I also have American Home Mortgage. I am hearing impaired and just think of that when trying to understand the India people's accent. They talk like 1200 wpm too. If someone has head phones on, I can't hear them, and/or a recorded phone call. Doesn't matter to them. They advertise that if you have lost your job due to no fault of your own, they will work with you. Well I have called and called and tried to make pmt on their web site. They have screwed up my account so bad, that I spent two days and countless people trying to get me back to my account. They deleted it, reentered it, over and over again, but to this date I still can't log in and make my pymt. I have told them so many times that I am trying to live on 1100.00 a month as no one wants to hire a 63 yr old almost deaf woman. It was countless tries to get them to say, oh, well I'm sorry no one actually 'heard' me tell them my hardship. I will send you a package to complete for help. That was 3 months ago and still no package. I could go on and on with this. But the companies that outsourse to India....SHAME ON YOU!!! I NEED A JOB, must I move to another Country to get one???????

Same story with us, Its the motgage Co. My husband spoke to a Rep 3 days ago and made a payment and a payment plan to get back on track by the end of July. We are 2 months late. ( I know alot of people are way worse off then us and I am so sorry for all of you)  It sucks, the economy and Obama thinks all is well. These people call 5 days before the payment is due harrassing us for the payment. All from India and you cant understand a word. I asked to speak with a supervisor who was so nice from Texas. Our Country is in the s*** hole because we let 3rd world countries work for under Min wage and here in the USA   we NEED the jobs...............Thats what pisses me off. These arrogent idnorant Indians telling me what to do.

I've had the same problem with AHMSI as well...they cash my check, yet they call me and say my payment is late.  I hate dealing with them.  Most of their representatives are from India I think and I can barely understand them.  I asked once for an "english" speaking representative and when that person came on she got mad at me cuz I was being prejudicial.  I wasn't trying to be.  I just couldn't understand the guy that was originally calling.  I so want to get out from the company,  but I don't want to re-fi...why should I have to eat $8000 in refi costs?...

OK, so Citimortgage was my original servicer of my loan and yes, I was late on payments and the loan was an interest only loan.  I took this out in 2008 and even with a 789 fico score the only lone I could get was this one.  I was late and was offered the Obama plan-before they checked things out first like they do now--they cut my payment in less than half of the interest only.  Took them ten months to figure out I didn't qualify. Of course, they then said I had to pay all of the back arrears since the payment was cut in half and I didn't qualify.   Started working on a in house modification with Citi and almost to the end--they wholesaled out the loan to Invesco or Resi Whole Loan IV and serviced by AHMSI. I started a modification with them and was told under no circumstances would my investors change the terms of my loan.  I then asked them to please put the 63,000 interest only back into the loan since they refused any other help.  Interest is still 6.875 since AHMSI stated it wouldn't change the terms.  At the heels of auctioning off my house they sent the modification papers that stated that the loan had been converted to a principal and interest which raised the payment 1,000 a month.  I asked why, since they stated over and over that my terms could not be changed, did they do this.  I think it was an error that they weren't about to fix.  I think my investors wanted to get that principal while waiting for me to fail in making the payments.  With these payments I am 6 weeks late again after pay this for 7 months and they are just waiting for me to fail on this loan.  Also, the December statement stated that I paid 90,541 dollars in interest because of the arreas-all interest-being tacked onto the loan.  However, the IRS statement said 26,000 in interest had been paid.  Just another way for the investors to not have to claims their interest.  So, all in all I am about to hire an attorney and have this all sorted out.  Something is very wrong with this whole debacle. They call over and over asking why I can't meet my payments--I have to explain over and over again.

I hate this company, they start calling, the day payment is do, still call even after you allready made payment online that morning, you would think with all the interest money they are making they could invest in better software system, and stop the phone calls, and the out sourcing.  I to had and issue with my escrow account, I have been paying an extraa 585.00 a month to meet there requirements. I have read this in other post that others are having same issues. I believe the attorney general shouldld check in on there practices...... Signed in happy customer.

It is American Home Mortgage.  They will call you even before your mortgage is late.  I pay mine on or before the 15, and I start getting calls from them on the 10th!

The person above is correct.  I called, entered my last four and it is American Home Mortgage calling about a payment.  If you have a mortgage with these people, it may be a good idea to give them your last four and find out what they want...or not, it's your house.

It is American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc. (AHMSI}. They start calling each month before the due date of the mortgage. Very annoying and rude. If you speak to them they sound like they are phoning from a call center in India....In my opinion, not a good way for them to do business. In this day and age you have no control over who ultimately services your mortgage but I would certainly never approach this outfit for another mortgage.

It is AHMSI, and this company is just a nightmare! We have NEVER paid our bill late.  In fact, we pay at least a week before the due date, and these people call at least 4 times a day.  We have even been sent letters saying that they are going to take our house due to late payments, yet all of our checks are cashed. We even had our lawyer contact them, and they've told her we are mistaken.  There are no calls to our home in their system.  Get out if you can! As soon as we can get a down payment to refinance, we certainly will find a new place!

This company is the worst one ever. They paid $3000.00 of someone else's taxes and raised our payment up another $800.00 a month because they said our escrow account was short by 4000.00. Our taxes are only $500.00 a year. They won't fix the payment until they receive their money back from whomever's taxes they paid. They just called for a payment now but they can forget it until they get their mistake straightened out. 99.99% percent of the time you get somebody from India. This company has so many complaints it is not funny!

Just to comment on your remark.... I HATE AHMSI, TOO.  I had no problems when Citi had my mortgage, but when AHMSI took over (March 2009), they repaid and overpaid my escrow taxes leaving me a payment of over $1,000 more a month on my mortgage. I've had two attorneys working for me while I continued to pay on my 80/20 mortgages (principal + interest) while AHMSI said were investigating their overpayment of my taxes (they never fixed the problem).  Unbelievably, AHMSI foreclosed on my home and then sold my home last month to a third party, while my attorney was working out the situation with AHMSI's attorneys.  I'm pissed off!!  I have the TX Attorney Gereral's office working on this situation now, along with my attorney, but I was told that since they sold my home, there's nothing I can do about it, except move or buy it back from the new owner.  The new owner offered to sell my home back to me for $25,000 more than what I paid for it.  How freakin' generous of him!!  I was still paying on the 20 loan through last month because I figured AHMSI couldn't sell what was not 100% theirs, but I was apparently wrong.  My attorney advised me to stop sending payments and said we'll get a refund for all that I've paid since this all began and get the foreclosure removed from my credit.  And guess who just called me for a payment on the 20 loan?  AHMSI are out of their minds!!!

Yes, it is my 'by default' mortgage company that keeps calling, not leaving a message on my machine.  I don't think it's a good idea to enter the last 4 digits of my SS# to a random phone call, unidentifiable by caller ID as 'Unavailable'.  So, I pulled out the old statement and called them.(Googled the number beforehand.)  Jumped through the security hoops, and spoke to a rep named Crystal.  She says "It is illegal for our company(AHMSI - American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc.) to leave a message on a machine!...Unless the greeting message on your answering machine says the name(full name) of the person they are trying to call."  I told her that that was a horrible way to do business!  I don't entirely believe her either.  Anybody have the truth to this?  The actual law...?

Now, they only incessantly call if I have a past due amount with them.  In a previous case I owed more money due to an increased amount owed for taxes to be held in my escrow account with them.  The second time was because I though I changed my automatic bank payments to reflect this small additional amount to my monthly mortgage payment, but it didn't work/take.  So, I am glad that I finally called them back after researching their calling number and figuring out it was them(AHMSI) again.

I wonder how many other people started off with a mortgage company that swore up and down that they would not turn around and sell your mortgage at the first chance they got.  AMHSI is my third mortgage company, since the economic fall of 2008, at the end of the Bush tyranny.  Seems like the U.S.(mostly the middle and lower economic classes) were pushed back 15 - 20 years.  My life did not get better under the Bush regime(and therefore after), how about you?

I paid my June payment on the 26th of May, therefor I paid ahead by a few days and today, June 17th, I received two phone calls within a 20 minute window from AHMS requesting the last four digits of my SS#.  The only thing I can think of is: 1) their system is messed up or 2) the call is fraud trying to collect SS information.  I entered ###, and they hung up on me. Sounds like fraud to me!! Don't give them any information!  If it was really AHMS collecting on a late payment, don't you think they would want the money enough to actually put a real person on the other line? By the way, I have received many legit fraudulant calls on my cell phone lately, requesting my credit card # or my SS#...

I am a customer of American Home Mortgage Service by default. My home loan was evidently sold to them by Citi. Payment is due on the first of each month and considered late payment after the 16th of the month. The phone calls begin around the 3rd of the month with my phone ringing 5 or 6 times a day to tell me my payment is late.
I complained to them for filling the 'Voice mail' of my phone since my doctor had been attempting to contact me. According to them, they may legally begin and continue those calls anytime after the first of the month.
They seem to make it as difficult as possible to speak with them making their 'customer service' more like 'dial-a-joke'.

they called me also and instead of calling them back on the number they left, i called AHMS since i knew i had no problems with my mortgage. AHMS said that they did not call. so, i suggest that you try the same and see what AHMS says. sometimes these are frauds trying to get your SSN.

The call is from AHMSI they keep calling me and have cashed my check! My payment is not behind, no apologies other than it is coming up in their system that they have not received my payment. (The money was deducted from my account last week!) I have 3 hang up calls on my voicemail from them. Nothing but problems since my mortgage was sold to them by Citi. We are going to refinance through Wells Fargo.
