Scammer is onto a new trick.   Called and played a robo call message about pressing 1 if I had shopped at Target between Thanksgiving and just before Christmas.

I guess they wanted my card info?    I didn'r get to hear all of the message - it cut off and hung up on me when I pressed 1 to speak to a live associate.

The number comes back as not in service when called back.

What you're not getting is that the caller gives you a real, working phone number for Chase  or some other bank. Essentially, the caller, who IS a scammer and is phishing for your financial information, realizes its best to end the call (this is a two-call scam). At that point, (s)he gives you a real working phone number and if you call it, you'll think the call was indeed from the bank. They may then try again with the same shpiel because at this point, you'll believe they are legitimate.

It is a scam.  The  1800945-2000 is a Chase Bank number but that is not who is calling you.  No bank ever calls to see if they can lower your interest rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The number may be a legitimate number for Chase but the person calling is a scammer. Chase does not call random people.  I received a call and I have NEVER had any kind of acct with Chase.  Whoever is on this site trying to convince all of you that this is on the up and up is also a scammer.  NEVER GIVE THESE B*****DS YOUR INFORMATION.  Simply do not answer the phone.

I received a voicemail asking for a call back to 1.800.945.2000 and saying that there had been suspicious activity on my "JP Morgan credit card account".  I don't have a credit card with Chase.  I called the number back and the first thing that the woman who answered asked me for was my SSN.  I did not give it to her, and she transferred me to the "fraud department" where a male asked what phone number had been called.  I gave him that number and he confirmed that no accounts were tied to that number.

I then looked up Chase's fraud reporting number online, and called it.  Chase confirmed that neither the 1.800.945.2000 number nor the number that showed up on my caller ID (614.776.7070) were actual Chase numbers.  I can only guess why there are people in this chain claiming that the number is valid, but if you have any doubt that this is a fraud, look up Chase's number and call them yourself.  They will confirm that these calls are not coming from or going to Chase.

Rose,
I just received a call from the same caller.  I have reported to my bank.  I found it interesting when they called they didn't even know my name.  They called me Rose.  When I advised them I wasn't Rose,
they began back peddling.  It does concern me that they have my address and my home ph#(which I
pay for an unlisted #!)

I called my credit card company just to verify & they indicated this was a 3rd party provider.  Not affiliated with my credit card company.  It appears to be legitimate but when the say they will lower your credit card bill, there is a fee they also charge.  This is what I found out from my credit card company.

I received a call that caller ID showed as fictitious, 512-410-0000.  They played a recording stating this is my final notice to contact Cardholder Services.  I pushed 9 and a foreigner came on the line (sounded mid-eastern) and he asked me for my Visa card number.  I asked for his callback number and he said 800-945-2000.  I said I'd call him back.  Before I could dial he called me back, from another fictitious number, 321-999-0000 and asked me for my Visa number.  I hung up.  This is obviously a fraud.

This Indian-sounding individual called to tell me how he can reduce my credit card rate.  I've gotten these calls from them before, so I kept asking questions like I really wanted to get the service.  I teased out the 800 number, which sounds like either they made it up, or they really are fronting for Chase.  Any idea which?  He also gave me a partial address, "14061 Bursomething, Orlando FL"
Finally I popped him with the "You are in violation of the Do Not Call Law, so put me on your do not call list"  He got rude and hung up.
Whoever these goofs are, they are an Indian call center, they are very rude, and they need to be shut down.

This came as a computer generated phone call.  I selected an option from the menu as was transfered to a call center.  They were unable to identify who the company was saying first they worked for sears credit and then that it was master card and visa.  Finally, they said they were with Experion Credit Bureau.  When I asked to talk with a supervisor, they said he was at breakfast (this was 3:30 PM) but insisted they were in florida.  I asked for a phone number to call the supervisor and first he gave me 090078601.  When I told him that was not a valid number he asked how I knew that.  He finally gave me 800-945-2000 as the number for his supervisor.  I figured it would be fun to play with him a bit and keeping him on the phone would just cost his company more money by wasting his time.  After a while, he indicated that by selecting an option from the menu, I had been transferred to a 900 number and was now going to be charged for the call.  I did assure him that I would not be paying and once he hung up, I called Fairpoint to report the call.  Fairpoint assured me that because I had reported it that they would reverse any charges relating to the call.  They did say that they would not be able to see the charges until the company billed them so I'd have to wait till it showed up on my bill.  Once it did show, they would take care of it.   So, be sure you call the phone company as soon as you hang up from the call to register your complaint and establish a basis on which the phone company can give you credit for any charges.   Wish there was a way to catch these guys...

Received a call with caller id showing Unknown Name 462-000-2988.  Was told the company was based in Florida and called Credit Card Services and they work to lower interest rated.  They said they got my phone number from Experian.  When asked to be put on their do not call list, caller stated that it would cost me $695 to be put on their do not call list.  Was given two numbers by the call for the company, 800-945-2000 and 800-345-3825.  Caller had an Indian accent.  (Note:  My number has been on the Federal Do Not Call List for over a year.)

I received a call from 739-000-8262 from "Card services" from a recording that said if I wanted to lower my interest rates press 9. When I did, a woman came on the line and said she was the negotiator for VISA and Mastercard, did I have a valid account that I would like to lower my interest rate. When  I became suspicious she put me on the line with "Travis" her supervisor. I told him that if I wanted to go through this process I would be more comfortable initiating the call. At that point I asked him for his number and he told me it was 800-945-2000 and then he hung up on me.

I recieved a call today (number on caller id was blocked) telling me i could lower my interest rate on my credit card...my last chance of course...i knew it was not a legitimate bank because i have never had a credit card.  I gave a fake name, asked if it was from the Federal Union bank (which i made up) and he said yes, i gave a fake account number and he said my info was all valid!  i then tried to get information.  "Michael" from "Account Services" in Orlando Florida told me his number was 1-800-945-2000 and his supervisor was named "David" but he couldn't give me a last name. I called the number i was given and it was Chase bank.  It is clear these frauds are using a legitimate Chase bank number but that is not the number they are calling from! Everyone should know that a bank will never call and ask for personal information!
