Bad business practice. Overzealous PPH Mortgage again, calling to "collect" our payment several days before it is actually due!

I have been getting daily calls from Mortgage Service Center for over six months. They are asking for Sue Beaver. I live alone and there has never been a Sue beaver at this address. It is very annoying because they leave a message and it causes my answering machine to beep. I don't know how to stop the calls. May daughter has called them many times at the number shown above and explained that there is no Sue Beaver at this address. They have assured her that my number would be removed but I still receive daily calls.

508-425-4922 called me referencing my mortgage number and a 1-800-936-6518 number to call. I called it and it is the Mortgage Services Collection agency. Funny thing is I am not late on my mortgage. It is due on the 16th. It will be paid tomorrow by direct deposit........................

I get a phone call from this number at least once a day. This is a business phone number. How do I make it stop?

Called claiming late on mortgage. Never been late before. Asked for bank account number and information, said no, and they asked for social security. SCAM

After reading all of the comments I figured this was a scam but I decided to call my mortgage company HSBC just to make sure I did not somehow miss a payment. Sure enough I missed my payment two weeks ago. I never called this number back but it seems to be legit. It is a mortgage processing company that services loans.

I have received 2 calls from this number. My payment is not late. I have never in 20+ mortgage company called me! My payment was mailed in time. So there is no reason for them to contact me. Precede with caution. I will not be contacting this number.
Ella 2013-06-10 13:17:58 Unknown
I have just received another phone call from this number. Call #2. I'm suspicious. But it is the time of the month, my mortgage company should have my check. Perhaps there is a legit concern. I called my mortgage company. Not the caller ID #. I'm preceding with caution. Never in 20+ years has my mortgage company called me. Be careful!

Who are these people?????
whatever 2013-04-26 03:47:50 Unknown
They will for sure remove your # outa directory if you provide them with your full name
Whatever 2013-04-26 03:44:00 Unknown
They already do have the routing # and checking account information in front of them//they will also provide you the confirmation #
It's just to confirm that the person who is making the payment is the right one
Whatever 2013-04-26 03:39:55 Unknown
It does take atleast loan # to pull up loan info
I do understand that it's quite risky to provide your SSn but in such cases you should keep your loan account # handy
and even if you provide your SSN , it's of no use as it's hidden and you can't even copy it
whatever 2013-04-26 03:37:26 Unknown
nope dude,
It's PHH mortgage service center
And the calls you get is from a stupid automated dialler
The agent jus calls you once in a day
and if you respond to the call and settle your dues , You won't be getting calls later
So understand the fact and be generous towards all the advisors
They work for you while they're supposed to be sleeping

I posted yesterday, forgot to mention they keep changing phone numbers every day, please be careful. The #'s so far are 919-323-3557,919-323-3192, this 800#, and today was 919-323-8597. That is it so far today as of 12:15 eastern time. Good luck and God Bless.
Becka 2012-09-13 20:03:33 Unknown
Same as all of you. load of S%@*%. Do not give anyone that contacts you your SSS#, EVER. No personal info. Hang up and call the numbers you have. My Mort. Co. said they have no idea what it was about. Be vigilante. God Bless.

This is a big time scan. I am not behind on my mortgage and never have been. However, they had my loan # so it seemed legitimate at first. The number that shows up on my phone that continues to call me is from area code (512) out of Austin, Texas but they ask me to call this 800 number back. The automated system asks for your social security #, loan #, and banking #. DO NOT GIVE THESE TO THEM. When I finally was able to get a person on the phone, it was clearly a call center in India. I called my bank to make sure that I wasn't behind and they assured me that I wasn't and that they do not work with PHH. How are things like this not prosecuted?
Cory 2012-09-05 14:19:58 Unknown
Scam! The call about 3-4 times a day, which to me is straight out harassment. The automated machine told me I had an "urgent message regarding my mortgage" even though I have paid early every month. When I finally called the number back, the first thing the automated machine asked was for my social. It wouldn't allow me to go further without providing it. I gave them a fake one, and it was accepted.
I was transfered to some guy with a thick Indian accent. I told him that I wanted off their calling list, and if the message was important, and if they were truly connected to my mortgage, they can send me whatever they have in writing. He was nice and said he would transfer me to his supervisor (18003306423). I was transferred to a man with an African American voice. He was a little rude, and mentioned that they are a part of the bank that I did my home load with (he mentioned them by name). I told him I didn't care, to take me off the list, and if they need to get ahold of me to send something in writing to my address. He got pissy, and I hung up.
Contacted the bank that I did my home loan with, they have no idea who they are, and since they used their name, I hope they can charge these creeps.

they called from their collections dept about, and considering i didn't have a payment due for another month seemed like they struggled to explain why they called and then said it was their collections dept calling to remind me i had a payment due in sept. Sounds suspicious
Tackitt 2011-06-20 21:33:14 Unknown

PHH Mortgage Company calling as a "courtesy call" to remind me my payment is due.
asd 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
Call about late payment from PHH Mortgage Company.
sam 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
Im not sure the deal with this "company", but they wanted to resolve a late payment, claiming to be the managing company for my mortgage. I have my mortgage payment on direct withdrawl from my checking account. When it came time for me make the payment, the company rep. said they could take the payment from my account, but needed for me to verify my routing and account number to ensure they had the correct one. As I was not born yesterday I told the rep. to tell me the numbers and I would confirm, they could not produce them. Legitimate? Probably not, I cancelled the phone call directly, beware of "mortgage management" agencies who do not have any of your personal information.
Holli 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
This is a legitimate company. It is PHH Mortgage. I know, because it is my mortgage company. If you have a home loan through USAA, chances are, they are your mortgage company. They really do only call me when I have a late payment. If you get calls and they are not your mortgage company, chances are, they have the wrong number. I've had them for many a year.
nary 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
Left message to call back. I did. the person did not know who I am and ask too many personal questions, like how many loans I got and there numbers. Strange conversation.
me 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
it might be a fraud co. calling from PHH Morgage co.'s #.
go to Spoofcard.com and it'll explain it in a smaller scale.
matt 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
it's a legitimate company. they only call me when i'm late with my mortgage payment.
alan 2011-06-06 20:58:43 Unknown
This is a legitimate company. I also have a mortgage with them. They will definitely contact you if you have a late payment.
