This *IS* a scam. Have you not read my long post near the top of page 1?

I am reporting this to my bank fraud department as soon as it opens, this appears to be a scam and my money has been debited from my account. I am a disabled veteran, I was told I would receive a card within 10 business days to use for buying clothing and grocery. There was 99.00 taken from my account, these scammers should be put before a firing squad, or do hard labor.

The Gov does not "let" EPC run their scam anymore than the Gov "lets" the sun shine.

kevin called from from this number 775-886-5413 employers insurance/ he represents express platinum card/ web site www.myepccard.co, he had my bank info I did not apply for a credit card told him at this point I would need to read disclosures and terms and investigate before I would authorize for a payment to activate card.
I tried to call him later to tell him and say no way was I interested .nobody answers customer service it just goes to voicemail the number he gave me to call was 800-887-2636

I too received a call from this express platinum card company. I tried to apply for a loan and then received a call from them. I wasnt surprised that they new my info because I was looking for lenders but was skeptical because NOBODY gets anything for free. After asking a hundred questions I accepted. Sigh! Did I make a mistake!? There is a website. I'm worried now because this is not a card that is affiliated with any company (visa, MasterCard, am.exp., ect.). How would I be able to use such a card when most if not all stores just take major credit cards? The $99 fee is due to be withdrawn on 2/3/12. I have yet to try and call but will try emidiately. THIS REALLY SUCKS!!! I'm trying so hard to repair my life financially.

A legit credit card charges the activation fee to the card and cardholders never have to pay it up front with cash. It is legal to sell shopping cards that can only be used at a few websites or catalogs but it is ILLEGAL to describe these cards as "credit" cards because they are NOT credit cards. If the EPC was described as a "credit" card when you were called, call your bank, report the fraud, ask for your money back and replace your account.
anonymous 2012-01-25 19:58:43 Unknown
The BBB report lists another number 877-536-0076 -- have you tried this? If you can't get your money back, call your bank, report the fraud, ask for your money back and replace your account.

YES I RECIEVED SUCH CALL, AND WHEN I CALLED TO CANCEL THEY SAID YES BUT YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK, SO THEY GET TO KEEP MY MONEY AND I GET NOTHING. THEY LED ME TO BELIEVE IT WAS A REGULAR UNSECURED CREDIT CARD WITH 5,500 CREDIT LIMIT.
nevadarobert 2012-01-23 22:56:26 Unknown
This a total scam, never gave permission, never received e-mail to confirm o r deny the phone call, never received mail confirmation as requested. Just 99.00 taken out of my bank. Called back on the phone number on my cell phone and # was not in service
anonymous 2012-01-18 09:23:27 Unknown
Have you posted your bank account details anywhere recently like on a loan application?
anonymous 2012-01-18 09:20:55 Unknown
Kathy Echard is a lying scammer shill. Target does *NOT* take the card, the FAQ page on their website says so.

The Express Platinum Card has an F=FAIL rating with the BBB http://www.bbb.org/southern-nevada/business-r ... son-nv-90010648 with 43 complaints against it.
Express Platinum Card in Henderson, NV does not appear to have a Nevada business license. I searched for "express pl" and 7 licenses ranging from Express Plaza LLC to Rainbow Express Plaza LLC showed up but there is nothing for Express Platinum Card. Any company operating in any state without a business license is a fake company. Anyone is welcome to search here http://nvsos.gov/sosentitysearch/corpsearch.aspx for Nevada business licenses.
Their website expressplatinumcard.com http://www.who.is/whois/expressplatinumcard.com/ is registered to a domain proxy by an owner who doesn't want to be found. A domain proxy is a "front" company that registers websites on behalf of their real owners so the real owners can remain hidden from public view.
Stay far away from the Express Platinum Card.

"WHAT GOOD IS THE BBB WHEN WON'T HELP US" is a false supposition. The BBB cannot help even if it wants to because it is a private rating agency without police powers. Re. "LOOK WHO PAYS THEM" PEOPLE LIKE PLATINUM &OTHER COMPANY LIKE THEM," the Express Platinum Card has not paid a fee to join the BBB and is not BBB accredited. The EPC has an F=FAIL rating with the BBB http://www.bbb.org/southern-nevada/business-r ... son-nv-90010648 with 43 complaints against it. Call your bank, report the fraud, ask for your money back and replace your account.

Posters report they had applied for an online loan, then received the call followed by $99 taken from their account suggesting bank info was taken from the loan application. Check your accounts often, at least for a few weeks. If money is taken, contact your bank immediately.

I got a call too the other day. A woman told me the exact same thing. I told her that I did not have the money right now and asked if I could call back when I have the money. She simply replied that that was an outgoing call system only and she would have to call me back. I did not go into detail with her about anything so I am unsure of them knowing my bank account information.
anonymous 2012-01-14 22:22:22 Unknown
If you did not authorize the charge, tell your bank this is fraud and not a billing error, ask your bank to get your money back and replace your bank account.
