Got a call from a woman claming to be from "Canon Warehouse" regarding our photocopy machine. She said she needed to update our office information in order to send us a safety manual for our copy machine. I was quite short with her and told her that we continually get calls from solicitors claiming to be calling about our photocopy machine. I told her it was deceitful and to please take me office their calling list. Then I hung up. She must have been really angry because she had the nerve to call me back to say that I need to call 1-800-932-7318 and tell them I refused her call. She also said if I have a problem with my copy machine it's all on me and I will have to deal with it alone. I then called the company we lease our machine through and he told me it was all a scam. These people sell company information to other solicitors.
Caller: "Canon Warehouse"

Hi I got a message from a blocked number wanted me to call them back at
1800 9329022 ext 3212. They said it was an important "business matter". lol it sounds like a load of BS.
BTW I ever get calls like these, I have perfect credit, but I did recently submit my information from a free birth chart and I am pretty sure this might be connected. The website O submitted my info to was:
(By info I mean first and last name and I think phone number was on it too)
Sarh Freder is the "psychic's name" and it was late at night. A quick google search yielded these results

Basically it is fake. Argh, the one time I don't check! lol

I am getting recorded messages from a woman, demanding I call 800-932-3022 ext. 3975 for a Mr. Egan. They do not say who they are calling, but they are threatening me with a law suit if I do not take care of this matter immediately. They do not explain what this matter is but complain that they have tried to reach me repeatedly. This is the second call of this nature. They are calling a business and no one here knows who they are or what they are talking about.

I kept getting calls from a private number and it was always a robot voice. It would call me dozens of times a week. I am used to getting the odd scam call or robo-call but these were annoying, persistent, and definitely harassing. The calls went to my voice mail a number of times and i called the phone number that was left by the robot. When I spoke to a person there she pressed me for personal information, which i would not give her and when I asked what she was calling about she told me they were looking for someone who I have never heard of. I asked her to stop calling me and she said my number had been removed. The very next day i received a number of additional calls from the private number robot, so i called them back and asked them to stop calling my number again because I'm not the person they are looking for. After a few more calls from the private number robot over the next couple days i had to request that they stop calling again. After asking them many times to stop calling I realized that they would likely never do that because the calls are made by computer. Filing harassment charges with the police is a long and tedious process so in the end I had to change my phone number.

It's TD Visa. If you missed a couple months of your minimum payment, they will just ask you to pay it through TD and you account will go back to TD.

Sure. Let's take the word of an anonymous scumbag.

As I ignored multiple calls from TD (thought they were trying to sell my insurance again), I actually returned the call from this company. They are an external collection agency and it was regarding my line of credit. which was very overdue for a payment. They ask for information: address, date of birth, phone number to confirm your identity. They are legit. I would not have given my SIN if they had asked, but they didn't. They are collectors working on behalf of TD when an account is in arrears. They will report a payment for you to your bank.

There is no legal reason why when you initiate a call you cannot disclose who you are. If you cannot be honest and upfront, stop calling...Pretty simple.

Got a call from this number. They were looking for a Darlene A. Willson. Now, that isn't me. But, a number of years ago, I believe she was a neighbour of mine living 2 doors down from me. I have no clue where she went to when she moved out of her place. They obviously have that address as her last known address, did a reverse address search, found me as living close by, and left the message with me. All the message said was to call (800) 932-9022 x530 something or other.

I received a call from this number asking for a person with a different first name than me, but the same last name. I asked them what they wanted, but they did not offer any information, they just kept asking for the person. I told them the person was not at this place, and they said good-bye.

If these scumbags are collecting on behalf of TD Visa it is a company called NORDON/NCN. They have a website and offices across Canada. They often use dozens of different numbers to avoid detection. Those who are harassed should record the dates and times called of any suspect numbers and forward them to the appropriate government agency that regulates colection services. You can also get a log from your phone company.

They had my numver and a wrong name and would not tell me why they were calling....
In fact when I asked they said they needed more info from me in order to help me.
I insisted they tell me who they were first, and they did NOT.
I hung up promptly.
If they are doing collecyions, I'd like to know id someone has my identity, becasue I do not own a TD Visa card.
They would not say how they got my number.

These guys are scammers. They claim that they are from a collections agency, or TD Green Visa. They are not. When they call they won't identify themselves, but ask for sensitive information. Do not give it to them. Report calls received to TD Fraud at 1-866-222-3456.

THERE IS A REASON YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS CALL. OBVIOUSLY IT IS NOT FOR ANY RANDOM REASON. IT IS QUITE LEGITIMATE DESPITE YOUR SUSPICIOUS NOTIONS. I HOPE THIS HELPS. OBVIOUSLY FOR PRIVACY ISSUES, WE CAN NOT DISCLOSE WHY WE ARE CALLING TO 3RD PARTIES. THAT IS 3RD PARTY DISCLOSURE AND PUTS OUR JOB POSITION IN QUITE THE PREDICAMENT. STOP BEING SOO NOSY!

I just recieved that lovely call from these scammers as well. TD will never never never ever call you and ask you personal questions such as sin # and 3 digits on the back of your credit card. These low lifes have likely come across your credit card number and only need the three digit security number on the back to treat themselves to a shopping spree on your expense. Best bet is to always go to your local branch, I just called td and was told my card is in good standing and they have no record of anyone there trying to contact me or does that number they call from belong to td or visa or an of their third party groups. Please people don't let these low lifes take your information, should you get a call from them call td let them know and they will tell you to report the call to the RCMP. These people are the scum of our society who can't get real jobs or any job for that matter and have to resort to this stuff, I bet they make their parents proud.
Also, I love how these scammers read these posts, notice the above post who claims they work at td visa? Do you really think a call centre rep is told to write these messages online and speak like a total goon?
visa number 4502 5636 3276 3477
security # 559
there's my info you scammers, now go spend my money.
Jasper 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
This company is a legitimate collections agency. I had them call me in regards to my Emerald Visa. In which I owe a large amount of money. They are quite secretative at first, however only for security reasons. I had no problems with them. They actually helped me work out a plan with the TD bank DIRECTLY to have a lower monthly payment. I now deal with the bank and still pay the bank my monthly payment, not this agency. Just be careful because there are scammers out there! But also give these guys a chance to help you!
Mala 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
Regardless of their legitimacy, all Collections Agencies are required by law to identify where they are calling from (their company name). Unless they identify themselves, consumers have no obligation to give them any information. Even if they have the wrong #, they may not talk about what they are calling about but are legally obligatwed to identify themselves. Whether they like it or not. And they bank on general consumers not knowing the collection laws in place to protect them.
Also, if they are calling for someone who does not reside in your home, you are fully within your rights to ask to be put on their Do Not Call List, which applies to them as much as telemarketers.
And of course, they dont' want any one to know any of that, otherwise, they could not force people into paying debts by hiding behind the lack of information provided to the general public. They know the laws, they just refuse to abide by them
Good luck all!

Received two calls ina row from different people there. Then a third call from an unknown number. I do owe TD Visa money, so perhaps they are a legitimate collection business. HOWEVER they are legally obligated to provide:
a) their name
b) the agency they represent
Also, if you instruct them to contact you only by mail, they are legally obligated to. I suggest anyone with a collection action against them brush up on the Debt Collection Act and the BC Consumer Protection Act.
The ridiculous anon. post above from the collction guy is probably fairly representative of how the company operates - breaking the law, counting on the ignorance of the people they are collecting against.
chong 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
this is a third party collection agency.they often call people with same last name taking chances they get the right party. They are collection agency for TD VISA. I had numerous call for a person who has same last name than me. In the phone book only my initial appears with my last name. Obviously they are looking for someone and calling my house. I ask them to stop and there was never a call after

Collection agency that regularly violates the law. they call and lie about who they are, they ask for sensitive information, and they leave misleading messages. This company is called Total Credit Recovery, based in Ontario: 225 Yorkland Blvd, Toronto, Ontario M2J 4Y7
If you feel you are being harassed or your rights violated, you can lay a seperate complaint for each violation. If you get enough complaints they may lose their license, or have it suspended.
This company has TD Visa as one of its big clients. **may also be affiliated with NCN/Nordon

OK, first of all if a collection agency call, do you guys have a contract with them? they are third party as long you consent to deal with them you are hoop.Second, they buy probabilities, if you contract with them
buy agreement or negotiation you are hoop. Third Google money is debt and the two faces of debt and uneducate yourself this is not a legal advice only a comment for education.
