Hello worried traveler.  I am proof that this was not a scan.  I spent a beautifull week in Mexico in 2011 with my son at the nicest eco freindly Hotel the Tres Rios and they placed us in a very luxurious room on the third floor.  I did have to  partake in the info session for a couple of hours, unfortunately I wasn't in a position to buy into the Hotel at the time and they were nice enough to leave it at that. Yes I did pay for my own airfare along with the $598 fee but nothing in life is free and I felt it was worth every penny.  I would go back there anytime.

I was called by Lumex several times after I had asked to be put on the do not call list. I then listened though the prompts. I was told by the sales rep that I could not ask questions about the package or the company until after the presentation and I would only be allowed one question. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she became rude and hung up I then called back and spoke to Robert spencer in the LUMEX call center he stated that he does not have a supervisor and would not help me and stated that no one is in charge. I then found online and called a customer service representative. Rolando, Rolando in customer care also would not connect me with his manager and said that he was no there today instead he gave me an email customercare@sunsetworld.net. I have never experienced such wide spread unprofessionalism and disorganization. This company has to be one of the most poorly managed entities in the world. whether it is a scam or not.
On management standards alone this is a company that should be taken out back and shot.

Without a doubt, timeshare cancellation is the best option to get rid of an unwanted timeshare. Once the timeshare contract is properly cancelled, there are no further financial obligations attached to the resort, which means:

No more calls
No more timeshare maintenance fees
No more timeshare debt
No more special assessment fees
Is important that people know about fraudulent resorts to avoid being scammed: http://www.timesharescam.com/timeshare-complaints-resorts-black-list/2-villa-del-palmar-timeshare-complaints/

I was duped, I've read each and every one of your comments.  I'm guessing I'm simply getting the accommodations to stay at a hotel in Cancun and I'll have to listen to a 90 minute presentation as a punishment.  I've decided not to dispute the transaction.  I will be going sometime in the next 18 months and take the advice of some of the others on here and eat out and not take the upgrades etc.  I'm disappointed I fell for it, but...life will go on.  :)

Cancun Premiere Vacation / Ocean Spa Hotel - are all one and the same organization. Phones numbers they are calling from 1-888-267-1882 & 1-877-334-2760. **i have researched and found that the call centre is located in the Phillipines.  So funny enough they all have names that sound mexican and pretend to have mexican accents.  But if you ask them something a simple as whats the current temperature outside they don't have a clue because they are not in mexico like they claim that they are.

CEO: Erika Garcia.

These companies have called and harrassed me for the past 3 years on and off.  Whe they are calling it is too many times a day to count. I have told them on many occasions to stop calling me, remove me from their list but they don't.  I escalte the call to the supervisor (but apparently everyone that works there is a supervisor!

I am on the do not call list for Onatrio, Canada - that doesn't work.  So on numerous occassions I have filed complaints with the CRTC - they have done nothing.

So since they are not listening I have decided to do the next best thing I call them more then they call me.  I is time consuming but fun.  They get frustrated and don't know what to do.  I explain to them that I am merly retunring the favour and I am only doing to them what they have done to me for the past 3 years.

By the way its a Scam according to the reservations department at the Ocean Spa Hotel in Mexico.

yes i would very much like to do something about these people.i had not gave them authorization to one of the two trips they were offering and they had taken out the money for both.scince then, everytime i have called scince thier price would change for activation fees.was mislead;initial call there was no mention of any activation fees at all.then it was 79 dollars then 200 dollars.i did not allow for and said no to these fees and have been requesting for them to return money taken from thier first call credited back to me.they said they had returned 349.99 for the orlando trip which i said no to in the first place;have not seen it back on card yet.to the cancun one they had told me to e mail them my concerns to see what they could do to return funds, due to being mislead on awarness of any addtional activation fees.the email does not seem to exsist.i cannot get anywhere with these people.i am only on a disability pension so i would like to see them accountable.have yet to see any results from this company;been 1year now

we are trying to fight this. is there something that worked for you. the Cancanvacations does not care at all. and 2nd the cc company says this is not fraud. but a bad purchase. i finally got them to dispute it and sent them the terms and conditions. but is there some key word i should use. when the company said all inclusive, then they said no. . and then when we went to book they said no flights. ..fine we will buy our own flights. but then they say no food. fine. go to hell we'll buy our food. now they say no taxes .and they must be paid upfront..what the %*&^%^&. what was it that we paid 750 for?

They have called me every day for the past two weeks and more than once a day, every time I ask to have my phone number removed they tell me to change my number. I am on the "do not call list". This is not a reputable company do not respond to their questions your privacy will be invaded.
They also go by Paradise International claiming they are part of Radison Hotels.
Some of the solicitors that have called are Pamela, Angel and Billy.

This is a phone scam in that they do not tell you that any flight you book to Cancun, anytime of the year, is between $400 and $700 per person!! This cost is on top of the trip! So it is not a deal! You can book an all inclusive with flight for much cheaper online or through a travel agent, at a nicer hotel (these hotels are only 3 star hotels).

Yes this is a company with an "F" rating by the Better Business Burea.  They change the name of the company and move around.  IT'S A SCAM.... you end up paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars per person in assorted fee's.  They also charge an up front fee (something like $250) which is non-refundable.  Bottom line is that you can find a cruise and airfare cheaper on-line (or through a travel agent) and get it cheaper than these creeps. Plus you won't have to sit through hours of high pressure sales pitches.  REMEMBER... NOTHING IS FREE...  If it sounds too good it's probably a scam.

I don't know what city you're in, find out if your local DA has an elderfraud or elderabuse unit. Also call your local health and human services or whoever is responsible in your county or state for Adult Protection. If these people are working out of Mexico then there probaboy isn't anything authorities can do to them directly but maybe they can tell you to report this incident as fraud to the credit card company.

SO Mr.Employee... whats the rebuttal for "can i return this package?"... you should honestly stop supporting this company you work for... just because its not illegal doesnt mean its not morally wrong... just remember "what ever goes around, comes right back around" so if i were you, i would be in shame to even support your company. I have fallen prey to Online marketing before and it cost me $500... i know maybe its not much to some people but i can say that it hit me really hard at the time, and it comes close to breaking laws such as FRAUD, THEFT... you prey on stressed people and then stress them out even more... how would you feel if someone actually commited suicide or beat the crap out of another just because that additional stress from you made them just cross the line and give up on life.... think about that next time you make sale.

Thanks to BIG L and all other posts... u saved me alot of money... i actually questioned the verifier about the airfare and thats when i said no to the deal... btw they actually said they can give your the best airfare prices and its alot less than $1000... so i guess they're breaking the law. Another thing is that you are responsible for all taxes from their resort too. And now they changed the company to Cancun Calling.

Got to add this... the CHUTZPAH!

During the presentation we had a gut feeling that it was a scam... so after sitting there we wanted to collect our prize.  They give us a "raincheck" form and wanted us to sign the paper.  CHUTZPAH! I told them.... HELLO...You should sign the paper... you promised us the gift... I was hesitant to sign because all I know they may use our signature for another scam... they have our names and addresses and phone numbers.  We flashed the credit card they asked us when we entered the presentation because we did not want them to get the number.. so were SKEPTICAL from the beginning.

IF ANYONE IS DOING A CLASS ACTION SUIT OR ANY SUIT REGARDING THIS SCAM EMAIL ME AT ELIZABELL4U@YAHOO.COM AND I HAVE SOME EVIDENCE - even though I was not scammed.

LETS GET THEM!!  WHAT HURTS ME MOST IS THAT THEY GET ELDERLY PEOPLE INTO THIS SCAM. THEY HAVE NO CONSCIOUS AT ALL. THEY DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were there at the presentation.  We knew it was a SCAM right away.  I hope more people with todays technology can google them before signing the papers.  Interestingly, when you google paradise destination not too many warnings about them but try PARADISE DESTINATION SCAM and there are stories of woe to learn about them.

DON'T EVEN GO GET YOUR FREE PRIZE...BECAUSE THERE IS NO FREE PRIZE..THEY TELL YOU THEY WILL MAIL IT TO YOU...

WE WARNED A FEW PEOPLE THERE.  THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF VULNERABLE PEOPLE.. THEY NEED TO BE PUNISHED. WHERE IS OUR PROTECTION???

Jason, everything you were promised is on the digital recorded reciept. You agreed to all the terms and conditions after they went over what you were recieving. They clearly stated that this promotion was on the european plan and was for your accomodations, ground transportation, non- motor water sports, and up to 40% on tours and excursions. They also went over the incidentals that you were resposible which were air transportation, hotel tax ( $110 ) plus a $59 dollar process and reservation fee. If you want to listen the the recorded reciept call your credit company up and listen to it. At any rate you should take the vacation to see what a great deal you actually got.

Yes, that FR51 is both a bad speller and a liar...or as you speculated, IS WORKING for the company! By corroborating these lies FR51, you subject yourself to prosecution as well:

Some scam artists employ a technique called "split pricing." They'll offer airfare and accommodations at prices well below market levels. But there will be fees in the fine print that more than offset the savings. Others will mention a luxury hotel, but hide the fact that an expensive "add on" fee is required prior to check-in.
Despite the efforts of government agencies like the FTC, the travel industry is very poorly regulated. Anyone can hang a sign in front of their door and sell travel products. If you have access to a fax machine, telephone or email account, you can send out solicitations.

The FTC does offer an online complaint form. But bear in mind that no one can offer guarantees of recovery after you've been bilked.
