Keep receiving call from this company 800-895-7918, Thank you for letting me know it is the Smith Comp. I compased an email asking that my number be removed from the data base and CC the Ct Attorney General's office also.
Repeated calls despite Do Not Call. Always at dinner.
The callers are publishers it's called thhe Smith Company,4455 Connecticut Ave, Nw, suite 600. Washington Dc20008. 202-895-0900. Website,www.the smithco.com
they continue to call several times a day, i am on the do not call list
Who is this that keeps calling - for years, apparently???
This number calls everyday .....is there anything a person can do ?
81 year old woman
I called this number and told them I am 81 years old and do not want them to call my number. The lady was very nice. She answered the call with Smith company or something like that. She said they would put me on their do not call list and that the calls will end in 2-5 days so any calls for the next few days I should ignore and then I will be on their do not call list.
1-800-895-0999 is a company called the Smith Company. They use auto-dial for magazine companies to renew subscriptions (whether you have one or not!) They claim if you have a subscription they can call you. NO. The MAGAZINE company can call, not Smith Co. I told them to remove my number immediately. If I get one more call ~ after allowing a week for them to remove the # from their system ~ I will BILL SMITH COMPANY for harassment charges and failure to obey FCC. Scared the heck out of the person.
Called at 8:26 this evening. Not the first time. I am on the Do Not Call List. They have NO business harrassing my family like this.
Just got a call (11/13/12 - 8:20PM EST).
No message. Just another telemarketer wanting something from us.
Just called @ 6:04PM EDST on Monday, September 24, 2012.
No message. "Toll Free Call" on the caller ID.
I am reporting them to the FCC - www.donotcall.gov
Take a moment to report EVERY bogus call you get. That's the only way to get it to eventually stop.
Called my home number about 9 pm. Did not leave a message. We are on the state and federal do not call list.
I get a call from this company at least once a day. At first, I would pick up the phone and there would be nobody there. Now, I looked at caller ID and just ignore the call. It is very annoying--especially since many of the calls are around dinner time.
Called at 11:30am on Saturday. Caller ID stated "800 Service". I use a Digitone Call Blocker, & reject all 800 calls, since seldom there is anyone on the other one on the line.
Probably Democratic National Committee looking for a donation.
Hey, so, I wondering if you guys know you can add these numbers to your "Call block" list in your phone. Your phone will ring once and then cut off the call. I've accumulated quite a long list of blocked numbers...it's a beautiful thing.
Legitimate purpose. They call to let you know that a magazine subscription is expiring.
Thank you, 800notes.com for what you do.
look at the their website thesmithcode.com under clients, it says under magazine, TV Guide, im not supporting them or anything but its there.
Received a call from 800-895-0999. Picked up and no one was there. Moments later received a call from Franklin Templeton Investment 727-299-8712. Do you supose that the first call was a check to find someone at home?? If you ring back the 8712 number you reach a "non working" number at Abbott Nutrition. .
called but left no message
Okay, y'all have explained it. I hit the ignore button on my phone. I am guessing that the call was likely about my TV Guide sub that is about to run out. That's the only thing that seems to fit their client list.
So now I definitely won't re-subscribe anytime soon. Adios, TV Guide! If all your by-mail pleas haven't worked, did you really think this would?
(Not that I think anyone from TV Guide is actually going to read this.)
Call at 6:30 pm. No messages on voice mail.
If you have call forwarding features (like on Verizon Digital Voice), than forward this jerk to 717-338-2533. That's the FCC Director's office phone. Maybe the FCC will finally do their job when they start getting the annoying calls. Since filing complaints with the FCC doesn't work at all

They claim to be calling for magazines. But when you call back to have your phone number removed, they suddenly develop static and your call is breaking. Multiple calls there after yields a laughing c\/nt who says "it doesn't matter. I don't want to talk to you."
I received a call from this number last night at 7:44 PM. I saw the 800 number coming in and let it go to my answering machine. The call did not speak for the first 10-15 seconds, but then could hear the person taking the phone off mute or juggling the receiver to get on the line and came on and asked for me by first and last name. The person had a very strange voice, funny pitch, possibly Asian. At first my husband thought it was a crank call from a friend, but I told him it was an 800 number.
Called my home #; no message, Caller ID gave this #.
Yes, It's a telemarketing company.
Oh .... and I made a complaint to the FCC, too. Especially since I've been on the "Do Not Call List" since 2005!
They called & asked if they could speak to me or my husband. I said "Yes." they asked if I was my husband & I said "Yes." They said both our names & then "which one is it?" to which I said "Yes!" This went on for a little while, I heard a heavy sigh on the other end @ which point I was beginning to giggle & hung up. They didn't call back.
