I was getting regular phone calls from an 800#, which I normally didnt answer.  Finally answered, but nobody was on the line.  This must have triggered the $29.99 charge to my business checking account.

They did reverse my charges and gave me a refund.  So make sure you call them and argue the charges.

I also got this fraud charge on 11/20/08 without authorizing it.  Regions said to contact the phone number and tell them it was incorrect.  And dispute an invalid echeck I would have to sign an affid. in person.  I called this 800 number and after several rings a very nice person answered, I gave her the ref number and she pulled up my info.  I told her it was a fraud and that no order was placed, she said she'd cancel the subscription and contact the company to have them refund my money in 7 to 10 days.  We'll see.

I just got off the phone with the FBI.  He advised me to go to
http://www.ic3.gov

and fill out a report.  He also took my information down, so it will be entered  into the system.  If enough people report this, the FBI will open an investigation.

They *are* very interested in this, they just cannot act without sufficient cause, and $40.00 isn't sufficient.  HOWEVER - if they see a pattern, or indication that this is wide-spread, they WILL act.  So please take a few moments to fill out a report.

I have seen several other references about the Mary K connection. I think the issue might be from a site called ProPay. They are a popular payment processor for home businesses like Mary K and Beauticontrol cosmetics. My wife used to sell Beauticontrol and she used ProPay to process customer credit cards. I did some searching and haven't really found anything on this connection other than several victims were former reps of Mary K and Beauticontrol.

Update:
Update:  Just got off the phone with MK Legal.  Propay is next.  Mary Kay did suggest that Blizzard Entertainment was the common denominator.  I don't think it is - Blizzard is the company that does World of Warcraft.  When I first talked to the lady, she said
"Oh, I don't think it's us.  We have over 700,000 consultants."
so when she said that about Blizzard, I said
"Well, they have over 7 MILLION subscribers.  Furthermore, they process the payment as Visa transaction.  They don't have, and never have had, my account number or routing number."
Her:  "But the card's linked to your account."
Me:  "But they CREATED A CHECK."

Grrr.  Anyway, please keep me posted if you hear or find out anything.

Had $29.95 fraudulently charged to my checking account on 11/26/2008 by MB Pink Home Ent. Service without my knowledge or consent. When called the 1-800 number, was told it was for an "adult Website". The person who answered the phone was helpful and said the website membership would be cancelled and charges reversed "in a couple of days". However, this person "clammed-up" when I tried to confirm the fraudulent address that was on my bank statement (I've never lived in Griffin, GA) and I mentioned taking legal action. I have no idea how these people got my bank account number - but it's very alarming. Am filing a fraud report with my bank and the FTC.

I was fraudulently charged 39.99 by this company also, my bank is taking care of it, but what a pain! I never used this account anywhere but paypal and propay. Just wondering if anyone else used these services, the Mary Kay post got me thinking...i used to sell Creative memories..does mary kay use propay for credit card processing?? You have to wonder how much money these scammers have gotten. Oh and to add insult to injury, when I called the # on the echeck, the rep pretended she couldn't hear me when I asked what company this was..said I was "breaking up" i was on my HOME PHONE!!!! Grrr!!

This is a copy paste from another site, but on this company.  I got charged $39.95 and after MUCH digging the following came to my attention:

----------
It's come to my attention that possibly the loose link, if you will, came from Mary Kay. I sold Mary Kay a few years ago, and it was under my maiden name. Is that true of anyone else (that you sold Mary Kay)? Please feel free to email me - amvictory@gmail.com

Update: I'm on the phone with Mary Kay's Legal Department. If you were a member of Mary Kay, I urge you to contact them, as they actually have the size to possibly do something about it. Their legal department's number is:

I am another victim; I am from northern Maine.  I was charged $39.99, which also caused my checking account to bounce.  I am positive I didn't purchase anything; I keep very precise records of all my transactions.  Luckily, my bank refunded me the money the day after I notified them about this.  I am also changing my account numbers, which is a hassle.

This is a minor form of identity theft.  I read an article in a magazine a number of years ago about one the world's worst identity thieves.  He stole millions of dollars from companies and people over a number of years, all while living in the basement of his parents' home.

One of his techniques was to take old checks from companies and people and alter them to make them look legitimate.  Then he would simply enter in any dollar amount he wanted, sometimes even thousands and millions of dollars.  He would look through the list of the world's wealthiest people, which is published in Forbes magazine and other places, for ideas of who to steal from.  He would find out personal information by placing phone calls to customer service and pretending he lost or forgot the info he wanted.

He was eventually caught by the FBI and sent to prison for a very long time.  It went on for many years, though, before he was caught.

Scary stuff.  I don't even think that anybody got their money back.  He put most of it in offshore accounts under other identities.

The banks really should do a better job of policing and preventing this.  They shouldn't just accept any check; the checks should be compared to other checks as part of the clearing process, among other things.

Also, if you have any old checks that haven't been cashed, don't just throw them away, be sure to tear them up or shred them.

Your bank told you wrong.  I just had the same thing happen to my checking account for $34.95.  The financial institution had me sign an affidavit that I did not authorize the electronic check.  They said once they process this through the federal reserve my account will be credited and that would take 5-7 business days.  Yes, you should close your account and open another one.

Good Luck!

I will add myself to the long list of vitims. Today I noticed a charge for $39.99 that I didn't recognize. I called my bank & they gave me the 800 number & the ref number. I called & got right through unlike others who have said it took them forever to talk to someone. I was told my money would be refunded within 7-10 days. They also told me to call my bank & report fraudulent activity. I called the bank (Sun Trust) but there is a 10 minute wait LOL! I decided to research "MB Pink Ent" first to make sure it wasn't something I bought & forgot about. After seeing all of the complaints, I'm now positive that this is not something I purchased.

I'm not going to hold my breath for the refund. I'm more concerned with wondering if this will be a one time thing or if I should close my account. Good luck to all of the other victims!

I got hit with a charge for $39.95 today.  The electronic check that was sent had a last name and address that I haven't used for about 4 years.  Just went to bank and canceled my account and had to reopen another one.  Thanks goobers....

Same thing happened to me.  On 11/4/08, there was a check posted for 24.99 from payment systems w/ this 800 # and ref # attached.  It had some long check # and my old home address.  I too have had the same response when I called the # and ref #.  Now I am not so sure I will get a refund. My bank also suggested that I close out my account and open a new one.  Such a pain!!

We had a fradulant change from them also.  I noticed it this morning and called the number that was on the scanned "echeck".  It was Pink Home Ent Company.  After finally getting through the phone number, she told me that they would issue a refund and that it would take 7-10 days.  She stated that it was a charge for a website subscription.  From reading the other posts it looks like it may be an adult website.
My bank is having me fill out an affidavit and they will get my money back.  The problem is that someone needs to stop them.  What they are doing is illegal.  Has anyone filed a police report?

I also was victim of the scam (U$ 39.99);  I live in Fl and the "check" had my name spelled correctly; all the bottom info such as routing & account number were right, except for the check numebr.  I still cannot believe  Bank of America would pay for a check that has a wrong address and NO SIGNATURE!  Does that mean that tehy will py any other scam that will deposit a check either electronically  or in a branch???

I too had a fraudalent charge of 39.99 on my bank account.  The echeck also had an old address of more than a year old. Lastly, the check number was ridiculously erroneous.  It was something like 28,582.  There no way in hell I have written that many checks.  Where the checks in my position are only at 800.   I called the number on the echeck and asked what this charge was.  They stated that this was for some kind of website, and they did not know what type of site.  They offered to refund my money, but I felt if this could happen without me knowing for such a small amount.  Whose to say that it won't happen again but for a larger amount, or more frequent. I informed my bank, and they suggested closing the account, and they refunded my money.  What an inconvenience!

It would appear that yet another Georgia resident has fallen victim to the above company and their fraudulent activity.

On Oct 15th a sum of $39.99 was taken, via e-check, from our Bank Of America account without authorisation.

Bank of America are not totally blameless as I am baffled as to why this payment was ever processed due to the fact that;
a) the cheque numbers do not correspond with our check books
b) the name of the account on the cheque is a year old - it was changed nearly a year ago
c) the address on the check is 5 months old, our account address was changed back in May

I have contacted MB Pink Home Ent on tel; 1-800-876-0930 and spoke with Wendy in customer service to be told that, if this payment was not authorised, then the monies will be repaid within the next 7-10 working days.
She was unable to provide me with any more information than the fact that this payment was for a monthly subscription of an adult website......website address unknown to them so they could not tell me.

Beware of these payments which is nothing less than stealing.

No one in the house took a call from this number at any time, but I have seen the number on my ID but I never answer "out of area" or "unavailable" numbers.  If someone wants to talk to me, then they better be willing to identify themselves or no go.  When my bank statement came, there was a charge for $24.95 on it.  I called the number on my statement and it turned out to be the one listed above.  Supposedly they will issue a refund.  We'll see.  I never heard of this company before.  We did not talk to anyone at this number.  I only know the name of the company because it was on my bank statement.

Today, I also recieved a fraudulent charge from this company. The woman who we talked to on the phone at that same number said they only process the transactions for the company that we paid and that it would take 6-10 business days to get with them and to contact our bank and have them dispute it. Which i did prior to calling the phone number on the check.

I found a charge on my account on 10/21 for $24.99. I called the number and they told me they are a third party but money was taken by MB home entertainment. I have never heard of these people and have no idea how they got my bank details. Like many others it was a telephone check they used to take the money. I called my bank (bank of america) they opened a fraud and refunded me the money. I am now having to open a new account with a new number to stop them taking anymore. Can anyone tell me if they have ever had more than one charge from these people?
