same thing happend to me they called today 8/16/11 lady said she was kelly from IGS and told me she had all of my information from my gas company,I live in Indiana so we have Nipsco the lady kept on talking she asked if I had a Nipsco bill handy I asked why???I thought you had all my account information and asked her why Nipsco did not call me so I feel its some sort of scam and hung up

Got a call about a lower gas rate. Called back. Got IGF Energy. Talked to the rep who offered a fixed rate program. I accepted and when I went to the "confirmation" person the deal changed. DRASTICALLY. I declined to go further. A call back immediately and suddenly it doesn't go through.

Simple bait-n-switch company, where phone reps change the story (IF they answer), to keep you on the line. They even asked me WHY I was calling until they figured out I was returning a call from THEM about natural gas and then they switched me to the "natural gas dept."

Bottom line folks: Get a call from these people, do not call back, do not answer, DO get your name off their list. This is not a reputable business.

Silence when I answered phone, then a male stated, "hi calling about your columbia gas bill."  Then hung up when I did not converse.

I keep getting this phone call, I will not answer,they will not leave a message. It is very annoying.
 I have my mother here with me and she takes naps as she is 88 yrs. old. Why do they  have to call?

Never leaves a message?...I never pick up 800 numbers, NOBODY EVER SHOULD, typically always
a scam collector or something else, If it's a collection agency ask them to verify the debt in writing
meaning you want the original signed document, if they don't leave you alone keep the phone number and report it, you can sue a collection agency for $1000.00 for a violation of the "Fair credt act".

Called me twice on a non-published cell phone number and did not leave a message either time. Returned their call, Recording states IGF Energy and got 3 minutes of classical piano music then silence for the next 2 until I disconnected the call.

I get calls at all times over a three day period and then it goes quiet for a month.  I screen the ID so I never answer an 800 call.  Although they are calling my cell phone, the Columbia or Interstate Gas caller identified earlier from other posts may be correct. I work in a branch office but our company profile and revenues could suggest we are a big plum for a gas customer.  Interstate has called me before on this subject.  I explained at that time we were a small office operation, not a gas customer.

Got a call from this number on Friday night, 1/12/11.    Said my gas would still be billed from my utililty but signing up for this would lower gas cost - like a contracted flat rate.  When I asked for information to be sent to me so I could investigate, woman said "you mean you don't want to enroll now?", I said no, not without confirming this as a legitimate situation, and she hung up with no information to give me.

Caller ID read "800 Service" -- always suspicious, so I picked up and announced only "SPEAK".

The caller requested to speak to the person who "pays the DTE gas bill". I immediately told him "NOT INTERESTED GOODBYE" and hung up.

I don't feel bad about it at all now that I read the history here.

They call one of our non-published numbers but when the auto attendant kicks in they hang up.  They show up on my reports but no one talks to them.  Gotta love the auto attendant.

I keep getting a call from this number every single day. When I answer, there is no one on the line.
So, I called the number back, found out it is "Interstate Gas".  I just asked to speak to a supervisor and the guy I talked to seemed to know I wanted to be placed on a "Do not call" list at that point. He took my number and said it would take up to 24 hours. We'll see if it works. The daily hang-ups were driving me nuts!

My number is unpublished and they called.  Said it was regarding an "ongoing investigation." and asked for a Margaret.

they called my work number and did not leave a message - saw the number on my caller ID and tried to call them back - twice.  both times the call went through but was disconnected before the first ring.  whoever they are i'm pretty sure they don't have the consumers best interest at heart.

The same thing was happening to me. I called the number back, asked to speak to a supervisor, the guy didn't even transfer me, just asked if I was looking to be placed on the DO NOT CALL list, I said yes, he said it took 24 hours, haven't had a call from them since.

No matter how many times you speak to a supervisor asking to be taken off the call list it NEVER happens!!  Waste of time.

Persistant telemarketing from Interstate Gas wanting you to lock into a rate for your Columbia Gas account (FYI, their website says the rate is subject to change with the change in gas pricing).  When I told the lady I wasn't interested and to remove my number, she refused to give up.  After about the third time of saying remove my number and her continued persistance, I lost it.  After calling her dense and a little swearing she finally stopped pursuing the matter.  I hate to be so awful, but it seems that profanity is the only way to get your number removed these days.  Telemarketers are like pit bulls and won't accept defeat.  I've tried the nice route, but all that gets you is more unwanted calls.

I told them that I have a natural gas well on my property and have an electric generater that supplies all my electric. I lied. I acyually live in 3 building apartment complex that has 28 apartments. It stopped the calls.

They have been calling for months and months - every day - 4-5 times per day at times.

I've asked them to stop.  PLEASE STOP.

Same thing.... got a call and, as soon as I answered the phone, they hung up.  I have caller ID so I called them back and they answered as IGF Energy. I spoke to a customer service rep and he stated they were calling all Columbia Gas customers to offer a lower rate.  I think they call every number in the phone book to see who will answer and if a customer service rep is free then he or she will take the call.  If the rep isn't free the machine automatically disconnects the call.

Ditto...except it's 4 or 5 times a day. Driving me absolutely crazy.

They call and hang up.  Never saying anything.  Sometimes two and three times a day.

Look This is getting old! I'm fricking thirteen and these people keep calling my house! I'm fricking done with this! They call again I'm calling them myself and telling them to stop f***ing calling my house! It's freaking me out!

Okay I'm starting to get fed up with this. THey call like three times a day! THREE TIMES A DAY! C'mon now that's a tad bit ridiculous don't ya think? I don't answer the phone because I know it's them. During the day they'll call like every four hours... It's really annoying! And Nobody's at the end of the line! I swear if this 'company' or whatever calls again, the phone, is going out the window! And the same thing happened to me not two months ago! IT GETS OLD! GET A LIFE ALREADY AND STOP BOTHERING ME!!! I MEAN REALLY?

March 18th received a call at 12:47 p.m. with no one on the other end and a hang up after about ten seconds.
