been receiving calls from 800-947-2987 on cell.... not too frequent, but often enough to be annoying... never answer and there is never a message... but the last one came in before 9 am.... very annoying.

I never lived in OHIO. I don't know how you got my cell number but stop calling it!!!

Hi!  If you don't them to call you can send a letter to request no more calls.  CAs can use local phone numbers.

To day someone call me from their cell phone demandingI call this number 1-800-947-2987.  Now lets turn the the table on them.  the person who call me call from this number  347-682-4588  Let call her all thimes of the day and night see how she like it.  Have fun with this.  I bet she won't be calling people up again

Robocall for unknown person: "This is Neil from CBCS...blah blah...attempt to collect a debt...call 800.947.2987"

This call came through with a "local" caller ID, one that has a prefix that shows up for a lot of suspicious calls.

BEWARE of all collections calls. Too many are scams these days, collecting debts that aren't theirs or fictional debts.

ALWAYS insist on written documentation of the debt. Never make payment over the phone or give them info. Too many are just out to steal your money. Verify, verify, verify.

I am recieving collection calls for something I dn't owe

I get mail with this CBCS on it and it is a collection agency for a Heating Company in Wisconsin. If you look on the letter they send you it has the Company name and Account # associated with the company they are trying to collect money for. If you want to know if this is a legit collection agency for companies, I would find out either by the original company itself or google the collection company.

I was getting calls from these people. It was a debt collector for a bill that I for 63.90. While I get this was my debt, the harassment for 63 dollars was astounding. They called me up to 5 times a day always hanging up after 2/3 rings. I called to settle the debt and this is where to BEWARE - it's 6 dollars to pay over the phone. They give you a web site address to pay it but after you create an account with your SS#, the %$@# site doesn't work. So they now have your SS# for no reason. If you owe, send the check - don't bother calling these idiots.

Dallas, TX. Receive calls from them regularly. No clue who they are. Only debt I have is student loans and I  have never been late once in over 5 years. I have no other unpaid debt floating around. They don't leave voicemails, as if I would respond to them.

Just received a call from this number, no ID on it. I usually ignore these but I'm tired of calls to my phone for no reason. Only debt I have is student loans and I pay on time every month for the past 5 years, more than I owe. No way it's for me. I answered the phone and let whomever was on the line sit there and listen to my TV on blast. They hung up after 10 seconds.

Yes I have also received the same foolish message that I have this outstanding debt...the thing is for the period that they were referring to...I was in a foreign country!!?

This number keeps callling morning and night, and I do not answer.  However, on my phone, they are listed as CVCS.  I get so many 800 and 866 numbers I do not answer any of them.  Most of the time these people are foreign and either taking a survey or trying to "give something away."  Got a call the other day from someone claiming my loan had been approved for a car, and just how much did I need?  I kept telling the man (could hardly understand him because of his accent) I had not applied for a loan and he kept telling me I had.  I finally told him not to call me again and that I was on the do not call list (a joke) and I was reporting him.

These people call every day and I never answer.  They never leave a message so I don't know who they are.  Its super annoying though!! Been going on for a few weeks.  Everyday at least twice.  They call early am and late pm.

Got a call from them a few minutes ago, I usually pick up my phone but since its an 800 number and I've had issues with these numbers in the past I decided to look it up online. My search brought me here and I know who they are and that they are a debt collection agency. I don't have any past due accounts so I know they have the wrong person. Ofcourse they didn't leave a message either.

I had an issue with another debt collection agency called allied interstate that would call me 2-4 times each day and when I would answer they would be quiet on the phone and hang up on me. This happened for 2 months until I picked up the phone while on bluetooth one day and a live person was on the phone. They asked for some ladies name but I told them they have the wrong number and told them about them calling me constantly and that I would speak to my attorney and sue if they kept it up. She told me they would remove me from their list and that it would take up to 24 hours for the deletion to take effect. I never received a call from them again.

I guess I will have to go through the same hassle with this company if they keep calling me, so far this was their first and only call so far.

Recevied a call from this number 800-947-2987 this morning; person with less than perfect English asking for a name "similar" to my deceased mothers name.  Told them wrong number and disconnected - then realized they were probably looking for my mother (she died in 2010) so I called back.  I have no clue how they got to me as my name nor number were associated with her bills.  Got yet another person with dreadful English who confirmed they were looking for my mom, company was CBCS I explained that she was deceased since 2010, he was polite and said he would remove my number.  I explained also that I had paid ALL her bills personally when she died and whom were they collecting for....he could not tell me that without mothers approval, um what?  She died and cannot approve his discussing with me.

I did get a call 2-3 times per day from this phone # first. I usually not pick up 800 number, so I check on internet and found this website. They are still kept calling me but I won't pick up the phone too. They didn't leave a messege. Do you know that they will give up calling me ? In term of correction debt, I know it for sure that I don't own anything. I just pull credit report to buy car and house. My record is very clean.  OR what should I do about this ?

I started calling them at all hours of the day like they do to me but i gave them a recording to call the Philadelphia District Attorney's office-what do you know, they stopped calling me for over 3 weeks!

I am tired that this people call me every day csbcs collector bill and they dont leave me alone please have them stopped call me everyday for bill collector that I dont have the money and job. The more they harrassment me and they stopped calling because dont answer the phone if I dont reconize at all.

Got my 1st cellphone in 8 years back in July 2010. Within a few days of receiving this new cell phone I began receiving  frequent calls from 800-947-2987. They originally left me voice-mails claiming they had information they believed I was unaware of and that unless they received a call back from me by the end of the business day they would be forced to make a decision without my input. They did not share any info other than that, and they never share the company they were representing. From this I concluded that they had nothing of interest to me and I have never called them back nor will I ever take their call. My assumption is that they are a collection agency trying to reach whomever it was that had my cell# before it was assigned to me. Regardless, they clearly are slow learners because after nearly 8 months of no response from me they continue to call me every day.

These people hae been calling me night and day.....they are a collection agency......just tell them to remove your number and they will start calling....even if you are being called for collections.....HA

I get calls between 2-3 times per day from 800-947-2987, I check the caller i.d. and let these go to the answering machine where of course they do not leave a message. I figured they were either a scam company or calling for the people who previously had my phone number. Thanks to everyone for providing information about this company and confirming what I thought these calls were. They can keep calling but I'm not going to answer.

They have called my cell phone for the last 5 days in a row so I called them back and bitched them out. They say they have removed my number but my phone has an option to deny calls so I denied their number as well. Don't know who these people think they are but, I don't owe them anything and if they call again; I'm pressing charges.

Calls made to and left at a location of a friend. When I called back I was put briefly on hold and then disconnected.
