Very rude lady called and said she was from FCS. I asked her to elaborate on what business this was. She said it was a FCS business, really rude. I have no idea what a FCS business is but she proceded to ask me what my SSN is. I don't give that out over the phone, not even to my bank. SCAM CALL!

Most agents that work as these type of companies behave rudely as to find out if the actual person lives at that number and also to try to get the person to pay up. If there is any doubt on there side, they will continue to harass you even if you are not the correct person who has the debt!

If a person had the money to do so, it would be easy file litigation against the majority of these companies, as they always harass people who are not at fault. Or find a good lawyer who would work with you in regards to the settlement.

DEBT COLLECTOR: Said they were FCS about a bill placed for collection with their company - in Arkansas I think.

Update - decided to do further research.  After some additional searches I found that there are a few companies operating under the same name.   I found an 800 # on the web site fefcom.com and decided to call them.  After speaking with a rather pleasant (surprising) individual I was given another number to call (501) 455-1658.  No harm done so far since I hadn't given up any personal information.

After calling the above number I did connect with a rather brash woman who wouldn't divulge any information since they were originally calling about a debt collection for my wife (on my phone # - which was the first clue something was wrong).  I asked my wife to call the 501 number and find out what the call was all about.  

My wife called and after giving them the phone # they was harassing me on the CS woman on the other end gave my wife the last 4 digits of the SSN on their file.  Surprise - Surprise - IT WASN'T my wifes, my or my daughter's SSN.

The moral of this story is that this was an apparent case of POOR research on their part - wrong woman, wrong phone # and wrong SSN.

Although I've had their number blocked - I don't expect to receive any more calls from them.  Case of mistaken identity - case solved.................

To those of you still dealing with this - do yourself a favor and call the 501 # above - ask them to give you the last 4 digits of the SSN on file and get them off of your back.  No risk to you since you shouldn't need to give them any personal information other than the # they're calling to prove you are the person being contacted.

Who knows maybe their 2nd grade level research has somehow involved you or maybe if all of their information matches yours then maybe someone has stolen your identity to rack up some bad debt.  Either way the innocent suffer anyway in some shape or form........

Don't answer these calls.  This is a phishing scam.  Call your cellular or landline phone company and have the number blocked.  Unfortunately, they are most likely using software that is readily available to make it look like they are calling from 800-943-9533 when in reality it is a scammer that it calling you from their living room, while sitting comfortably in their pajamas and watching an old episode of Dukes of Hazard.....

It is too easy to trick your caller ID capable phones into thinking that the call is coming from another number.  I called my company (Sprint) and had the number blocked and was told that they've received numerous calls from people who have verizon phone service, but yet were receiving calls from other individuals stating that their Sprint account was overdue - even though they don't have a Sprint account :)

Maybe FCS, if it is a real company, should do something about this.  They probably won't do anything  about it until someone submits a class action lawsuit against them.....

May the FCC should do something about this type of phishing/scamming in order to stop this nonsense.  HHMMMM maybe they could also address the issue of all of the emails that I get stating that I have 8,000,000.00 is a Kenyan account and all I need to do is give them all of my personal information.............

1-800-943-9533 been calling me for 3 months.  They have been increasingly calling me daily.  I picked up twice but no response.  I am on the do not call list and I'm bothered enough to throw my phone against the wall.  Please do something about these pesticide!!!!

I received a hang up call from this number. I called them bach as soon as I discovered it was a collection agency for verizon wireless. I asked the "lady" who picked up to take my phone nimber off their list, as I do not owe Verizon one dime. My son who does not live here and is not listed in the phone book, on this number may owe them. She said she'll do no such thing and advised me to dispute the bill and hung up on me.

I called this number back. They asked to verify my name. I said yes.  Then she asked to verify my SS#. I asked she was.  The second I asked that, she hung up.  Phishing

They say they're calling about a collection service debt, but they ask ME to provide my SS#. They told me my birthday, but they had it wrong, as well as my address. I'm not telling them info, I don't know who they really are. Also, the "debt" they cited isn't anything I'm associated with, and I've told them that repeatedly, but they call all day long, multiple times. It's really irritating.

We get the phone call from this number twice and day. The person on the other end if very rude when asking anything info about them and you arent the person they are looking for. One time they said they were from FCS.

There was an FCS in Illinois that was subpoenaed for harassing people for noncollectable debt back in 2006. I would guess it's the same group.

Anyone who doesnt what to disclose any info about their company is up to no good

I have gotten calls from this number on my cell phone several times.  When I call back, I get a recording that will then refer me to another recording. Same thing every time.  Last night, my partner answered my cell phone and there was an actual person on the line.  They asked for someone whose name was very similar to mine, but he said they had the wrong number.  I called back because I recognized the number and I too got a real person who tried to interrogate me because they found it "interesting" that when they said this name I asked who was calling--like this was supposed to prove that I was this person they were trying to reach.  It was the usual "business matter" reason why they were calling.  I called them this morning and complained about getting calls from them and they again called me by that same name, but said my cell number has already been removed from whichever person or account they're calling about. I specifically asked them what the name of their company was and what their business was.  They are "FC Financial Services" and they offer a "number of different services" when I asked if they were a collection agency or something.  Like they couldn't give a straight answer. I just typed that 800 number into Google to see if anything would come up and this forum did--thanks for sharing your info about these annoying and puzzling calls.

my husband has been getting calls from this number that he owes alltel we've already made one payment on it because he actually does owe alltel but when we call you usually dont get the same person on the phone and any other collection place has many other people unless you have a extension to them and when they answer they dont even sound professional when other places call they usually answer with the name of the place they r calling from this company that calls doesnt even say were they r calling from.

I ignored the calls from 800-943-9533.  Today a letter from them (First Collection Services 10925 Otter Creek E Blvd Mabelvale, AR 72103) said I owed Verizon $1500.  I DO NOT owe Verizon anything.  I called Verizon, and to make a long story short, someone from another state far from mine opened an account using my name and my ss#, ran up the bill, didn't pay, so Verizon cut them off and turned the account over to this collection agency.  I'm now working with the fraud dep't of Verizon.  I have no idea how they got my name and ss#, but they did.  It's one of those things that "happens to someone else" - until now.  I am on the Do Not Call List, but this matter does not apply to it.  In fact, it's probably a good thing the collection letter came because I had no idea my identity had been stolen!  And yes, I'm doing the credit reports, etc. and putting a fraud alert on my accounts.

They called for son-in-law soon the be x son-in law.

Just got a call... after reading the posts, decided to call back. Was a call for one of my ex-roomies who use to put my number down as an alternate contact. Guy was actually nice, which I didn't expect due to the previous posts. Knowing who they were looking for, more than likely a bill collector.He said he would remove my number from the contact list and he was sorry for any inconvienence. Maybe they fired that lady everyone else has been talking to!

This number called me at work, there was a message (I was on another call) all it said was "Hold for an important call" over and over and over, finally a lady got online and asked for me, of course it was in voicemail. Then she hung up. Never said who she was or what she wanted. I don't answer 800 numbers as a rule as they are usually for someone else and I don't need the hassel at work.

I never answer a 800 number but this time for days i had the same call  800-943-9533 and one day by accident I answered and it was an answering machine" this is a bussines matter just wait on the line" then I hang up. Since then they keep calling and leaving messages. It is a lady's voice.

Called here several times.  Told them not to call here any more and that I am on the do not call list.  The caller kept asking if someone lived here.  I told him no.  He got rude, and I got firm with him and hung up.

Please note this number 800-943-9533  Do not call list. When are you going to handle this call? It is sickening they feel they have the right to call a number and they don't even bother to check if it belongs to the person they are calling. There has got to be a law to send these people to jail for disturbing the peace.

yes, this has been happening to me too now for weeks.  Once I picked up and got someone saying that it was business related, but she wouldn't tell me what it was about until AFTER I gave her my social security number.  I refused to give it to her and kept asking who she was and why I was being called and she just hung up.  Yet I continue to get 3 or 4 calls a day.
