I received a phone call from this number today at 8:00pm which I find very odd and unprofessional. I do not understand why this number is calling me and not the insurance company of the other party. Are these people for reals? Can your license really get suspended? I do not understand why I was not contacted within a 30 day period. Why it took almost 6 months for them to call me.

If these people were legitimate they would not be hiding behind "Private Number" when they call.  Also, the woman who called mumbled almost every word and I had to listen to the message over 6 times.  Of course, she didn't leave her name.

I just got two letters from them on the same day for $1,800. The letters were exactly the same. Eager much. First of all, the whole claim dispute has been settled for a couple of weeks. The letter said I was uninsured or under insured during the time. I had full insurance during the time of the accident. Also their letter said Re: Infinity Insurance (the other party's insurance company). So they make it seem like the other guy's insurance company contacted CRS to get the claim amount from us. So I don't know. Looks like these guys went incognito for a couple of years, and came back with a revised plan to scam people.

I was googling CRS. because I receive a letter from them. I had an accident and I had only collision insurance. I thought other car's insurance co is claiming $4000. but I didn't have that much money and... I don't think the cost of the repair is that expensive!! When I call them, YES they gave me a payment plan and told me to pay by checking account. So that the payment can be reduced.
Many of you said go to AG's office. That's what I am trying to do.
I am really afraid that if they suspend my license. Could anyone tell me what should I do after I visited to the AG's office??

This is a big old scam.  Like the above responders, I had these yahoos hound me 3 days in a row, from some "calling center" (probably an inmate work training facility) in Arizona, "in reference" to the aging memory of an accident that happened 6 months prior.

My insurance had been lapsed at the time but it had already been determined a No Fault situation by the claims inspectors and the other vehicle got nary a scratch (while mine was totaled).  Anyhow, these fools, clammering through an assault on the English language so ghastly it exhumed buried memories of a recent Mal Gibson historical documentary, went on to inform me that if I wanted to take steps to protect my license I need to press 2.

I pressed 2; what do I know, right?  So I got transferred to another speech impediment whose long question ended with, "58730828495 dollars" and "would you like to set up a payment plan?"  I answered, "Absolutely not" and asked her if there was some way I could verify their, their, oh I dunno, company?

"Verify what?" she slurred.

"The legitimacy of your company, I'm sorry it's just I've never heard of anything like this."

So she mumbled the name of a website, and here it is:

www.claimsresource.com

Check it out for yourselves while I risk legal penalties.

Dear Whomever,
You have been in contact with me telephonically for the last few weeks regarding the above mentioned claim. Please address the following.
1)    I have never been presented with a valid, (or invalid for that matter) accident report. I believe this would include date and location of incident, description and license # of vehicles, address and names of those individuals involved and any damages incurred.
2)    Your demand letters and phone calls have not been substantiated with facts or documentation of any consequence other than your meaningless claim that you can have my license suspended. I believe you know this and you will handle this in a more informative, congenial and professional manner.
3)    Your alleged client, AAA, has never attempted to contact me regarding this claim although my agent has inquired regarding it without success. I believe there must be an actual claim # that may be addressed through AAA?s offices and is substantiated with valid proof of loss or at least itemization of inconvenience.
4)    Your letters allude to the claim that I, my agent or others in my employ or with my permission caused damages in the amount of $1,074.73. Is this correct? I believe you will send me a valid proof of this claim or a filed court document that addresses this matter.

In conclusion let me thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to resolving any matter I may have regarding loss caused by myself or my agents. I believe you are a real, valid company who pursues its business in a moral and legal manner to the limits of your abilities and the posts on 800notes.com are all from disgruntled ex-employees.

Thank You

well it started out that i got into a minor (no damage no medical) accident while i was uninsured. I thought my geico was extended to six. although the other party did have insurance, he did post a claim with his geico insurance. I am now three months later living at my parents house (theyre retired) and they have been harrassing them to get me to call. everytime i call i get a stupid automated call system
that says theyll threaten to take my license away.
I googled the number and got to this website.
sounds like debt collectors are using unorthodox approaches to get their message across

Called me multiple times few times a day, left "account refrence number". I called back, the guy said this is regarding the accident I was involved in a year ago and I owe them XX thousand dollars for "reimbursement".
There was an accident, I hit a car while driving my byfried's car. He had to add me to his insurance policy and his insurance company paid the claim.
I told that to the guy who called and said that I personnaly spoke to both insurance companies (my bf's and the person's that I hit), they got claim setteled a year ago and I never heard from any of them or the person whom I hit again.
I told them to call my insurance agent and offered a contact # and name. They refused to take the call and said they will need my licence # and claim #. I told them if they want to they can call my agent and refused to give any additional info. They called multiple times after, sometimes were very rude. Sometimes asking for credit card. I reported them to FBI. Seems like total scam.

Called me multiple times left "account refrence number". I called back, the girl, who barely spoke English, said this is regarding the accident. Well I've never had any accidents. So I told her that she needs to cease calling people with her scam. I told her I know where she lives and if she calls me again, I would come there to chop her up into little pieces and feed her to my pet alligator. She hung up rather quickly!

Dear Moneyman,

Guess what? I just got a letter from the Office of the Attorney General of California, the honorable Edmund G. Brown Jr. This letter came in response to the complaint file with his office regarding the CSR. Attached was a letter from Mr. Skip Woodstock who can be reached at 1-800-949-5655 Ext 139 explaining the Attorney General Office that they tried to contact me via Phone and Mail between 4/8/2008 and 9/15/2008 regarding an accident claim and that I did not respond back to them.

First of all I never received any calls and/or letter from these guys in the above mentioned dates and moreover no written letter and/or claim came via the USPS, so is this guy telling the real truth? Also why do you call using restricted numbers? So people can?t call you back? They claim they got the case from Geico, well none of the parties involved in the accident had Geico insurance.

The story is that they have closed the case and will not pursue any more. Looks like everyone needs to take the same route here and if more complaints are filed against them then we will see a bigger investigation that will put these guys out of business. Contact your State Attorney General office and file the complaint and don?t pay them a dime.

If they find you claim to be valid, Ag's office will bring legal action against that company for violating a lot of collection laws.

OK everybody,
I have the 411 on these guys. I am a legal assistant working in the state of Washington. I am not an attorney.
First of all, Steven, the manager for the Un-insured Motorist's Division (IF that's who you really are), i.e. (Collections), You're a dick!!!!

Yes people, CRS is for real. Yes, they are a**-holes, but unfortunately mean business. Their role is Subrogation (basically Shylocks).
They are collector's in a real sense, however they re not collecting on what is considered "Debt" as defined by he FDCPA.
......"any obligation or alleged obligation of a consumer to pay money arising out of a transaction in which the money, property, insurance, or services which are the subject of the transaction are primarily for personal, family, or household purposes, whether or not such obligation has been reduced to judgment."....................

Basically, when a claim goes to subrogation, they call you and try and get you to pay for the accident if you didn't have insurance at the time of the accident. When they call, don't draw you're sabers out just yet, acknowledge who you are, simply ask them for their contact information, tell them you'll call back, and thank them for calling. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION! Depending on what state you live in, the States' Circuit of Appeals has ruled on the jurisdiction for subrogation as it applies to the FDCPA. Do you're home-work wherever you live!
Subrogation can be a good option. They are willing to work out payment plans. If they can't get you to voluntarily to pay, the will send the claim to a legal team to see if the claim is worth pursuing. If it is worth pursuing, then the next step is to begin the leal process which involves entering a judgment against you in a state court of law.
Generally you first have to be served with a Summons and Complaint, you have a certain amount of time to respond and can go court. At this point you can make you're argument and IF you lose, you incur legal fees on top of the damages. All of this starts to get expensive, and a Summary Judgment is entered. (This is all down from a 3rd part attorney's office, not CRS itself (as far as I can tell, they may in fact  have their own internal attorney's).
Anyway, once the judgment is final, the attorney's office can garnish your bank account, wages, or lien your house.
((((( A side note here is that this is all f****d up because insurance companies are for profit companies. Consumers pay monthly insurance fees to cover themselves, and when an accident occurs, the insurance company wants the their money back for paying out an an accident that was already paid for by all of those monthly payments (if you're a long time customer). Yes it is acknowledged there are laws against not having insurance, but those are not under criminal jurisdiction: they ARE CIVIL laws. ))))))))
If all else fails with attempts to seize assets such as garnishing your wages or you bank account(s) (ps if a judgement is entered, close your account and put your money under your mattress where they can't touch it), A LIEN CAN BE PLACED ON YOUR LICENSE. This sucks!
Your license immediately suspended until you pay or the statute of limitations runs out at which point the attorney's office has to file a new judgment in order to continue liening you license. *******But, It is a fact.*******
In conclusion, this is a tort claim and as such the collectors calling you have to abide by certain moral and ethical standards dictated by each individual's state Laws' regarding the FDCPA & FTCA as they pertain to SUBROGATION (again, do you're homework!)
If you feel you are being violated by harassing statements made by the CRS representative calling you like:
"we're going to bring the heat on you" ,
 " You will be arrested",
 " You're going to jail",
"You're a criminal" or ANY language used to humiliate you or put you down in any way, then you have a legitimate CLAIM to file against this company with your state's Office of the Attorney General.
Also, if you receive deceptive mailings with billing statements mailed by any other letterhead than CRS or an attorney's office about CRS's claim, you can file a complaint with your state's Office of the Attorney General. CRS will not take that complaint lightly.
At these point it's up to you to try and work it out through the subrogation process, but DO NOT LET THESE MOTHER F****R"S PUSH YOU AROUND!

Sincerely-  a legal professional
Jack
