I got a call from this number +18009246292. I'm suspecting it's fraud.

It's not a scam. You owe them money or your account is in arrears. Pay up dead beat!
Michel delagarde 2013-12-05 22:01:11 Unknown
Its a scam. They just tried the same thing with me.

I got a call and it was a number from europe so I let it go to voicemail. When I checked the message it was an automated voice saying it was from td canada trust. The message gave me a reference number of 3963101 and the toll free number it asked me to call was 800-924-6292.
When I called it sounded like a Jamaican lady who answered and immediately asked for my address. Before she could finnish I cut her off and told her I am not giving her any information then I hung up.

I have had several calls from this number in the past few days. They keep asking for a girl who USED to work for us. I have repeatedly told them that she is no longer employed by this company, and have asked them to quit calling. The weird part is that they are calling my cell phone...a number she NEVER had access to!!!
How odd is that?
The woman that calls sounds like she is native ( or would that be Native Canadian? Or? Sorry, don't want to use ethnically/politically incorrect terms, and I apologize if I have offended anyone.)

Received call from Automated message leaving a reference number. When I return the call the message says all operators are busy and to leave a message. I don't know of too many large companies who don't have some sort of message queue that would wait for the next available operator.

Just spoke with a representative at TD Canada Trust through EasyLine (on the back of my bank card), and they sound pretty thoroughly convinced that this is not one of their departments.

My 16 year old daughter returned a call from computerized voicemail message saying that they were calling from TD Canada Trust. They asked her for personal information which she provided not understanding anything about identity theft. TD hasn't yet advised if this is legitimate.

keep getting calls from this number yet i am on a no call list?!
Roger 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
It's not a phoney number. It's TD Canada Trust and they're calling because you're a dead beat who doesn't pay his or her bills. Keep ignoring it, that'll make the problem go away, and soon you'll have collections agents calling too!
PAY YOUR BILLS

Key word...APPARENTLY. This is TD Customer Care department. Call are regarding PAST DUE accounts. If you have ANY questions about this ask YOUR branch to call back and they will talk to them. Mention to TD that this this is A.R.M. (accounts recovery management. DO NOT CALL YOUR BRANCH ABOUT PAST DUE VISA; CALL VISA DIRECTLY. Branched have NO idea about past due VISA accounts.

It Fake Fake Fake! Do not answer so not call back. You Think after a year of complaints TD would do something. All TD numbers start with 1-866 apparently

This is a valid number as far as I can tell-- I called back, spoke to a very odd person, she asked me for my case #, didn't have one, then asked for my phone number, and I gave that. She proceeded to ask me for my business name/address etc... finally I asked her why she needs all that information and she said she couldn't release any info, I gave them a fake address at first to see if they actually had my address, and sure enough they knew it was fake. I then gave them the real address and they started explaining the problem and it sounded legit.
It is relating to your bank account, they had actual data regarding personal account information which they relayed to me first, so it seems authentic.

I keep getting calls meant for some other guy who uses my number for stuff. This was one of them. Sounds somewhat legit but i wouldn't call these people back, i don't think they would use an automated message if they really had something to say to you anyways.

Called from 1 800 924 6292. Suspicious sounding automated message from TD Canada Trust asking for my business name (as if it were the name of a person). In a very "you've just won a prize" sort of way it notified me that I should call immediately regarding the account and gave me a call back time of between 9am and 8pm from Monday to Friday. It proceeded to give me a reference number, something like "one million, two hunderd and fifty eight thousand, six hundred and fifty two". I guess plain old numbers and letters are out of style.
I called the number back, it said "Press 1 for english, 2 for French." I pressed 1, and it rang about 10 short rings, then went to a voicemail: "You have reached the voice mailbox of: "TD Canada Trust", we can't come to the phone right now to leave a message. Riiiiiggghhhtt.
I called my real TD Canada Trust branch and reported the fraud and they confirmed that there were no pending issues to talk to me about, nor do their "reference codes" follow their pattern. Their real reference codes are alpha numeric.
BEWARE!

Calls from this number ( 1 800 924 6292 ) using voice mail and
saying that they are calling from TD Canada Trust appear to be phoney.
I called Canada trust and they don't know anything about
these calls.
The calls come regularly any time of the day and have become a nusicence.
Joyce 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
I get calls from this number almost everyday and the voice mail rambles on about something that I do not understand and when I dial the number back to see who it is , I get the TD Canada Trust bank in Toronto. They do not seem to know about or what can be done. Think that canada should be checking this out if this is a scam on their customers.
Maurice 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
For the past two weeks I have been receiving calls from this number , sometimes two to three times per day. I called TD canada Trust and they don't seem to know anything about this number , but said that they would try to correct it. Still getting those annoying calls.
Darius B 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
Same thing happened with me. The same lady called me 3 times in 3 days with a reference number. I called TD with the number on the back of my card that was DIFFERENT from the number they provided me on the message and they had NO RECORD OF THIS REFERENCE NUMBER! They also said
Very suspect! I called the the TD

It's a fraud, claiming to be TD Canada Trust trying to pry personal information from you. Beware.
