They call several times a day. Never leaves message.

I got the same call and called them just now.  The lady asked for the phone number they called and when I gave it she asked whether I knew the name of a certain person.  I said 'no' and she said she'd have my number removed from their database.

I'm getting calls from this no. at all times of day and night. It's allways a recording. A recording.
Last night was at 8:45 pm. EST.
Please, it there any way to stop this?

They call me all the time, leave no message. All hours of the day and night, most of the time waking me up. They're ridiculous.

Yeah they called us to, don't know how they got my number, I'm on that no call list. They called twice this week, first time they didn't say anything after asking 3 times so I hung up. They called 2 days later, the same thing happened so I called them back. Some rude woman answered asking me how would I like her to direct the call & I told her I was just calling back because they had originally called me, didn't say anything & hung up & wanted to know what all that was about?! She didn't answer my question & asked me if I know one of my other family members that does not live with us, I told them they didn't live with us & they hung up.

they buy the stuff for pennies...and waste anyones time they contact...most of the debt they attempt to collect is barred by statute...but they keep trying

Check your phone security options and you may be able to block it.

Or if you have Cox telephone dial *60 and then #(the calling number you want restricted# and you'll never ever get a call from that number again.

How do you know it is the federal government or is it a conspiracy theory you have? Not everything is a conspiracy theory. lol

I received a call from them today.  They are a collection company.  They called me on behalf of Direct Energy.  They were attempting to collect on a debt that was old and included in a bankruptcy.  This is the third time I have received a call from them.  I know my rights and know that it is not a collectible debt.  She attempted to try and set up a payment plan.  I let her know that I too was recording the call and that I would be making a formal complaint to the bankruptcy court against them and their practices.  I have provided their information to my attorney.  

She tried to imply that I was a deadbeat for filing bankruptcy.  I told her I would gladly pay the debt if she in turn would take my breast cancer!  She didn't say anything else.

Got a call from Jamie as well on my cell, just asking to call her as if she was a friend...My number is listed on the no call list and I should not be receiving these kinds of calls.

Multiple calls from this number.  Never leaves voice mail, but always calls during normal business hours when many people are not at home, but instead at work.

Based on comments I'm reading here, it's probably a collection agency calling, and they want to talk to the people who previously had my home phone number.

Keeps calling and hanging up. caller id 800 955 3103. When I called back they gave me a name with an address which is not us. So, they promised to take off my phone from their list withing 48 hrs two weeks ago.  Who are these people? Economy is down, but are the crooks with scams up? Termites work in darkness, eating the house.

We keel getting calls from this # and they leave recording messages to call back. Call back and get recording saying you have called after hours to call back during regular business hours.

This IS a collection agency.  They are called "Allied Interstate".  This is NOT the government.
If you will simply call them back, tell them your phone number (they already have it so don't fret), they will tell you who THINKS you owe them money.  DO NOT tell them your name!  They only know you by your phone number at this point.  In my case, i knew i didn't owe anyone money, but i wanted to know who thought i did.  They told me the persons name and i said i didn't know them and didn't owe them money.  They asked for the last four digits of the phone number again for verification, then removed my number from their database.

These guys are a scam. Be carefull. Crooks

they are a utilities debt collection agency. they are very shady in their "business" dealings. Do what I do. Answer the phone and ask them for their home number & address (or something really personal) and tell you will call them at home...LOL. Or answer and put them on hold until they hang up. You can call your phone co and have their # blocked (not on a cell). Have fun with it, if they find that they are getting to you, they increase their harassment.

This number called my cell phone, I too am on the do not call list, when I answered they hung up. I called them back.
When I asked the woman that answered who she was she said I called her and what did I want. I told her I was returning a call to my phone and she hung up.

I get a call from them everyday. The leave a message asking me to call this number, but when I call, it doesn't go thru. I don't even know what they want.
