I get this call once a day, seven days per week.  There is never anyone on the other end and no matter how many times I call, they never answer.

I have been getting a call from this "UNAVAILABLE" number with hang ups on the answering-machine. 2 or 3 times a day. After another number, 807-902-2091, called twice while I was on the phone and didn't click over then later this number called with UTAH in the caller-ID. It left no message on the machine. There is another number, never Googled it, that leaves a female electronic voice that pronounces my surname incorrectly, saying they are a debt collector I think associated with Discover Card, but I don't have debt.

In reference to the Obama For America, I bet it could be Republican operatives; weren't they cited for doing that in the 2000 and 2004 elections or maybe one of the other Democratic contenders? Just a thought.

Same as everyone else--they call repeatedly and don't leave a message when I don't answer.  Must be a telemarketer or solicitor of some kind.

They are a telemarketing company so they have many clients.

Two missed calls in the past three days - they hang on long enough to leave a voicemail, but hang up right after the beep.
The Obama thing makes sense for me, I think - I know they have my name and email (although I don't know how they'd get my number).
Oh! Even as I type this, they're calling!

This just appeared, but since I don't answer unknown callers, I just don't know who it was.  Or care.

Calling about once a day, also hanging up so quickly that the phone doesn't even ring.  No messages left.  Not sure why they are even trying.

I've been receiving this call quit often as well.  Everyone is right that they let it ring long enough to get the answering machine and then hang up.  Well I decided to call it back and they said they were from The Share Group calling on behalf of their non-profit clients that we've supported in the past.  So I don't know who the heck it could be because we don't support anything that comes from a phone solicitation.

Three times today.  No message, just a hangup.   I don't get it.

They call, won't leave a message (as stated above).  One trick I use which often works... when someone like that calls and they start to make their pitch, I say, "can you wait just one second?"  Then I put the phone down and don't come back for 5 minutes.  They invariably have hung up.  Once you do that a few times, they stop calling you (since you are "wasting their time.)"

I get calls from this number several (up to 4) times a day.  It is driving me crazy.  I answer and no one is there.  I can not figure out how to make it stop!!!

In the last two days got five calls that showed up as "missed call" on my cell phone which means they disconnected so fast my phone did not even ring. Today the sixth time in two days it did ring and I picked up and they said they were "Obama for America" and I said I have been getting hang ups from this number all week and stop it already and I disconnected.

I am on the do not call registry and yet we get calls all the time who hang up when the answering machine comes on.

Today came a call from the  Share Group, Inc.

I worked here and while I never heard of any financial wrongdoings amongst workers, the way it was run was ridiculous. I remember that one guy overdosed on drugs and vomited in the hallway, was fired, but got his job back. I saw people dealing crack in the break room once, no joke. Some of us took our jobs very seriously, but others clearly did not. It was, in many respects, a terrifying place to work. This is my opinion alone; plenty of people loved working there. I, however, hated it.

Also, the way the calling works is that once a call is taken and a donation is made or a refusal is given, the number is taken out of the call cycle for that particular campaign. But if someone doesn't answer the phone, or if they answer and hang up, it goes right back into the cycle of numbers. There were plenty of calls where we would get down to fifty numbers or so and call the same ones over and over and over again; sometimes I would literally have the same number pop up on my screen 20 times a night. It was mortifying So your best bet would be to answer and say to have the number taken off of the list. It's better to have to waste 30 seconds of  your time requesting to be taken off of the list than to have to hear your phone ring 800 times over the course of the calling campaign.

I cannot fathom why they did this. All it does it alienate people.

Once you have given your cc info to the Share Group caller, it is immediately encrypted and then goes to HSUS. It is HSUS and not Share Group that processes your cc transaction (Share Group gets paid a few bucks for the call but they do not take your money upfront). People you tried to reach at Share Group would have been unable to help you even if you'd been able to reach a live person (on the other hand, a live person would have been able to explain this to you).

If you gave the wrong cc info to HSUS for monthly deductions, you need to talk to HSUS Member Services about fixing this-- or you might wait for another call from Share Group after your cc is declined.  HSUS Member services is 202 452 1100.

I have contacted my state senator about these nuisance calls, and also followed the advice of one of the other complainers here & put the phone off the hook till I heard a dial tone.

i empathize,you will see i have written many! messages of anger,frustration,& explanations ..i, too, have adisability which just adds to this lowest of lows cos. read my other replies cuz my exp. has gone on for mos. & now i am taking big action. good luck toyou. we need to take these idjits down. they are harming people,orgs, & our peace.

as i have said previously be aware, they use 135+ numbers, and i have now left them a message on their long distance number to desist, i have contacted my AG, and am recording them...they will pay for this harrassment. but i will not stop my loyalty and $ to the dems. share is the enemy, not the fundraising groups they are lying about!
