My personal/private cell phone number was not given to them years ago so that they could use it for the purpose of soliciting business after I left them, it was given to them to assist with any scripts that they were handleing at the time. I am upset that they are basically using my private information as a form of solicitation, in house or not it was expressly conveyed at the time that the number was not for any survey or sales purposes and this has been violated. I question how reputable the company is. In fact when I left them and cancelled my scripts (again on the phone with a person, not through a machine) through them they proceeded to fill one of my scripts after the fact. I promptly returned it to address that had sent it, (it was not a controlled substance of any sort). I received a call a month later from their representative asking me where the medication was, claiming it was not in the package that I had returned unopened. As I told them at the time, speak to their employees in the warehouse, I personnally could not answer for anyone on the opposite coast. As I said before fortunatly it was not a medication that could be used to get high or anything of that nature.

I am a bit frustrated by this call, yes it is medco/express scripts. I stopped useing them over 2 years ago and the call I just received was from their automated system requesting that I update my credit card information so that they can better serve me in the future. The fact that they are calling me 2 years after I stopped using their service and know already that the card they had on file is about to expire greatly concerns me as to the safety of the information that I gave them at the onset. Why? What is the purpose of them keeping this type of personal information on me 2 years after I cancelled my account with them, which by the way I did on the phone with a live individual. That should have been removed from their system and if I had come back to them at any time I could have update at that time but for them to keep my credit card information on file after I cancelled their service concerns me.

I've connected my computer printer to my phone line and let the fax answer on the second ring. Medco and telemarketers get the fax. If caller ID indicates someone I want to speak with I can call back. Family and friends know to call on an unlisted private cell number.  In the last four days caller ID shows I had 14 calls and everyone was telemarketer.  All they got was the fax.  Way to go !!!

Once a prescription has left the pharmacy it cannot be returned and that is why you had that problem. It is against the law

I am unable to swallow any pills as my throat has closed due to medical condition so I take chewable vitamins and dissolve my tablets for a few minutes in my coffee every morning. The capsule all beit time released I open up and place into applesauce or ice cream since it says do not bite. I have to let them flow down with liquid type food. Some of the meds are not too bad but some are very bitter. But I do what I have to in order to get them down!

I guess Medco is now Express Scripts as I too received a call. There was a problem with the order for meds and the Dr. office was not responding so they called me. Happy I ck'd out the number as I do not answer ones I do not have identified. Now it is in my phone and my meds are on the way.

We have the same situation. We have to pay double at Wal-Mart or Walgreens. Our company probably gets a kick-back from Medco.

I've been using Medco for years and I haven't had any problems with their services.  (No, I don't work for them, I work for the state.)  Recently they merged with Express Scripts (previously contracted with them through my employer) and I haven't noticed any change in the service.  I refill my scripts online and they usually call to let me know when it ships.  If my doctor calls in a script, they call to let me know.  The only thing I find annoying about that is they leave a script # but not the name of the drug.  I have no idea which script they're referring to.  I've never received any type of solicitation calls from them and the only time I use a local pharmacy is when I have to have a script filled that I don't normally take.  The mail in program is a great time saver for me but I have to agree that I don't like my meds being left in my mailbox.  I don't take anything that anyone would want but it still isn't secure.  Would be wonderful if I could pick a day to have them delivered but that isn't an option.

Telemarketer
(This IS NOT a Telemarketing caller...that was the only close choice I had to choose from.)

This is the "AS SEEN ON TV" people for "Light Angel" TV Commercial. I called them yesterday, Sat., to find out some info about the "Brooklyn Lantern". I did not ask them to call me back at all. So, they take the liberty of calling me back, from India, where their call center is...on a SUNDAY morning at 9:11 A.M. and woke me out of a very nice sleep, that I didn't get last night. This number is according to the CID. What a nerve!!!  I called them back and told them to NEVER call me on a SUNDAY, THE LORD'S DAY, ever again and if they do, I told them, I will block their number forever. The nice man apologized and that was it.

I don't like "outsourcing" of jobs in our country but there is one thing positive that I can say about most "overseas" calls, they are usually very polite and NOT like far too many of us North American people...sometimes and far too often, mean nasty people. :o)

Good luck...and may our GOD and HIS SON JESUS bless you to pieces...along with Canada and the USA!

I received a call from this 800 number and didn't answer it; but it left a message and when I listened to it I caught my full legal name and "press 1 for more details".  This call was placed to my extension at my place of employment.  I am used to receiving calls from Express Scripts at this number, so I Googled "Medco Express Scripts" and sure enough, the companies have merged.  I was expecting (from a prior Express Scripts call) notification of shipping on a prescription, so I'm pretty sure that's what this would have been had I answered the phone.  I preferred the Express Scripts experience because their system would leave an appropriate and intelligently-worded message.  This medco system was not intelligent enough to realize that it was talking to my answering system.  I believe this to be an appropriate call, even if it was of lower quality than I am used to.

Medco really needs to fix this so that "Medco" shows up on the caller ID.  I ignored this caller for 3 weeks because of this and it turned out to be something important.

Seriously. Do you work for Medco? This is without doubt, the absolute worst company that I've ever dealt with from a customer service perspective, but unfortunately thanks to anti-competitive contracts signed with the insurer, I have no choice.

If you already know that Medco is a "legit company with great service", why are you checking out the unknown caller boards? The suspiciously positive reviews here can only be from Medco employees sent out to put positive spin on their appalling business practices and pathetic service.

Nothing more to be said, except Medco sucks.

I have had nothing but pathetic service from Medco. They consistently make mistakes on orders, short ship prescribed items, change branded to generic without my or my doctor's permission (even when the prescription says "brand required"), send things late (after I've run out of insulin, for example), can't promise a delivery date (which is horrible if you travel at all, or if you care that things are left on your porch when you aren't home). They have never fulfilled an order, not even once, without problems. And, they don't even bother to apologize for their mistakes.

I too am forced to use Medco, against my wishes. The lack of reliability is a big issue for me, and the fact that they move on their own schedule and don't care whether I'm home or not when they ship stuff.

Exclusive contracts of this nature should be illegal. It is putting small local pharmacies out of business -- the same pharmacies that Medco sends me to for emergency supplies when they make mistakes, or when a non-maintenance drug is required. Yet, these maintenance drugs are the bread-and-butter of the small guys, so who is going to be there when you get sick? Certainly not Medco. It was precisely contracts of this nature that got Microsoft in antitrust trouble with the DoJ and resulted in a consent decree to control their anti-competitive behavior. Minimally, patients should have the choice -- I was willing to pay the difference in cost for reliable service (and to support the local community guy who knows me and looks out for me). The local pharmacy was willing to charge the same dispensing fees and same medication costs as Medco, but even though I was told the reason for going with Medco was "to control costs", this alternative was not permitted. It is immoral.

It's also disgusting that Medco feels free to abuse my cell number, which was required to be given to receive an order. Now I get multiple annoying and unidentifed calls from robo-callers with useless information and other crap. I don't accept any calls from 800 numbers, because in my experience, they're all telemarketers, and I'm on the do-not-call list (a big joke that is -- most widely abused telemarketing list the government ever assembled). They don't have my permission to do so, but won't stop calling.

I can't believe that anyone here considers Medco to be a reputable and good company. My suspicion is that the majority of positive reviews here are from Medco employees filing false reports -- that would be more consistent with my experience with this deceitful and disgusting company.

I agree with you that having pills sit in your mailbox all day is not the best thing. I live in a hot climate and certain meds are supposed to stay within a certain temperature range. On a hot summer day, I worry that having the pills sit in the mailbox all day long might be harmful to them. I have no idea if it is a problem or not but it does concern me.

It's Medco but I am getting tired of them calling to verify information every time they fill in Rx. Sometimes they want to know if I have changed my address. Do they really need to ask about that every time? They also have people call to try and get you to switch any Rx you fill at a retail pharmacy. They can't seem to get a clue that getting a $4 prescriptions at a retail pharmacy is cheaper than Medco (at least with the co-pay I have). There is also a med that I used to get from Medco and it changed to something they switch suppliers and the new pill was huge and not coated and I couldn't swallow it. I called and asked for something else and they said that was all they had. I went to my local pharmacy and got something that I can take. It's a little more money but worth the extra cost. Medco is generally convenient, but I don't think they are the greatest. If someone calls in the wrong Rx for you, once Medco has mailed it to you they refuse to take it back so you are out the money. At least with a retail pharmacy you can check that you have the right med when you pick it up and if it's not you don't take it and they don't charge you for it.

The number you make to call Medco (or any other company/office) may be different from the outgoing number. Unless you add the number from the incoming call to your caller ID list, it won't show as the legitimate caller. For instance, the number I use to reach my doctor is their main incoming line. They use a different line or lines for outgoing calls. The phone number is usually one or two digits different from the number they use for incoming calls. So the number I call may end in 6508, but the calls they make to me might be from 6509 or 6510.

Again, this number is from Medco, and the are just calling to verify a shipping address for someone who is depending on them to get a prescription. My wife and I both use this service through our health plan, and it works well for us. My wife gets critical anti-rejection drugs from them (for a transplanted organ that she very much wants to keep), so don't worry, they are not out to scam you or steal your identity. If they have the wrong number (say, if you don't use their services), just tell them.
