Same thing happened with all of these, they called and informed me purchases were made on my account from across the country from where I am. Not sure if this really happened but the apparently froze my card. I didn't give them my SSN number, just some basic info to confirm it was me. Will update as i find out more

I notified my bank before traveling to avoid getting a call like this. After receiving this call I contacted my bank and they said the travel notice WAS on my account so they wouldn't have called me. They confirmed the last few transactions I'd made and she said to not call the number back, all was well.

THIS IS A PHISHING CALL! SCAM.

I have just returned from my credit union.  This company is for real...they refused payment for 3 fraudulent charges on my card yesterday, and cancelled my card.  I now have a new card on the way, and the credit union said that they contract this service out to Falcon Credit Services, and I spoke to them while I was at the credit union.  The 3 fraud charges were to companies that I refuse to do business with.

This is a legitimate company.  They are my Credit Unions watchdog.  If you dont call them back and verify the charges your credit or debit card will be frozen and no longer work.

YES YES YES. This is legitimate. I turned around and called my bank. It is a third party monitoring service.

This is a legitimate fraud monitoring company. My card was blocked because of suspicious charges.  I called my credit union and they told me to call this number to have the block lifted.  This company monitors charges for the credit union.  They flagged a couple of my charges even though I had made many to these companies in the past with this card.  I was annoyed because the representative was rude, but it is legitimate!  They verified my valid charges and lifted the block.  Now I can pay for my lunch.  They called from 800-890-5097 which is the number that my credit union told me to call.  I had no idea who I was calling but then saw that a missed call on my cell matched.  I don't answer calls I don't recognize.  Because I was at work I couldn't retrieve my voicemail so they blocked my card.  They should have larger thresholds to block a card.  The charges were $35, $20, $20 and I was declined for $6.50.  I could see if the charge was $300, but really?

After my Mastercard was denied several times on usps.com (in retrospect probably due to out-of date Mastercard information in my usps.com account), I received an automated phone message from "Card Services" on behalf of my bank, in which a "case number" was given, stating that I should call back 1-800-890-5097. Suspecting that this was a scam, I called back on my cell phone (as opposed to my land line, where I had received the message), and after giving the case number, I was asked for the final four digits of my Social Security number, at which point I hung up.

I checked online banking and saw no fraudulent charges.

I then went to the Post Office to try out my Mastercard on their 24-hour Automated Postal Center machine, and for the first time ever, my Mastercard was declined on it.

Realizing then that the Card Services call was probably legitimate, I called back 1-800-890-5097 on my land line, and this time (because I called back on my land line, and Card Services recognized my phone number, which matched the bank's records) I was not asked by the automated system for the final four digits of my SS #. They then asked me to verify the final three transactions on my Mastercard (by pressing 1 after each one), all of which were made by me, and the call ended with a statement that they were just checking if my Mastercard was "present" (i.e., if I still had it).

Frustratingly, there was no confirmation at the end of the automated call that my Mastercard had been reactivated.  The following morning, I again checked my Mastercard at the post office's APC machine, and this time it worked.  Apparently the automated system of Card Services automatically reactivated my Mastercard after I confirmed that the final three transactions with my Mastercard were made my me.

This is legitimate.  They call to verify unusual transactions (i.e., purchases outside the country).  Or unusual amounts.  There are actually some good guys out there looking out for us!

This is legit.  I too was apprehensive when I got the call and wouldn't speak to them...checked my bank account and there were two suspicious charges pending.  I did some research and found this page, looked at the back of my card and saw the same number.  I called them and they confirmed the charges that I was concerned about and stopped them from going through and cancelled my card immediately.  Now I'm calling the Hess gas station and letting them know that their pumps may be compromised.

Got 3 calls from this number. After the 2nd, I looked it up here (what a great resource!) and then called my bank directly.  They did not recognize that number and did not have any warnings on my 2 accounts. Then the third time I got a call, I answered but got just the tail end of a recorded message that said "verizon wireless".  I guess I'll try to call them now. When I have an hour to sit on hold.

This company is the fraud check service for Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union in Florida and other credit unions all over the country. I called Suncoast directly and then they referred me to the call back number which was given in the automated message. In my case, it was simply a wrong number and name and no social security information was released to them.

Rec'd a call today from 800-890-5097 but I didn't answer it on purpose.   After googling the 800 # 1st to get other feedback, I then checked with my friend who is the president of the bank where my card is connected.  He in turn immediately called an exec to get further info since it was the weekend and after hours.  The 800 # was indeed from a company (Falcon) who is contracted by my bank to check into POSSIBLE fraudulent activity.  The exec said that if I was not given a case # to go ahead & give the last 4 digits of my SSN for the automated service.  I had only used my card 1 time in the past week and it happened to be when it was used by me, in my possession while I was out of state.  The 800 call came into my cell within 10 min of my using it!  While I refuse to answer 800 calls because they seem to typically be for solicitations/marketing ploys, etc., I am relieved that this company together with my bank is doing a good job of protecting me.  I have added their name under my cell phone contacts so this will hopefully not happen again.  Heaven forbid that I don't take the call when I really have been victimized.  My suggestion to Falcon though is to somehow get their name/point across on caller ID.  800 #s usually don't have a good reputation.

Got a call from this number after attempting twice (once directly, once through Paypal) to purchase train tickets on the French state railway website voyages-scnf.com.  They already had my name and the transaction amounts, and wanted to verify I was the one doing these purchases.  It is TOTALLY LEGIT.  They should brand themselves better to make it seem less fishy though.

Is there a single person here who has actually been scammed by this number?

Called my bank instead of this number. By bank's fraud department had nothing flagged. Come to find out that my bank didn't even have the correct home phone number for me, so I'm considering this a fraud call.

Missed this number twice.  Disregarded because I didn't recognize it.  Later, tracked it online only to find out it was for fraud services via Falcon.  Long story short, checked my bank account to find 2 transactions that had taken place out-of-state.  I never used my card or offered authorization of such use on those particular dates nor in that particular state.  Called my credit union and they confirmed my card had been blocked due to suspicious activity (they found 3 transactions instead of 2) and I am currently disputing/investigating as we speak.  Therefore, in my experience, this is a legitimate number/company as confirmed by my credit union.  That said, I applaud them for bringing this matter to my attention and for resolving it in a timely matter.

I got the same call asking me to call 800 890 5097. I hung up and called it back, the same voice as before said " Your Card Service Center" What kind of business name is that. I researched this forum's comments and came to the conclusion that the company IS a fraud.
I can say this because I am a retired state investigator, I am certified to analyze statements to detect deception and my conclusions are accepted in courts of law, the "cons" are posting the positive comments on this forum, and before you try to debunk my comments I have two words for you. "SCREW YOU"

Legit.  Got the call about 3 minutes after I made an unusual purchase with my debit card via Paypal.  I let it go to voicemail, and then returned the call.  All they did was ask for the last 4 of my soc, then verified that specific transaction.  Grateful my CU is looking out for me!

It's a scam, they have called me a few times, left a msg after the 4th call. Said they are a fraudulant service center. I called my bank, they said don't call it, it is not legit. There were no fraudulant charges, they are doing their homework though, they knew the bank name and type of debit card, but used my maiden name. Don't call, it's B.S.

This 800-890-5097 is B.S. They continuosly call me but did not leave a msg til the 4th call. Said they are a fraudulant service center calling about a fraudulant charge on my bank acct. I was suspicious of course, especially since they used my maiden name, My bank confirmed everything is fine, said they would have called themselves if there was a fraudulant charge. Ignore this number

I don't know what to think. I was away on business and a call from this number came to my home. It was an automated call that asked for the last four of my social security number. The person at my house called me and told me about it. I called my bank right away, and they said there was nothing on hold, no strange charges, no reason for a call. AND my bank reminded me that their fraud department ALWAYS calls in person. And I do remember another time I was travelling and they did call me in person to verify charges.
THEN
The person at my home got a second robo-call, and again didn't input anything. I researched the number and found it to belong to Falcon Credit Monitoring. I don't think my bank uses a service.

I called my bank.  This is legit.  If you use Merchants bank of Alabama, call them.  There is a fraud ring using our card numbers in Paris, France.  Call your bank and see if you are caught up in this.

IF you are the scammer, just know you hit a HUGE brick wall here!!!!!!!

Call from this number was a fraud protection service associated with Union First Market Bank.. They did NOT ask for account information.  The wanted verification of an on line purchase.  They had the company  name, transaction amount and the time the transaction took place.  They simply wanted to verify that I did indeed make the purchase.
