Call from this creep. Won't give name when asked but indicated he is from some bank. Calls 2-3 times a day. Very annoying. Does anyone know anything about this number.
Lisa 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
It's Juniper, a credit card company.
you need to go to the national do not call registry and add your phone #.
If you get calls after the waiting period, simple ask the caller their name, when they tell you say to them : ? I am documenting today at this time that I am telling you to remove me from your companys calling list, i will hold while you do so. they should never call you again

I to have been getting calls from 800-931-6388. I have contacted my master card account plus several number given to me after calling back on 800-931-6388 all to no avail. Some operators say it is not doing the the calling. But the calls continue. Nobody talks the line is clear for about a minute then disconnects. This has been going on for the past 2- 3 months. I am going to contact my phone service provider to see if anything can be done.

This number started calling yesterday, and I have received 9 calls with one just 2 minutes ago. I will not answer the call and when the answering machine goes on, no message is left.
Bride 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
They called me at 5:20 a.m. one day. I was quite irritated. Nice to know it probably is not the IRS.
nikita 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown

From the Do Not Call Registry website:
A telemarketer or seller may call a consumer with whom it has an established business relationship for up to 18 months after the consumer's last purchase, delivery, or payment - even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. In addition, a company may call a consumer for up to three months after the consumer makes an inquiry or submits an application to the company. And if a consumer has given a company written permission, the company may call even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.
One caveat: if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship. Indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.

Changed to Barclay Bank Delaware. I'm reporting them, I am on the donotcall.gov list...suggest anyone not on this list does. This invasion of my privacy will cost them money.

Kayla 2011-06-06 20:58:41 Unknown
They've called a few times. It is Juniper/Barclay banks & credit cards. Call the number back, it'll give you a # for removal.

a 2008-10-15 18:53:42 Unknown
Left no message. Have called a few times. Have no clue what it's for.
Liz 2008-10-14 22:57:05 Unknown
They call several times a day but do not leave messages. I am not behind on my payments to them. I suppose they are trying to sell me credit insurance on my zero balance?? Strange.
jwhoopi 2008-10-10 18:42:26 Unknown
First of all. NEVER GET THE CREDIT INSURANCE!!!! IT is a ripoff. Getting it just to stop the calls is ridiculous, all you have to do is tell them not to call anymore and they usually stop.
As to why you might want to use the card, first of all, there are severeal protections that a card offers over cash, such as being able to dispute charges, keep expenses organized, keep a record of the charges. etc. If you are renting a card, some give you free insurance. Some offer extended payment protection. Finally, if the merchant is someone you don't like, (electric co? Big multinational corp?) and you go to a small credit union and you like your bank, you can charge knowing that the store will lose 3-4% on the deal, while giving revenue to your credit union.
In addition to all of these, there is generally a 20-30 day grace period involved. So you get the use of the money for the grace period without paying any interest.

They keep calling, I just let the machine pick up, of course they never leave a message! I am not late and never have been on any of my cards, I am sure if this is what the call was about they would leave a nice message! LOL
bonray 2008-09-29 21:04:52 Unknown
I do agree that credit insurance is a rip-off. Don't get it!MsDaisy if you can afford to pay off your balance every month, then why are you using a credit card? That makes no sense to me.
MsDaisy 2008-09-06 01:38:52 Unknown
Why should I be harassed into buying their product just so I can get them to stop calling? If you'd do some research on this product and other "credit" insurance you would find out that they are a total rip-off. You are much better off to take the monthly amount of insurance and apply that to your balance. Or better yet, pay your balance in full every month. If you can't pay your balance every month, then you really have no business using credit cards.

Calls every morning never speaks. I hear them hang up the miniet I say hello. Who taught these people maners???
Jelly 2008-08-29 19:17:12 Unknown
I have a Juniper card that is in compliance. Not overlimit and not late in payments. They call, and I let it ring through to my answering machine. I believe they just want to sell me something, but they never leave a message, just keep calling without stating purpose. I called the number on the back of my card. The personnel in Phillipines could not help me but gave me these two Barclay bank customer service numbers. I voiced my complaint and feel it will be resolved.
The calls come from Barclays Bank. You can request them to cease and desist by calling one of these two numbers:
(888) 232-0780
(866) 443-7083
Try it.

Again, the DNC list ONLY covers telemarketers, NOT banks or other credit-issuing companies.
Arkansas Target 2008-08-19 23:37:55 Unknown
The most efficient way to avoid this type of call is to actually take the protection. It generally costs cents on the dollar (.40-.80, generally, for every 1.00 of your balance), they don't bill you separately for it (it's charged to your card), and it may actually come in handy for many people. Plus once you have it, it puts a total stop to idiots calling you trying to get you to take it. Note: some companies will still call you trying to interest you in a "lower interest rate offer"--these I ignore, because they always begin with "there's no problem with your card, however..." then they go into this offer. I figure I don't want to hear from them even if there *is* a problem with my card, so I don't bother to answer (they leave this message on my answering machine).
Arkansas Target 2008-08-19 23:27:55 Unknown
If you don't have a card, they may be trying to get you to apply for one. If you do, they may be trying to sell you some kind of "protection service" for it. It's a common thing for credit companies/banks that issue credit, apparently.
