yeah its happening all the time to us too. silence when we answer, and disconnected if we call back. this web page is just fine for finding that its happening to others too, but there are no real answers as to what it is or what to do about it. if its happening to us, it must be happening to millions of others who dont post on here. why isn't there more in the news about this and what can be done about it? I'm going to call the better business beurau and maybe even the FBI. This isn't cool, come on... 18 calls in 12 minutes and nobody knows anything about it or how to stop it? Some would call it criminal harassment, this is rediculous!

This number calls me at least 6 times a day, no one on the other line. Call back and get msg "all circuits are busy".  This is harrassment... making a formal complaint with the DTE and FCC.

Guys, these are Republicans calling you.  They're desperate, and the scare tactics they've been using aren't working, so they've resorted to using voluntary phone numbers that we put down when we registered to vote.  Your state (and mine) has SOLD your phone number to them, and that's why you're getting called.  The Do Not Call list does NOT work on political calls like these.  Unless you have a way to block them from calling you (check with your own phone company, this might involve a fee to do so), they have every right to keep on calling your number, so long as they use your time and phone number to contact you regarding political issues.  Nothing you can do, other than hang up on them.

These calls are still going on!   My husband and I have been getting them for at least 2 months.  If you pick up the phone, there's just dead air.  Then as soon as you hang up they call again.  Heck, they call back again even when we don't pick up, which is most of the time now!

I received a call from this number today. I didnt pick up or call back.  After reading this board I remembered that  I applied for free tickets in NJ -(Obama is coming to Jersey to support Gov. Corzine)  I included my number on the form.  My guess is that the number is stored in a public database and is made avaialable to all political candidates and the entire world for that matter.

These calls are not coming from the Christie Campaign, they number is actually from an AFL-CIO affiliate in Missouri

In NJ, this is Chris Cristie for Governor, [christiefornj.com] seeking votes for the primary earlier in June 2009. Guess what? I did NOT vote for him!!! Expect more of these calls since the bum won the republican primary. These calls come to my home business phone, incurring charges on my phone bill for minutes used message units.

I am sending a registered letter to this bum & 1) informing him that, should I get a single call from him or his b***h, I will NOT vote for him!!
2) I maintain a log of these calls, & will activate call trace, & file police report for harrassment.
3) will sue in small claims court, see how good his lawyering skills are!

Have gotten several calls from this number in the last few days.  Nobody there.  When I call back, a man (recording) says all reps are busy, call back later.  After seeing & reading this sight, I at least know I am not the only one getting these calls.  Still doesn't make me happy.

They called again from 8008879187 its from the Alabama Republican Party asking who I would vote for, when I said Democrats they got pissed off, I need to somehow block them

Spoke to a female who said she was from new England Market Research. Asked "If the republican primary were held today, who would you vote for?" and followed it up with a few more questions about how likely, and what was the most important issues on my mind.

It seems from scanning these forums this is (usually) a conservative phone-marketing research organization. I just got a call from the Oil/Energy lobby urging me to call my reps to sway their votes from supporting a tax bill vs. the oil industry --- my response was of this nature: the oil industry just had record win-falls of money earned the past 2-6 years. There's nobody better to help pay our country's bills at this point in time.

My wife and I get calls everyday from this number. We answer the phone and no one answers. I try to call the number back and the number will not go through.
