Caller left no message, but I could hear walking around in a room.

I just got off the phone with the Attorney Generals of Washington State's Costumer Consumer Protection line.  The women on the phone told me that it most likely is a robo call.  She also gave me a number for the Do Not Call List, so I don't get these types of calls again, (1-888-382-1222).  She also told me that if you enter into any type of survey or sign up for any type of promotional give away it will take you off the Do Not Call List and your number will become public information.  Also do not call the number back.  Generally these types of robo calls or automated calls do not have your number it generates randomly, once you call them back they have your number and continue to call you.  Call your state's Attorney Generals Office and speak with someone for more information.  I hope this helps folks - Cheers

This number keeps calling but there is no one there and when I call it back it rings once and then there is nothing.

They have been calling my home number every 45min -60 min since 9:00 Pacific time.  Just like everyone else, if I don't they don't leave a message.   If I do answer I hear a disconnect.  I've tried calling and it rings once and goes to a dial tone.   I was expecting an important call had to let everyone know to call me on my cell, I turned the ringer off.

I have received 11 calls so far all similar trends to the ones people have posted.  Is there any better business bureau number we can call to report this problem?

They have called me 4 times (so far) today 3/9/10 on my cell phone. The call doesn't fully connect--right after I pick up and say hello, it goes to the signal-lost sound. I've let it go to voice mail but they don't leave a message either.

I tried calling back to find out who's calling me and got only a click, which is why I went to the web to see what I could learn about the number.

It's quite maddening. Is there any way to block this? Where else can I report it? It's verging on harassment to have the constant ringing while I'm trying to work.

This number has called me 5 times so far today on my cell phone. I'm at work and the constant interruption is quite maddening. It was actually a relief to go to Google and find that there's some kind of answer, although I can't imagine why I'm getting the calls.

The call doesn't seem to quite connect--I get the "lost signal" tone shortly after picking up. Like others here I tried calling it back but it doesn't go anywhere.

I would like to report or block them. Is there some way I can do this?

Receive calls from this number. NO one speaks.  I called the number back and after ringing I  get a dial tone.  I'm on the NO Calling List.

Received a call tonite from this phone number 800-918-9104, no message. This is after I made a very firm request yesterday to another number to stop calling me every single day. (603-236-7851). I also got a blocked call today. I want no phone calls, emails, snail mail, personal visits from any of these people. This needs to stop.

Who are these people?  They just called our house twice and hung up when we answered both times.

They are fundraisers for a variety of right-wing causes.  If you gave money to the RNC last year, they sold your number to these people.

The Republicans are just as bad as the democrats!

This number called me 5 times today, but my phone was on silent so I missed it.

Isn't the vote on Prop. 8 long overwith?  Is this number being used by someone else now?  They called 4 times today.  I answered it 3 times and there was never anyone there.  I said "Hello" 3 times and waited...never a response.

Got several calls from this phone number. No message left.

Just received this call.  Weird, lady told me that she was a volunteer and she wanted to speak with someone to talk about her beliefs on Prop. 8.

They are based in Kentucky, and they want to know how callers are voting on Prop. 8.  They are from protectmarriage.com

I have asked they stop calling, and they won't stop.

There are ways of dealing with people like this.  I have reported them to the police.

No matter how one decides to vote on Prop 8, I encourage everyone to call the this number, as it costs them money every minute the line is open.

So, I have a fairly new cell phone that only 5 people know about, how did they get my number?

This is a call from "Protect Marriage"--the crazies who are behind California's Proposition 8. I wish they would go away.....

Prop 8 will encourage gay marriage in elementary school.

1-800-918-9104 has called 2 times this morning (7/25/09) and 5 times this week. They never leave a message. When I answer to find out what they want, I get a hang up. I called the number and there is a hangup. It's just aggravating!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally talked to the person calling from 800-918-9104. That number is currently being used for a state of VA. delegate. They want to talk to you about an upcoming delegate election. Unfortunately, the National Do Not Call Register does not apply to polictical campaigns. Just like our politician to exempt themselves (*&%#$@+)!!!!!!

They call every f'ing day...I'm so sick of it.  Literally called me 6 times today. There has to be a way to stop this.

Two calls in less than 24 hours. Most recent they hung up after 2 rings, before I could answer. Previous Hung up as soon as I picked up the phone.
Previously I had similar response from 800-390-4812.

Isn't it illegal for them to have "Toll Free" as their caller ID?

Have been calling for several days.  No one is on the line.  They hang up.

I have told them MANY times that we DON'T accept that type of phone call and to take our name off their list.  They continue to call.
They have called twice today [10/18/09]
Now when I answer they don't talk.

This number called (6) times today!!!  No one in the receiving end.  I even tried to call back just to see who it was.  No answer.  Just clicking sound, as if it's automated.  

As someone else mentioned, it could be a political delegate polling call.  VA elections are coming up next week.

The last time they called, I didn't even say hello.  I just said I'm going to report this to FTC and hung up!  Hopefully, that'll help too!
