They called today warning that a "tax lien" had been filed against me.

It's a scam. No such lien was filed.

If you receive a call from these jokers, hang up and block their number immediately.

Received a call asking for the owner.  I took the call.  Gentleman introduced himself as Gregg Channing a tax attorney calling to help out with the tax lein filed against my business.  He didn't have any real info except our name, a dollar amount and date filed.  I was not aware of any problems nor was my accountant.  I checked with the county clerks office and there was nothing filed with them.  How do people get away with this?  I hope others wise up and do a little fact checking before believing these types of phone calls.  What a waste of my time.

This is a total lie.  I used to work there and there are so many horrifically rude and crude telemarketers at 20/20.  They are a horrible bunch and the managers and owners are totally aware of this behavior.  The managers and owners are just as rude!

Their business model is a QUOTA sytem to bill existing clients additional money while intentionally not doing anything.

This number is owned by 20/20 Tax Resolution, Broomfield, CO.  I went to the trouble to research all of these types of companies.  Names, addresses, google research, BBB research, and in some cases supreme court research.  Thousands of people hire these companies every month.  I tried to be as impartial as I could, ?just the facts.?  Some of them have multiple locations, and some of them have multiple names in the same location.  14 Linked reviews for all the companies are at the bottom of the article.

If you want to read the article, google ?20/20 Tax Resolution 800notes? and scroll through the results until you see:  irsbacktaxhelp.wordpress.com and click, might be on the second page of results.  It will help spread the word.

Got a call from Richard O'Brien. He has called every day for the past 5 days.  Have told him every time we are dealing with our situation. He is very rude.  I called back and spoke with his supervisor, Rob. Was very nice and said would get to the bottom of it. Supposedly all calls are recorded and would deal with it.

Yep...that's the number.  This guy just all of a sudden calls out of the blue saying that he's got good news about a tax problem.  He left a message on the voice mail system - professional and cordial - but I didn't know who it was, I didn't solicit a call from him and didn't want to deal with him.

He hasn't done anything really offensive yet, but I'm sure that's coming.

Some woman left a message claiming she was calling on behalf of Verizon Wireless. She sounded as if she was laughing while leaving the message. Deleted the message. If I wanted to check my calling plan, I'd go to the Verizon website, local store or call Verizon myself. I don't care if it is actually Verizon or not, I don't accept telemarketing calls. Even from companies I do business with.

I got a call from Amy Sheldon at this number, ext. 109, also promising good news on a state tax matter if I just call her back.  I'm always leary of anyone with good news about a tax matter (especially when I have no pending tax matters) whom I never sought out in the first place.  After reading all this stuff, I can see that this is one of those scare you into calling and then try to sell you something types of companies.

Nearly every day for the past week I've received a call from a woman at 20/20 Financial.  She asks for the owner, who is never in, and leaves a message to call her back because she has "good news regarding a state tax matter!".  Today she asked for my name and I gave her my alias "Sarah Biatchi" so when she calls back we will know we don't want to talk to her. The woman is quite snobby and persistent.

Victor James said he was from 2020, indicating he was local and mentioned a local company that the accountant in my office prepares taxes for, when we called back, it was a sales pitch and very misleading.  If they call again, I will report them to the FCC as well.  Victor James extension is 138

I informed him that the owner was not available and he said " you mean, he is not there?, seriously its very important" I replied with " no he is unavailable." So then he asked for the owners cell phone number!!! I thought to myself "are you kdding me?". These are some odd folks!
