I too have been scammed, except every time I called these people they charged my account! I know I was dumb enough to let it happen, but now I have three charges in my banking account totaling $210, two haven't gone through yet. But as soon as they do I am disputing it. I am in the process of disputing the first charge. I NEVER received anything from these people!!!! It seem as if every time I called to complain they charged my account. SCAM. I can believe I fell for it because I am seeking something more. But damn people, our economy being the way it is, these bottom feeders are raking it in big time. 1-877-392-6473 is the number NOT to call. there seems to be only two people working the lines, the woman is Renee. I am getting a new debit card number seeing as though these people now have that information. Don't let this happen to you.

If they send you anything, they supposedly did their part and there is nothing you can do about it.

i called they said they would  send me information even without me paying anything [for a test]. two different people answerd the 1st was guy and 2nd was a lady named "ms pattell"and the 1800  number never workd for the customer  service so i called the 1866 number back to talk with them.
the lady said that they werent gonna send me anything but guy did.
he said because i didnt have a credit card and my dad wasnt home that ican  call the 1800 number or himself.
iasked the postal service in my area and they said it was a scam and that they werent offering any test.
they asked me  even though i was scammed if i was intrested in applying anyway.
there is no age limit there besides just being a jr in highschool.
but other than that i found out that the site they give u for the exam is a feony.and that there is no test.
they asked 99 dollars .
and supposly they send off the booklets from georgia.
she did not want to tell me where they were at.

" they should change some laws now ,dont u think.no scammers"

the lady pattell also told me b4 we hung up thanks for calling the express department. "strange"

I reported this advertisement to my local newspaper. (who of course was running it) They told me they cannot stop running it because it was legally paid for through an ad company.  I believe the ad company in question is "adsource" I plan on giving them a call but the newspaper made it clear I have no legal way of getting the ad to discontinue.  Also I am unsure if I can post something in the paper myself about not calling the number.  I dont know if that would be Libel against the ad company or not.

Looks like we Americans are screwed again

I will however be placing fliars up on the bulletin boards at college to make people aware.  If the governemnt cant help us well need to do it ourselves.

So now in my local newspaper the number to call to get the "job" is 1-866-497-0989.  I had been told the same thing about all the different jobs available, and that I am to pass a test.  I was told I needed to pay $99.00 up front, and that with the S&H it would be around $130.  I told them I don't have the money, would in a week or so knowing that this is more than likely a scam.  The man then gave me the number 1-800-944-4521 to call back when I was ready and my reference number was ASF5636.  Once I got off the phone I immediately looked up the number on google and stumbled across this posting.  I then called the local newspaper to tell them it was a scam so they could remove it from the paper.  I am glad that my instincts told me not to fall for this one!!!

An ad in the Hurlburt warrior has the same thing it says $20hr $57K per year. Only this number was 866-533-3167. I called and they told me the same as all of you. it seems as though the last post on here was back in 2007 but this is still going on folks. they got my address and right after that they said that it would be 99 dollars or somethinig and 120 something after shipping. right there i knew! SCAM! I said i didnt have the $ and they were like "ok thats fine we can work with you. When do you think youll have it by?" I said in 2 weeks maybe. the lady said well thats pushing it a little to far out. She told me to ask my friends and family members. I finnaly was like give me my confirmation number and ill think about it. ARS9945 was the number and she said to call 1-800-944-4521. This ad was in a paper on Air Force Base! Nobody is safe. Beware!

I just came upon an ad on Macomb Daily's website under job postings here in Michigan. Just like above, I called the number listed (which in my case was 1-866-641-6855) and through the recording the woman actually says "Currently there are no fees required by the US Postal Service to apply and/or take exams." In the beginning of this message it sounds as though it was recorded directly from an actual USPS hotline, because each time I called its starts in the middle of the opening sentence: "Calling about a career with the US Postal Service." The "Thank you for" seems to have been cut out. At the end of the recording I'm put on hold to talk to a representative for about 30 seconds, then a British sounding womans voice says that "there is a high number of calls and to call 1-866-498-6843" to find a place in cue." Once I called the new "Cue" line I was immediately on the phone with a rep. who told me the same as above, $129.45 was to be payed, I didn't have the cash so she gave me a reference number and a new phone number to call (1-800-944-4521) when I had the funds. Later when I told my Grandmother about the job she wrote me a check to get started. But then, I started thinking about all 3 different numbers and decided to look in to it a bit more. I went to the USPS website and found nothing on having to pay anything for a job. Nor could I find any listings for the aforementioned phone numbers. Gladly the last number they gave me I googled and discovered this page. I gave the check back and am relieved that I actually listened to that gut feeling and decided to research this a bit. I hope my comments here give you a little more insight as to what these recordings say and what to watch out for.

He told me that he can post date it to that day. I told the guy i did feel comfortable giving him my info and letting him post day it. i told him i will call back when i get it. he gave me the exact # 1-800-944-4521 to call and a customer# Apl2***. after hanging up with him. I had a weard feeling so i google the # 1-800-944-4521 and saw all this info. This so a Scam!!! i am glad i didnt give him no info.

Wow, this scam is spreading...$20 job/$57K annually advertised in Cincinnati Enquirer. There were two numbers to call, 800-498-3074 and 800-497-0224. Called one & (supposedly) got registered for postal exam; was told study materials would be mailed and I would get a full refund once I took exam. I would also get online access immediately. Upon getting my confirmation, I called their toll-free number, 1-800-584-1859, and no answer. Attempted to send an e-mail & got this site. Called my bank to stop payment & they said I would have to wait for it to process, then they would dispute the charge. Called USPS to inquire about this and was given the FTC contact info. By the way, USPS is not hiring in my area, nor is the test open at this time, to the public. Yes, we must file any & all complaints to stop this mess. I would not have given my personal info freely but this was unsolicited. I called them. Guess, you can never be sure unless you check them out on BBB before providing payment info.

Ok,I found the add also in the news paper in Olympia, Wa.So I sighned up for the book Postal Battery Exam study guide. And in 3 weeks I received it.It costed 130.dollars But they said that it could be refunded if i followed their easy steps. So I tried their so called easy steps and got nothing but the run around. first of all for some odd reason i could'nt log on to their website.--I know my phone # is correct they say it isnt.2nd of all, I tried calling their # and was kept on hold of 35.min. after the recorder said that I was the next to speak with their rep.So I hung up and called again and got hung up on because i did'nt have an agent #.Now what the.... is that I was'nt even given any agent #s. All it was,was a recording.Did I get ripped or what? I have followed all their steps, and they say that my information (that I use everyday) is incorrect.I call B.S  they still have'nt heard the last of me. I'm on to them.

Beware of the British voice for the US Postal job????. I guess it makes sense to a scammer to use a pleasant voice like some young woman out of an Avengers episode from 1966. Or maybe she was one of Doctor Who's companions.

I called on behalf of my wife who is Russion. They never questioned the fact she would need an interpreter. I work for the federal government. The feds will never ask for credit card information or ask you to pay a registration fee for a federal job. The jobs are listed on USA jobs and nowhere else. The USPS does endorse a guide for the exam that costs about $14.95 and can be ordered directly from their site. I cannot believe these scam artists can stay in business. I suggest you inundate them with calls about reporting them to the Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission.

I have seen this ad on our in a FL newspaper called The Flyer but with a FL number 954-972-0225. When we called the guy "Leo Torres" told us to give him our whole info. including our credit card number for the $99.00 for the exam. (because the S&H was free at the time). Since we didn't had the money he gave us the 1-800-944-4521 with ext. 4301 to call him back and also gave us another way of paying through Money Grant which would be &130.00. Then we got curious and check the US Post Office website, and found out that you don't have to pay for the exam, just make an appointment for the test depending where you are. So BE CAREFUL, MONEY HUNGRY B.....!!!!!!!!!
