Same as everyone else, only I always get American sounding callers. The calls are incessant, at least one and as many as 4 or 5 per month. I've asked many times to be taken off their call list and threatened them with legal action because I'm on the national do not call list, but they continue to call with the same frequency. Sometimes they will not give me a company name, other times they say Visa and Mastercard Services. The number they give me to call, 1 800 943-3250 does not answer and has a charge to leave a message!

I just had the same call as the other writers.  He asked if I had the credit card in front of me.  I said "hold on just a minute".  LEft him on hold for 5-6 minutes, when I came back, there was no one there.  Guess I wasted 5-6 minutes of his time with him thinking he had some dumb fish on the hook.  NOT!!!!  I do not have caller ID and I tried *57.  Could not trace the number.

Ladies and gentlemen,
If you take a few minutes to search on the Net about this topic, you can quickly realize that the Credit Card scam related to gifts and low interest rate offers has been going on since at least, 2003. I've read enough on this subject to come to the conclusion that these call centers (wherever they are located in the world) operate without any fear of being caught. They cause hundred of thousand dollars losses daily to the credit card companies and guess what? The credit card companies pass their losses to the users who are…you and me. As of today, these pirates call centers are still operating in full force across North America. They have found the loophole for escaping from FBI and RCMP. The typical “model citizen” usually reports the fraud to the attorney or local police. I have news for you. You can file as many complains as you want to the authorities, they just can’t catch them! You can threaten of reporting their annoying calls to the phone companies, you can swear, being rude, vulgar with them – They are the ones controlling the game. They just hang up (laughing) until they receive a call from the next gullible person (and the wheel keeps turning). Whatever you do or say, you won’t be taken off their automated calling list. I have to admit the heads of these scam acts like a computer virus. They are very much up to date with the changing law enforcement techniques and like a moving target, they disappear in the field.  You can find numerous blogs and discussion forums related to this scam (this one is one of them). For every thread on the Net that exposes their illegal activities, they have members posting a message denying complains of people who got ripped off. They introduce contradicting information in blogs in order to confuse people who are unsure the legitimacy of their offers. They have fake web sites, fake names, fake addresses, etc. Based on these facts, I think the only thing that can be done is to interfere with their practices. How can this be done? By “putting a stick in their wheel", hitting the weakest spot – their need to grab personal information from you. I’ve been practicing for quite a few times now and you’d be impressed by how patient they are when they feel that they have you as a fish on their hook. Again, the only power you have over them is to spend as much time as you can to waste THEIR time. This time you spend with them is time that they can’t use for screwing other people. From reading in some threads on the Net, here is what I started doing: the principle is to play the game of being interested by their offer, providing fake information, pretending, acting, and creating delays. I hear you say that you don’t know how to reach them because whenever they call you, your call I.D. shows: 123-456-7890 (or any other spoofed phone i.d.). Didn’t I tell you they were smart? Here are a few numbers that still work as of today: 1800-501-0100 (to reach the vacation trip scam) | 1 888-786-6201 or 1 800 943-3250 or 1 800-961-9830 (to reach the MCS credit card interest rate scam). If you need more numbers you can with a little effort “google” the name of the organization along with <1-800> in the search field and it should pull more numbers to call to. Finally, here is my recipe for a great "obstruction" session upon these scammers: 1) take a hands free phone (portable is even better as you can still conduct you home activities) 2) get them to go through their entire sales pitch by encouraging and acknowledging every once in a while 3) make it last as long as your time permits (they are the one assuming the charges of the “1-800” communication). 4) When you feel that they suspect your “game” (or when you’re bored whichever comes first), find a nice and polite way to tell them that they've just wasted 15-20 minutes (sometimes more) of their precious time stealing other gullible people. I guarantee you that you will get some reaction at the other end of the line. Give them a ride and flood their phone lines! Make their life as miserable as they do to it tor us. HEARING THEIR FRUSTRATION IS A GREAT REWARD AND PURE PLEASURE. Don’t be intimidated if they threaten you of anything, they are totally harmless. I can’t wait to hear feedback from you.

ALso got sucked in. Scammed them back with playing their own tapes back to the supervisor who said they had had difficulty with the outsourcing of telemarketers for their company making false claims and she would put in a refund, though by law she didnt have to as they had a recording of my agreeing to the charge.

She wanted me to sign a confidentially clause not smearing their company in return for getting my money back.  I said, send me my money and we will talk about what I am willing to do when its in the bank.  Until then, gloves are off and I will make your company life a living hell.

I got my money back a good month later  after more phone calls, more faxes.. more threats to supervisors, rachel, jessica and others.

Also got a call in November. I am in Canada. They used a BC address so I thought they were Canadian.  Sucked me in too. I have lots of credit card debt after going through a lengthy divorce, custody battle and relocation. I was ripe for picking and I got a good picking. Cost me 1200. Spoke to Jenna first, she promised 6.9%, gave the info and got charged in US dollars. Kicked up a stink and they refunded $400 of it to make it closer to the canadian equivalent.  Then I got busy doing some research and found this site.  Cancelled my credit card I had given them the access code for and filed a complaint.  ALso called the company back daily and harassed and threatened legal action and told them I had taped all our conversations  (going back a month) with each representative and would turn over the tapes and transcripts to the RCMP fraud division and also asked her how she liked the title of my new blog..... Mutual COnsolidated Savings Big Fat Lie  Scam.  It was due to be posted world wide the next day with the transcripts and dates, times and names and extensions of each rep they tried to cycle me through.  Kept that up until they agreed to a full refund.  That money is back in my account and all my credit cards have been cancelled and re-issued.  All I got for my 1200 was a computer print out of my debt and what payments I make each month and how long it will take for me to pay them off.

Good thing about it is in the end, I got MORE back than I paid as our dollar was pretty much on parr with the US when they took the money, and now its 25% lower, so thanks MCS!  Scammed ya back!  Rot in Hell

Received this call and thought that it was a good go, sounded legit, and the website looked legit.  they gave phone number with ext 500 her name was Amy, and once the hook was set, was passed to Micheal who restarted the same speal.  Once he confirmed that I agreed to this, I was passed again to a supervisor who was going to 'voice record the agreement and information', she stated that this was a one time fee of $499 US and could not be refunded, and if the CC company called about the transaction I was to authorize it.

After thinking about this, I called the CC company to cancel the card.  They informed me that there were 2 attempts of payment by MCS of over 700.00 US, both were rejected by them. I cancelled the card.

Got a call today from MCS accounting dept wondering why the transactions were rejected, I told them that it was rejected by the CC company, and that this was a scam. They tried to assure the it wasn't a scam but legit.

After that I called BBB about them, this is a legit company BUT has a "F" (FAILED) rating in all catagories, the complaints are registered in Washington, and Alaska, and Canada. There have been 69 complaints in 36 months.

Next step to find out whats next....

We also had a local number and checked it out. It seemed ligit. We know that interest CAN be lowered on credit cards, bank loans, etc. so that wasn't suspicious. We paid the $900-, got material, had a counseling session, and received more material. The advise from the counselor was only one thing which we already knew...nothing about interest rates. Actually she said. "We don't even worry about interest rates!" Today I contacted them by email complaining, asking for a full refund, and threatening a Class Action Suit. I will see what happens. In a few days I will call. Then I'll see.....I make a lot of noise, hopefully I'll get some results. Beware.

I just received the same call. I was extremely cautious when I answered their questions. Took everybody's name and extention numbers, received a confirmation number and I was told that I would receive a package in the mail and I am to fill it out and return it to them naming the name and account numbers of all my other creditors. It was $749 in US funds shich totalled $898.45 in Us funds. After I agreed to everything and told to have a nice day I came to my computer to check out the web site number they gave me and her I am. I called the credit card company with minutes of reader that it was a scam and they had already put it through my account. Now I have to wait to until they send me this package and apparently there is an area stating that you are cancelling, send it registered mail, keep tracking number and if it is not credited to my credit card they will go after them. I was go "GULLIBLE" My mother always said there is nothing for free in this world. I should of taken her advice. I hope you get to read this BEFORE you commit yourself.

I am from Quebec,Canada. I just received a call this morning, it was recorded and then I press 1 to talk to somebody. I talk to 2 women who seem to know what they are talking about and explain how it works and to a guy who gave me the confirmation # for the ''transaction'' that I just made. After I went to see their website, that seems fine. And I saw the comments on that company too. So I call back 2 times at this number and I was answered by a woman, not by an answering machine, who transfered me to David. No Indian accent at all.
David told me that few months ago there was a fraudulous company using MSC name but he says that they succeed to stop this company. I will give you some news about that in a few days. I cross my fingers that this one is a good one!

I was called by a machine on Fri 22 August @ 9:30 GMT it said that a form I had filled out to enter a competition had won a vacation for 6 days all inclusive to Cancun for four people and press 1 to claim your prize, as I know my wife is always entering these competitions I asked her if she knew of a form to enter a competition - It was quite likely.

I decided to press 1 and a guy answered with an Indian accent quite difficult to understand who then said congratulations you have won a vacation for 14 days and 13 nights including 6 days in Cancun then 5 days in Orlando Florida with free entry to Disney World and then 3 days in Daytona Beach for 4 people.

At this point I was very suspicious and asked him where I had entered the competition, he became uncomfortable and could not give me a direct answer and tried to avoid the question at this point he gave me his number: 1-800-943-3250

He then went on to say that all the info would be sent to me by post and repeated the vacation offer, now he asked me to confirm my address so I did. Next he said that I only needed to qualify 2 criteria to claim my prize 1 must be over 21 and 2 must have a visa / master card. He insisted that someone in my house must have a visa or mc, I went back to the "where did I enter this competition" question, he again avoided it and went on to say that the dialler had selected my number and that that was all the info he had as his company works for the promoter when I asked who the promoter was he said VISA and MC, I put him on hold while I discussed this with my wife and we decided this had to be a trick, no way would she have put her card details on a competition entry form.

I hung up........

I put his number in Google and came up with this site.

These people have moved on from Canadians and are now in the UK.

I got similar call from MCS by a Mr. Tony Adams, who claimed he could lower credit card rates to the prime rate. Seem almost legitimate - he even gave the number to call back - 1-800-943-3250 ext. 786 at a later date. The office gave me times they were open, etc. I called two of my credit cards and told me it was likely a scam.

same routine as all the others.  My callers were Jenny Parker and David Williams
both with very heavy Indian/Pakistani accents.  "David" got very upset when I told him I didn't believe that was his name.  Unfortunately, I had given them way too much info before being told they wanted $690.00 for all their help in getting my interest lowered.  Called and cancelled my card numbers immed. after
ordering them to void all my info. Will never fall into that again.
