I received a text from 702-238-8337 stating ILWU Credit Union Alert: Your VISA CARD has been placed on HOLD.  Please call us at: 800-959-5856.  Reply X to stop  Powered y TextHub.

I researched the Credit Union and it does exist in Wilmington California, but that 702 area code is from either Las Vegas Nevada or Henderson Nevada.

I don't belong to this Credit Union nor do I have a Visa with any Credit Union.

I received a text as well on a phone that is my emergency line, therefore never used, from texting number "502" saying it was from "FNBT", and to call this 800 number. It just gave the 'first four' numbers of this supposed card, and saying the same things, that it has been placed on HOLD and what-not... I only have one card and it doesn't start with that! lol... and the line it was text to as never been used. Definitely a scam. I also tried to call, the 800 number, to pin them in their tracks, and it said it was disconnected as well. I hope people didn't actually fall for this scam!

I received the same text saying my ILWU Credit Union VISA had been placed on hold. I have a card that I haven't used in a couple of years, but it's not from ILWU. When I called the 800-959-5856 number it prompted me to enter my VISA number and wouldn't let me select any other options. It just kept asking me to enter my card number, which I did NOT do. I called the number the text was sent from and got a message the mailbox was full. I tried the 800 number again the next morning and got a recording to call another 800 number to refinance a home. Called that number to try and find a link back to the original text, but just got voicemail asking me to leave a message. I replied to the original text (702-238-8337) that since no one was reachable I was contacting the Better Buisiness Bureau to try and find more information on the text alert. Now there is a recording that the 800 number is no longer in service.  The 702 number still says the mailbox is full. Highly probable it is a SCAM. They may be able to somehow capture the card number when it is entered over the phone.

I received the same message, but 5 hours, 17 minutes prior I received a missed call, which also, when returning the call, a "Do Not Call" option is given by pressing 1.  That phone # was (206) 397-1523.  I wonder if this call is related because very few people call me at this number, fewer people text me, and rarely do I receive wrong # calls.  BTW, my card works just fine.

I just got the same text. I do have a visa, but I'm fairly certain that it is a scam.

I just got the same text and it said it was my account starting with these four digits and listed digits - I don't have an account with that either.
