New number for Drake's scam is 855-217-9288. This is the contact # on their fake website? SCAM!
Beware!
CWG40 2013-12-29 23:58:45 Unknown
No one can "suspend" tax returns. The scammers are getting desperate now. Variation of Indian-based IRS tax scam. Try to scare you someway.
CWG40 2013-12-29 23:54:58 Unknown
Get a good call blocker. Don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. Someone starts threatening you over what amounts to a civil debt, just hang up. Contact your local attorney general.
Lucy 2013-12-29 23:46:40 Unknown
This is a big scam, now using 888-255-6597. You cannot file to suspend tax returns. Do not call them back, just report this pathetic msg and then delete it.

18009513767 This place is a joke. Fake names and all. IF you try looking them up theres nothing about them, that should tell you something right there, and any one who believes these people should not. I went through the same things phone calls and text mesages. I finally called them back and they told me I owned a pass balance of 1,000 but would take a payment today of 560 dollars to some cash advance store and was going to take me to jail if I didn't pay HAHA because I wrote a bad check. REALLY if i wrote a bad check dumbass then I would have already been in trouble with the law were I live. Not 7 years later and the statue of limitations is 2-6 years depending on the sate you live in.I then asked if they could send me proof of my debit, which that is the law in whatever state you live in. You have to provide physical edvidnce that you owe that money, well when I asked her answer was no, I can send you a email LOL what kind of lawfirm sends a email about a debit that you owe. After about 5 min of listen to her b***s*** lies and trying to get money out of me I hung up the phone and called my attnory to call them and tell them to never call me again.
SERIOUSLY DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR TIME OR ANY MONEY IT IS A SCAM 100%
AND THE PEOPLE THAT COMMENT BACK POSTIVE ABOUT THIS PLACE ARE LOW LIFE SCUM BAGS THAT WORK FOR THE COMPANY.
Gunter 2013-03-15 16:15:48 Unknown
Mike Drake, if you are "100% legit," as you state , then why does your firm violate federal bankruptcy laws and continue to illegally harass people who are under bankruptcy protection?
Cynthia 2013-03-15 16:09:59 Unknown
Thank you for taking the time to pass on this valuable information.

I had a message left on my answering machine saying someone had filed a charge against someone, did not leave the name of the person they were looking for. Called the next morning, the person was supposedly someone with the last name Dozier, my answering machine clearly said the caller had reached a Richardson residence, but the left a message anyway. I told them they had clearly reached the wrong # and not to call my home again.

My Father received a text today saying that an Application was filed to suspend my tax return and to call Drake and Mckannon but when I call I receive a muffled message then music. I looked up Drake and Mckannon thats not the number.
Anonymous 2013-02-13 19:31:57 Unknown
I just receive the dumbest text message I have ever heard of. Stating that an application has been filed to suspend tax returns in reference to a complaint and to contact them. Do they think that I am dumb enough to call.
Jill 2013-02-12 02:16:41 Unknown
my caller's name was Ann Resneck from that same supposed law office and phone no. Is this some stupid telemarketing ploy?

Mike Drake: We are not a government group, but I have a word of advise: pack up your fraudulent business now, or we will hire private investigators, and all information we receive, including your picture (complete with computer generated pics of what you look like with or without hair, facial or otherwise) and all other identifying info,we will make it internationally public, you will be publicly ruined for the rest of your life.
So here's a helpful hint for you: resign NOW!

Received another text from this phony law firm, this time claiming they were filing an application to suspend all of my future income tax returns. I also received a voice mail from Mark Drake himself. The idiot who is posting on this board claiming that is company is legit. When I returned the call he told me that he had spoken with me directly the day before, which he did not since this was my first time ever calling the company. He insisted very rudely that he did speak to me. He talked over me and explained that it was in regards an old payday loan that I paid off a few years ago. He told me no that it wasn?t(how in the hell does he know if it was paid off or not). Then I asked for debt validation and he told me ?Shut up? and then hung up on me. Yup, that?s how a legitimate debt collector operates. Total low life bottom feeder scam artists scumbags. Please anyone who is contacted by these criminals DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME. Immediately file complaints with your state?s AG and FTC, FCC.

You will be served at your job and your home with a summons regarding a unpaid bill, no specific identifying information such as my name or who I owed the money to or anything like that was mentioned.

I too am receiving calls. I talked to my attorney and she informed me you do not get " informed" prior to a criminal law suit. She also said they go through public records to find info hoping you have forgotten a debt. It's been over a year since I have had any debt, and I do believe they would have contacted me LOOONG before now. She advised me to contact the FCC and the FBI. They have a task force to deal with this. If they call again tell them they have been reported and the calls should stop. If not have the cell and landline phone company block the caller and report it to your local law enforcement agency for creditor harassment.

Because most consumers don't inform themselves of their rights, and are easily intimidated. You do not have to tolerate this, and there are ways to protect yourself. This company is violating every aspect of the FDCPA.

These low-life bottom feeders are at the end of the food chain of debt collection. They buy old debts, harass or threaten the debtors into making a payment, which will only re-start the collection process. Many of the debts they "buy" are too old to be collected from. The fact that what appears to be such a bottom feeder would be on this page posting about meeting up with another poster in person is typical of their tactics. What's the worst that can happen if you don't pay a debt? Collection calls, lawsuit then Judgment. Big deal. I would caution anyone who receives calls from these morons to record the conversations, keep a written log of every phone call you receive, do some research and get their address. Send a certified letter telling them to cease and desist contacting you by phone, to produce documentation to verify the debt. Then turn around and sue THEM as soon as they call you after they have received your letter. They are forbidden, BY LAW, from being abusive, threatening or intimidating. They can tell you they want to sue you, but they CANNOT threaten you with it unless they intend to do so. Look up on the internet the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Also, look up the website for Bud Hibbs - he knows EXACTLY what you can do to protect yourself. As for this "MIke Drake" person (NOT his real name), just ignore him. He can't take your house, your car, your children, call you at work, threaten you, call your employer, your grandparents or your school, among other things. HE KNOW IT - he's just counting on YOU not knowing it.

I have received several messages from this supposed law firm. Most recently they have been exceedingly rude going as far as to tell me shut up repeatedly as I was simply trying to request them to stop.
I called back and tried to inform them they have the wrong person, they just hung up.
I am curious how this type of business continues to use these unacceptable practices.
Your Dad 2012-12-19 18:55:23 Unknown
Hey Mike, it is pretty easy to hide behind a phone and talk s***. What isn't too easy is if you were to try and speak to me with that same arrogance and tone in person. You and your degenerate staff, which obviously feel as though they can call and scam whomever they want, need to learn a few of life lessons. The first of which is that, I have no business with you and you have no business with me. The second is, you don't piss-off people with money. You are not an attorney. There is not a Drake & McKinnon Law Firm. However, I have one....we'll see you soon BUDDY

A person named Matt Russell called and left a message stating that "someone" was going to be sent a summons if "someone" doesn't call within 24 hours. Who is the "someone" they're looking for? If they wanted a return call, then they should've left the persons name they're looking for! Do they think some random person is just going to call them back because they were threatened with court proceedings? I guess they would but I'm not one of those people.

I spoke to a Mr. White from Law Office of Drake & McCannan, he also text one of my reference's phone about this case. No one never notified my the defendant. So this must be scam.
