 1 thousand years?  Did a parent open an account for you?  Do you have a mortgage with Wells Fargo that gave you a better rate if you opened an account?  Did Wells Fargo purchase another bank that had money that belonged to you?  Do you know the name of the planet you inhabit?  Call the freakin number, or let the money go to the state- abandoned.

I just got a call from this number. I actually work for Wells Fargo in the Customer Service Department. This person actually said that they were from the customer service department. He told me that some company was trying to deposit money into my account and when I told him that I know for sure that Wells Fargo does not make out going calls from the customer service department he proceeded to cuss and me and hang up. Just beware this is fraud. Please do not give any of your personal information out. THIS IS A SCAM!!!! I have already contacted the bank and if you get a call from this number please call the bank immediately. I have no idea how they are using the wells fargo customer service number this is crazy.

I received a call from 1-800-869-3557. I originally didn't answer and when I called back they said they were from the Wells Fargo fraud department. It sounded like it was someone from overseas. They asked me to confirm the last three numbers on the back of my card, my billing zip code and the last four of my social. I told them I wasn't comfortable giving out that information and I would call in. When I called in to Wells Fargo using the number on the back of my card, I spoke with a representatvie that confirmed this was indeed Wells Fargo and they were calling to verify a recent charge. I had purchased two paintings from a company in the UK so it set off their alert. This is a legitimate number.

This is a scam.  Incredibly easy to spoof the caller's number - can buy $10 gadgets that do it.  Anyone calling and asking for financial details over the phone isn't legit.  So you nimrods who think this is legit need to stop being so ridiculously clueless.

Received e-mails 3 days in a row that my account information was updated and to call this number if I had questions.  I reported (online) to Phishing at Wells Fargo because I have a mortgage account but never setup anything online with them.  On the 3rd day, I called this number,  they wanted by social security number to RESEARCH by account.  When I asked to be transfered to mortgage department, I was disconnected.

This company is a BIG FRAUD!! Anyone with Wells Fargo should look into their account to make sure that they are not being scammed.  I've banked with Wells Fargo for over 9 years.  This Travelers Advantage/Triligient has been deducting money from my account for almost 4 years. I signed up with Wells Fargo's Identity Theft Protection program and Travelers Advantage back in 2008.  In 2009, called to cancel the membership with the Travelers Advantage. They stopped taking money from my account for a few months and then they started taking money from my account again and I never even noticed.  I thought the money being deducted was for the identity protection so I didn't even question it.  In November 2012, I got a call from the Wells Fargo Fraud Dept to check my account so I looked into my account and saw 2 transactions and questioned Wells Fargo with it. They then told me that Travelers Advantage has been deducting money from my account monthly.  when I looked into my account, they've been deducting money from my account monthly for the last few years. When I filed a claim with Wells Fargo about this company, I was told that I have to cancel the membership with travel company first so I did that and called them to file a claim again. Then Wells Fargo and the traveling company told me that there's nothing they can do for me. They said that they can't return my money for me because I just cancelled the membership and that I had authorized it years ago. WTF!! I spend 60 minutes arguing with them on the phone and apparently I just can't get my money back regardless of what I say to them. I called and spoke to Wells Fargo's Resolution Specialist and was told they'll only give me one months payment back and that they are very sorry.  yea right they are sorry for selling their customers money.  I'm so angry with Wells Fargo for allowing this to happen to their customers and they won't even do anything to protect their customers money either.  I have 3 accounts with them and will be taking it elsewhere.  I may be out hundreds of dollars($15.99 a month for 4 years) but they've lost a very good customer and her accounts! I will also make sure all my family and friends don't bank with them either! BEWARE!!

They called me last night at 10:34 pm.  I do not have a wells fargo account of any kind.  So they have no reason to call me.  I am filing a complaint with the fcc. This crap is ridiculous. I would not bank with them if they were the only bank in the world. Different friends and relatives have and they all regretted it.

Missed call: +18008693557 6/17/12 4:38 AM 9 hours ago

It's an excellent time to call me.

When a voice on the 'phone says "This is [your bank or a company with whom I do business]?, I always ask ?What's my account number?? ?I don't have that.? ?At what branch is my account?? ?I don't have that information.? ?What information do you have about me?? ?Your name and telephone number.? ?That's not enough. You're not my [bank or a company with whom I do business]? and hang up.

Recorded message confirming receipt of my new debit card. Didn't ask for anything, only reminded me to activate my new card. Not a scam for me, they didn't ask for any information and only referred me to the 800 number on my new card.

If this is a legitimate call for official business, why do they call several times a day,
hang up and never leave an appropriate message for why they have called.  I treat them like any other solicitor, ignore!!!!
Normally when an official business call is received from a banking institution,
they are much more professional.

Had a phone interview for a position at Wells Fargo at 1pm and received a call from this number at 1 on the dot.  There were a few seconds of dead air while I repeated "Hello?" and then the call ended.  I called back and was routed to the WF customer service queue. If this is indeed a legit number, it's a bad look for the HR department if anyone is trying to get back in touch for an interview.

Supposedly calling me from Wells Fargo about an issue  of fraud on our business account.  Said I didn't know of any issue.  They started backpedaling fast. They'd have to check with our business banker.  (We don't have one!) I asked what the fraud involved.  They backpedaled faster.  Sounded fishy. I'm getting in touch with Wells Fargo about this.

Received the email alert described above.  Do not have a Wells Fargo account and never did.  Curious as to how my email address was found.  Although I do a very limited amount of tranactions online this email suggests a legitimate source has been breached or a firm is selling addresses carelessly.   The only recent release of my email was to FITCH Ratings, a bond rating company.    I plan to pursue aggressively with any potential sources of my info.  I will NOT be responding to email or calling any numbers listed therein.
