Signed up for the 3 free magazines. Used the card and cancelled all 3 on time. Three months later and still being charged $12 a month. Had to keep calling and arguing for them to finally cancel. Was not offered a refund. Guess who will never go back in an FYE......

I work for FYE .. and if the cashier is doing their job correctly, they should be telling you that they are 3 free magazines for a trial of two months. After that they begin charging to your account unless you cancel them. Normally what we tell people is to cancel it a week afterward (time for everything to go through their system) if you do not want them. Also, the company (not the store, don't blame them) is supposed to send out a reminder card with canceling information about a month into it.

They told me they will get back to me in 5. business days the most wtf!!!!! Just to cancel the subscription I'm gonna keep calling back

I called and got a hold of a real person..but i guess they are trained to act stupid..and didn't even cancel it.. just kept asking questions why i wanted to cancel it and kept offering me things so I wont cancel...but i clearly told them I wanted to cancel but they don't stop sending things and taking money out of my account...i even canceled my card but they are back taking money.....its so annoying....

i eventually got a live person (with an accent, but spoke english) dont let them send you anything else in the mail, it will continue your VIP membership status and allow them to continue to bill you. JUST REFUSE anything they conttinue to offer and EVENTUALLY they give up and will cancel your membership.

as far as magazines go, i wasnt offered any magazine subscriptions....

Thanks for your help about staying on the line until I got to a representative.  They were continuing to charge me for the "free" magazines.

Wow this definitely sounds like a little scam they have going. i went to FYE back in jan.they told me to choose 3 "free mags" and ill get them for as trail period. i told the clerk that there was no need for them because i was only gonna be in texas for a short period and ill soon be moving to my next duty station in italy. she told me that i can just choose the 3 and not renew my subscription. so i did and here it is in april and i recieved 2 charges on my bank statement for $24.50 each... one was on the 7th and another on the 17th... and i still havent recieved any magizine in my mail box... but i took ur advice and the lady told me theyll refund my account and ill see it in 72 hrs...

I went to FYE too and signed up for "free magazines" for a period. Then, nearly 5 months later I got 3 charges for the 3 different magazines I chose. No clear means to cancel before the charge. On the bank statement, I had this number. Stay on the line w/o responding to the automatic "teller"...a/f about 5 minutes of the "silent treatment" your call will be transferred to a REAL person. Explain the need for a refund and you should get it within the next 48 hours. I'll see if the refund will come as the rep said it would.

I remember going to an FYE store in the mall and signing up in February for a magazine trial for like an extra $5, but now these charges just showed up.  I called the number and couldn't even get a real person on the phone.

This number is showing up on our bank statment. No idea who or what it is. Contact the bank to have them stop all payments to this account.

This phone number appeared next to an unauthorized charge on my bank statement. All that my boyfriend (he made the call on my behalf- I am hearing-impaired) can gather it is some sort of automated phone tree for a magazine subscription service?!? Just want some more details please!
