Just got the call from "PC Speedy".  I'm actually a network security consultant, but I didn't have time to play today, so I just used the "Go away quickly" script (Ain't no compooter here).  They loose interest quickly when you don't bite.  Have a listen for a laugh.

It happened to me twice.  First I thought he was from Microsoft.  Would not deny it.  He went on to say I had error messages.  Went to PC speedy but told him a warning came up and I hung up.  Called several months later and he convinced me.  My father had just passed and I even gave him my credit card he wanted 179$ to continue to fix it.  I told him I couldn't pay it and why didn't he state that in the beginning of call.  He said no one would do it.  I said I would give him $90 he said okay and I got my statement and they gotvne for $179.  I am awaiting their call back but my credit card company said to dispute it. That they are scams.  I'm so upset with myself!

A man with a foreign accent called about my windows system. Finally understood he is from PC Speedy in Las Vegas, NV. I told him that I was not having any problems with my PC but he wanted me to get on it.  I told him that I was not interested in what he was saying and was hanging up which I did. He then called back and kept asking me why I hung up. I told him to take my name and number off his list and I hung up again

We are a business, we have multiple computers and locations. I received a call (at 2:30pm) from a heavily accented woman saying she was from PC Speedy. She started to talk and then a heavily accented man took over the call and told me that they have monitored our computer and that every time I went on the internet or did anything that my computer was being attacked by virus'.  I asked for the name of the company he was calling from, (PC Speedy) and the call back number, which was 855-264-9273.  I told him I would give his info to our IT department for them to call them back.  To which he said, "are you a business?", when I said "yes" he hung up on me.    This company is preying on poor people who do not have a clue about how computers or the internet work.  They should be shut down!!! Do NOT give these people ANY money or any private information about yourself!!!!

I got the call last night.  He said PC Speedy provided software maintenance for Microsoft.  He told me to go to start, computer, manage, event viewer, custom views, then administrative event.  This presented a long list of error and warning messages.  He asked me to try to delete one of them and I couldn't.  He then requested remote access to my computer to delete them, and that is when I smelled a rat.  He couldn't convince me to give him access, so he had his "manager" talk to me.  These people argued with me to get access, I grew tired of them and ended the call.  Reading these other comments, I am glad I did.  Don't be fooled by their Indian accents!

Got the call from a female telemarketer named, 'Dawson Melvin' representing PCSpeedy. As with others, the person spoke with a heavy south Asian (India, Pakistan?) accent and was very difficult to understand.

The call came from 212-077-4568. She gave me a call back number of 855-264-9273.

Same story: she wanted access to my computer to "fix" it.

We are registered with the  'Do Not Call' registry and I will use their online form to report these scammers.

Like the others, my wife got a call from PC Speedy informing her of a problem with her computer that they could fix.  Very convincing.  She accepted service.  Now trying to discover what if any damage done.  Certainly would like to hear from anyone else who accepted the service and the consequences.

A "Sean Martin" (w/ Indian accent) called me, insisting that my computer (which has been running slowly)
was GOING TO CRASH if I did not call 1-800-935-0798. I had already hung up on him twice. Very annoying scam.

Got two calls from this company yesterday.  They said their company name was CCD with the phone number 1-800-935-0798.  The caller had an Indian accent and in the first call wanted to speak to the "man" who worked with the computer.  I said they had the wrong number.  They called back in the evening and we peppered them with questions.  They gave CCD as the company name, the phone number listed above, and were eager to fix our computer.  When asked how they got our phone number, they said from where we bought out computer.  I said I'd report them to the FTC and their response to my husband was, "Please tell maam to shut up."

I just received a call from the same Indian guy "Dean Jones.  Totally sounded like a scam to me.  I did not give him information, even though he tried several times to get me to go to my computer and provide him with my computer name, etc. He also wanted me to call him back on 800-935-0798, and specifically said to ask for him at extension 33426.  I will not be calling him back.  Said he was calling from P.C. Spirit.

Recieved this call tonight from 1-800-935-0798. Same situation, Indian origin, hard to understand, said hello 3x, waited 30sec finally did state company as PC Speedy, and there were problems with Internet. I did state before this that I received an HP laptop as a gift. Before, this however, he asked if I was over or under 18, said over. He finally said that the problems were with Windows 8, specifically. My call came from Las Vegas, NV. Toss this number.

I feel terrible as well for those who are elderly or disabled who receive a call similar to this.

When these Indian men have a woman on the line they will sometimes start making suggestive remarks. Especially if the female on the other end is not cooperating with the scammer.

I think they do it to liven up an otherwise boring job.  I have read somewhere that  India has some sort of rape culture where women are not respected.

These kinds of remarks are going to happen when there is an Indian male scammer and a female potential victim of the scam.

I'd get an air horn and blast 'em if they say anything offensive.

I got a Saturday night call from this company, stating that my computer was infected/corrupted.  When I told them it was a scam & I'd report them because of "Do Not Telemarker" laws, I got in response: "I love you, I love you, I love you.  I found this exceedingly offensive.  This is not how proper business should be conducted!!!!!

Today they called my 85 year old mother with the same scam. A pop up opened on her computer after the phone call and showed all the programs that were slowing her computer down. She didn't have most of those programs as this was a new computer but she paid them $179 for the service...also a heavy indian accent. Anyway when my sisters and I heard about this we had her cancel her credit card and the charges. We still don't know how they got the IP address.

I have been receiving calls from this company all week.  The first time it was a woman who said that there were issues with my Windows computer.  I told her I didn't own a Windows computer.  Today I received a call from a man who said that the Internet was sending files to my Mac computer that would break it in the future.  While talking to him I Googled his company name- PC Speedy and told him that his company is coming up as a scam.  He replied that all computer companies will come up in Google as a scam.  I told him that I was on a Do Not Call List.  He continued talking with a heavy accent that was difficult to understand. The numbers are all 212-007-1180 and 212-063-4192.

I just received this call. 1/6/2014 3:30 PM. Guy's name was Eugene Wayne! Very difficult to understand, Indian?  same number 1-800-935-0798 to call back on when I got to the computer that he was advising me about. He said he was in Los Angeles, but the caller ID said NY.  Totally untrustworthy as he did not answer my questions. He also kept telling me he could refer me to his "Female" Manager to explain it further to me. I should have hung up immediately.

The Indian / Asian sounding guy called me this evening at 7:15 pm 1/3/14. Said his name was Raymond Jones.  Very difficult to understand his heavy Asian dialect, but I listened carefully as he wanted me to get my computer turned on so he could fix some errors that were being reported as having been downloaded into my computer from the Internet into a "hidden" file.  Thought to myself no one named Jones could talk like an Indian so I fished him for more info to this obvious scam. Told him my computer was in a different building and it was too inconvenient to get online right now.  Told him I hadn't received any errors over the last several months as he had stated.  He gave me the 1 800 935 0798 number to call him later when more convenient to me.  I asked him if he was sure he had the right person and he quoted my name and number but was off one letter in my name and one digit in my number. I think I confused him greatly as he was a loss for words and gave up.  Used the 800 number he gave to find this site.

You can also lodge a complain on the US Government's Do Not Call registry. I just did that, and I may contact the FBI as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
