Debt Collector
Well this was interesting, about 45 seconds after I posted the last message my phone rings and it was this number.  It was a robo call, said the call was for (my name) and to press 1 if it was me.  So I pressed 1, it said it was a debt collector Penn Credit and Collections, blah, blah, blah.  Then it said it was collecting a debt for an unnamed client and the debt was $547.00.  Hmm, went from $40.00 to $547.00 wonder how that happened.  It wanted me to press 1 to pay the debt right away, or press 2 to make payment arrangements.  I neglected to press anything and it eventually said "Your Response Has Been Noted" and hung up.  Well now I guess I really do have a case against them.
Well let us see if they call again after this posting goes up.

After doing some research I have to agree that this is Penn Credit and Collections from Harrisburg, PA.  Their contact phone number for the collection department is 800-900-1380, and I had previously gotten called from 800-900-1382 several months ago where they identified themselves and were looking to collect a supposed medical debt.  Since I had a cancelled check for this debt in my possession I sent them a debt validation letter to which they have failed to respond to in a timely manner.  Now they are calling to collect this debt again without furnishing the required proof.  I think I could use some extra money so maybe I will sue them.  Guess maybe if I win it will not be so profitable to try to collect $40.00 alleged debts.  I wonder if i win if I will have to hire a debt collector to get my money from them?  That would be ironic!

They have been calling everyday since it shows up on my caller id as 800 Service.  Never a message, so yesterday I was home and near the phone, when I answered there was a bunch of clicks and the phone went dead.  Probably some scammer using an autodialer.

I posted on Jan 12.  I finally blocked this number on Jan 24 and they finally stopped trying (daily) on Feb 10.

Now (about 15 calls starting Feb 15 until today), I'm getting calls from "800 Service" (what caller ID says) again, but from a different number - 888-234-9939 [1].  I just blocked that number.  So we'll see what new number pops up next.

A man born into the slums is practically cursed to be poor.... put two rats in separate cages feed one and starve the other..... it's not the rats choice to be hungry the other had the opportunity to eat. You need to read previous posts. They will not stop calling anyone until you notify them in writing as a complaint or cease and desist. Expose these predators. They go by many deceptive names Alternate Business Names: C.C.C. Central Credit Control, Degarcia, Donald C. Donagher, Jr. Another predatory debt collector asking to contact them directly because they want to hide the fact of how they ignore all state and federal consumer protection rules, regulations, and laws. You do need to call them to find the reason why they're harassing and abusing you, family, and friends. Make first complaint through their BBB http://www.bbb.org/washington-dc-eastern-pa/b ... rg-pa-70001231/ followed by with complaints to all state and federal consumer protection agencies.

Just got a call on my personal phone.  I did not answer.  They left no message.  Caller ID shows the wonderfully descriptive "800 Service".  I have no clue who they are since they left no message, but it's likely spam based on the posts I've read here.

After reading the Posts, TCLLC has no debt, no unpaid invoices.   The caller didn't leave a message .. if it is Penn Credit and a Medical Collection Call, the company has no Health Insurance or medical bills.  Add us to you do not call list.  Your calls are fraudulent, illegal, and harassment as TCLLC has no outstanding liabilities that are not current.

This company called today saying I owed a debt of $285 for a bill which that is currently accepting payments. They wanted their money up front. This people must be very stupid to think I would give any financial information to them. I reported this call and another one yesterday as a fraud scam.

The above phone number is calling via a computer aided dialer.  Sometimes it leaves a general message with or without a name.  The calls are throughout the week and on Saturday.  One msg. had a male calling advising the office, Penn Credit Corporation, was now closed however, they were looking for Wayne Kotanko for unpaid $100 on an account. (Don't know this person. Just got this ph# 6 months ago.

You can't push zero to get an operator or live person because the message is being left via computer system.  This is also known as a "Robo-call."

More like not-so-helpful Hannah! Scum like these creditors don't necessarily go after people who actually owe money. My debt was paid in full almost 4 years ago, and the original creditor confirmed that yesterday. They even tried to call Penn Credit and see what the heck they are doing, but PC refused to talk to them.

These kind of bottom feeders will harass people who don't even owe money, because they know people will pay just to make them go away.

I am receiving repeated phone calls from this number. There is no option to tell them that I have never heard of the person they are calling for, and they always call on the weekend or on Friday evening, after their reported business hours.

Calls repeatedly.  Recorded message.  Finally I get a voice and tell her to stop calling, the person they are trying to reach is not at this number, and take us off their call list.  Even though the message indicated that they would be recording it for quality assurance, the women was extrememly rude and hung up on me before my message was completed.

Got an automated call from this number earlier. It was for my son, who has never lived here and whom I haven't seen in a few years, so they must have "Googled" his name to be associated with mine. I am on a do not call list. I hate these callers, and when they can't confirm the person they are calling (or even try to) at the number they are calling, they should be required by law to stop calling.

THIS ISSUE NEEDS A HUGE CLASS ACTION SUIT TO RUN THE GOOFBALLS OUT OF BIUSENESS. I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM THEM, THEY  NEVER REMOVE ME, JUST LIKE THE FED DO NOT CALL LIST, I RE-REGISTER MONTHLY AND STILL GET CRAP. SINCE I KEEP MY MATTERS IN ORDER AND THEY KNOW IT, THEY NEED JAIL! THEY THINK WE SHOULD GO PLAY DETECTIVE FOR THEM.  I NEVER SEE THEM DO ANYTHING TO THOSE WHO ARE THE ONES THEY CLAIM THEY ARE LOOKING FOR,ALL I SEE IS EXCUSES TO SHOW FAKE ACTIVITY, THAT WOULD BE A SHAM. AT TIMES THIS GROUP HAS ADMITTED TO ME THAT THEY DON'T EVEN CHECK TO VERIFY ANYONES ACCOUNT. THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE IN LAW, MUCH GOOD WOULD COME OF IT.MAYBE SOME OF THOSE TV ADDS FROM LAWYERS TO SUE SHOULD LOOK HERE!

You shouldn't need to change numbers but you should stop barking up the wrong trees.

1)  The FCC has next to no jurisdiction. Debt collection has for decades been regulated by the FTC, and more recently the CFPB.

2)  The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person. Here are the DNC service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:

Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

As for your proposed "harassment suit", you'll be attacking with a broken sword. Phone calls and emails do not give you proof that your demands were heard. You need certainty that ending the skip trace calls becomes Penn's problem and not yours. My long form advice for "not me" cases is found here:
http://800notes.com/forum/ta-34af6a034ba34b6/unending-collection-calls

The Ex is in the best position to end all calls to all places and may have standing for a FDCPA suit based on abuse of a provision for skip tracing "nearbys". Penn went out of its way to find and hassle you, which may not be part of an honest "location information" request, but an effort to create false shame. Meanwhile, your noted "horrible behavior" could be examined for anything which rises to abuse, oppression, or annoyance in a FDCPA suit of your own. Wait for your "shut up" letter to have, or rather not have, its desired effect before you get seriously litigious.
