Stop calling I am disabled and it is hard to answer the phone!

I received stuff in the mail too but it is still a scam.  Anyone can send out a printed letter that looks official.  You'll see, the calls will not stop coming for years to come.

This number calls everyday even on Sundays ans holidays. My caller ID box just reads Toll Free Call
I am at work during the hours they call, they do not leave a message . How annoying.

My son lives in Argentina now and when he calls (using a calling card) it has various different numbers, usually starting with "1"  so I have been answering unknown calls, something I usually don't do. Most of the time it's someone who wants to sell me something, or me to donate money (I don't have money to live on, myself) and such. I'm on the DO NOT CALL list, but I don't think this covers 800 number calls. Just answered, gave a name, said she was calling for the Police Officers Association and "how are you today?" I said I'm not interested and hung up. Not sure if this is a real cause or scam or what but I have less and less patience with these kind of calls.  Most of the time now I just hang up. I'm sure they are used to this and don't take it personally. Just adding this report for others who see this number calling.

No message....it said toll free number....if this is true that this the Vermont State Police Association, looking for donations...What makes them think that they are any better than anyone else, calling people that are on a do not call listing?  Then they wonder why people get upset...

Calling daily for about a week now. I don't answer. They leave no message. This is a for-hire fundraising company for "Vermont Police Association" that by a locally published report takes up to 80% for expenses. Keeps calling my house for me to send money...My husband and I have both told them no and they keep calling.

received a call from this number this morning caller id said California the caller said he was calling from Vermont Police Association for a fund drive he went on to explain how the funds were being used and would be used to help keep Vermont kids off drugs. I asked why the number came up as a California number he said that it was a glitch in the caller id system. Stupid me got talked into donating $25 to the organization. Hubby researched it and told me that it's a scam. Argh!!! Makes me mad. Out money that could be used elsewhere. Live and learn. Won't do that again will let hubby handle it next time. Must learn the art of saying "No!"and hanging up on unwanted calls. Go back to not answering unknown numbers. Please add me to a do not call list.

did not ans & caller left no msg.  Caller ID said TOLL FREE CALL.  They call periodically & I never ans.

Call rec'd at 4:05pm.  Caller ID indicated toll free call.  Didn't answer.  Left no message.

Caller from this number claimed to be from the Burlington, VT police department...probably looking for a monetary contribution. I said I don't take solicitation calls and hung up.

i wish they stop calling

Same story as everyone else, calls every evening around the same time. Never leave a message. This evening I picked up telephone but did not speak: person called out my first name twice, when I did not answer they hubng up. Called back again in about 15 mins.

although Charities are exempt from the DONOTCALL laws - they are still required to put you on their own DO NOT CALL list.  If they keep calling - they are violating the DNC laws.

NEVER DONATE OVER THE PHONE - YOU DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE LEGITIMATE
3rd party telemarketers calling on behalf of chartities are required to tell you they are telemarketers FIRST.  

Never donate to a 3rd party telemarketer - they keep 85% -90% of all donations they receive.

if you wish to donate to a charity - contact them directly yourself. and tell them to STOP using telemarketers..

HOPE YOU LIKE GETTING THESE CALLS - you are obviously too lazy to file reports..  so stop complaining!

They've been calling every day for weeks now -- I've just tried the customer service number, 1-800-324-7168, and hit Option 9 is be removed from their call list.  If they keep calling, I'll get a telezapper.

Call was from Vermont Police Association.  I hung up immediately.  They call periodically.  Gave his name as Sean something or other.

This is not a scam - see my comments above - we subsequently received a letter from the Vermont Police Association located in Hardwick, VT requesting a donation after my husband refused to give credit card number over the phone.

Received a call from this number.  Wanted a donation and our credit card number.  My husband said he would send them $25, but the caller kept asking for more info such as our address and telephone number.  My husband finally hung up.  I then notified the Vermont State Police and our local police department for their info, but they didn't seem interested.  Oh well . . .

Calls 2-3 times, including Sundays, to a registered do not call number. Usually results in a voice mail left with 15-20 seconds of dead air.

Calls every day on both of my telephone numbers...multiple times a day...can this be stopped?

I work days and would invariably come home to find this 800 number on caller ID with no message for several weeks. We are also registered with the NDNC list. Finally they called one evening and I told the person NO TO CALL here anymore.

I have told the "Vermont Police Association" not to call me... numerous time. I do not wish to make a contribution to the associatio, but they continue to call me just about every day. Is there nothing that can be done about these calls?  If I want to make any such contribuaton I will make it to my own town Police Department.

Noon Sunday.  Vermont Police Assoc. trying to make conversation.  Come on!  I get these crap calls at work CONSTANTLY and don't want them at home!  The "do not call" procedure for reporting is so cumbersome I get the feeling they really don't want to know.  And the vT Police do not get money donated through this association.  That much is confirmed.
