You are extremely rude and yelling into the phone and continually calling and hanging up on people is extremely rude.  Now you have forced our hand in joining the suit against your employers.......what a douche!

That is funny because When I look up Dunn, Johnston & Brown with the Texas Department of Public Safety / Private Security Bureau, that name is nowhere to be found.  The Owner, Mike Johnston may be a Licensed Private Investigator, but the business is not.  This directly violates the Texas Occupational Code and it is also punishable by a crime in the State of Texas, especially when employees, who are actually skiptracers are allowed to refer to themselves as "Investigators".  What they do is try to find people who have defaulted on their car loans and once found, they hire independent repossession companies to take possession.  This clearly puts Dunn, Johnston & Brown under the realm of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Would they be looking for someone if their car loan was not past due?  I encourage everyone who has been negatively affected to notify the Attorney General in their State as well as the Attorney General in their state and the Texas Private Security Bureau at the following website:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/psb/

The address to Dunn, Johnston & Brown is:

346 Oaks Trail, Garland, TX 75043

Owners name is Mike Johnston and the VP is Ray Taylor.

I suggest you quit calling my daughters work or you FATGIRL Ashley Turner will be in big trouble.  And girl they don't serve Bon bons in jail heifer.

"Inspecter Betty Cruz" contacts my spouse daily. She threatens him by saying she's going to call everyoner from where she thinks he use to live not stopping with family but all state and feferal officials until someone will tell her where he use to live so she can repo a vehicle.  Now get this, the vehicle is paid for; was NEVER in his name from loan to title!! When he ignores her calls, she leaves these messages that are condescending and way outside the truth. Once when she called a co worker of my husband answered the phone using his own name and she began telling him she had a file on him as well!!  Was hysterical.   This company will stoop to anything to collect EVEN when their facts are all wrong!!

I have read this whole thread about DJB.  I DO NOT work for this company!  But am contracted out to repossess vehicles for them from time to time.
They are a company that does work for Lenders to recover skip accts, meaning people who dont pay their vehicle notes, who have either moved, or think they are sneaky enough to hide their cars. They in turn do skip tracing on these accts, thats where the many phone calls come in, to either friends, relatives or anyone else who they might have down as a reference to these debtors who dont pay.  When they find leads to recover an account, they send them to a repo company, and I'm more than happy to pick these vehicles up for them, hey... it pays my bills.  The people at DJB are just doing their job. As I am just doing mine.  I do know tho how some people can come across on the phone,  be overly demanding and what not, but I've never had a problem with this company. Everyone I've talked to in their office has been very pleasant.  My only suggestion is.... contact management at DJB if you come across someone that is unprofessional.  It does absolutely NO good to be rude with people on the phone.  Thats my story... and I'm stickin to it!

If you must know....In Texas the law reads that anyone who works for or under a Licensed Private Investigator can be refered to as an "Investigator". To operate in Texas, a PI agency must have a qualifying manager that directly supervises the agency and investigators licensed under their company.Upon qualifying as the manager/owner of the agency, the manager can hire other individuals that can operate as private investigators under their agency after they meet the manager?s requirements (including the requirements below). To be licensed and employed by a licensed company as a private investigator, a person must meet all the requirements set forth in Texas Occupations Code 1702.113, summarized in part (but not in whole) below. The person must:
1. be at least 18 years of age;
2. not have been convicted, in any jurisdiction, of a felony level offense;
3. not have been convicted, in any jurisdiction, of a Class A or equivalent misdemeanor;
4. not have been convicted, within the past 5 years, in any jurisdiction, of a Class B misdemeanor or equivalent offense;
5. not currently charged with, or under indictment for, a felony, or a Class A misdemeanor;
6. not currently charged with, a Class B misdemeanor;
7. not have been found by a court to be incompetent by reason of a mental defect or disease and not have been restored to competency;
8. not have been dishonorably discharged from the United States armed services, discharged from the United States armed services under other conditions determined by the Board to be prohibitive, or dismissed by the United States armed services if a commissioned office in the United States armed services;
9. not be required to register in this or any other state as a sex offender.

So know the facts before you go running your head about something you obviously know nothing about.

You can call the assistant attorney general in TX and find out more about them and file a formal complaint about illegal collection practices. Yes, they are a collection company. No, they are not "officers" or any kind of law enforcement - they do like to call themselves officers or investigators illegally.

A dumb a** name Steve Mendez called a few days ago from the same company, trying to track down an individual regarding a vehicle. Mendez tried to use a scare tactics and threats of contacting the individual work place (a clear violation of FCC rules and regulations) with me by saying the individual took the vehicle across state line (as if it is illegal to do so. The F-ing vehicle is register under this individual name, therefore, it can be move to any state). This Mendez guy think that I gave him the right information, instead I just played him.

I know all along that this F-ing company (Dunn Johnston & Brown) is just another extension of a collection service that the bank hired to recover their losses. There no real investigators in the company, just a bunch of dumb, non-educated fools who works on commission.

This is the company direct line: 972-226-1333

I did a minor research on Steve Mendez and this maybe his personal location and phone number's: I could further the investigation on Mendez, cause I have clearance with high resources at my finger tips, but I'll wait to see if this Mendez guy would act stupid (in criminal term's).

972-226-1333 - These people engage in harassment and misrepresentation at best and illegal collections activities at worst.  Fortunately for us, we have an attorney to handle the situation they are calling about - we are "behind" on payments on ONE of our very many vehicles for a very good reason that we will eventually resolve with the auto manufacturer.  I love the professional way they get online and "respond" to the postings here with taunts and threats - but it's great for our case against them and all have been forwarded on to our attorney along with recordings of every call and message left.  FYI - they now have the "latest" technology available to them - phone number spoofing - (NOT!) so beware.  You may think you're answering a call from your spouse, family member, significant other, etc. and it's THEM on the other end.  Just hang up if you don't want to talk to them - and it's highly recommended you don't talk to them.  Any attorney that handles collections harassment cases can win against these guys - no matter how inexperienced.  That's how out of line their tactics are.  They continue to call even after being clearly told NOT to.  They call multiple times - which is harassment.  They misrepresent themselves as "investigators" - though, in our case, they stop just short of saying "with ___________ County Sheriff's Office" but they certainly imply it, which counts.  They also say things like "there is a subpoena" - there is a "theft charge" - etc.  Honestly, before you freak out about that, consider - the first time you're going to hear about a subpoena or theft charge, or pending "case against you", etc. is NOT going to be through a collection agency - or whatever they call themselves - oh, wait!  A "private investigations" firm - yeah, right!  And a very professional one, at that.

I read one "response" on here about repossessing the car you went to such lengths to hide" and it made me laugh.  They will NEVER find the car in question in our case - ever.  It is only one of multiple vehicles we have - the rest paid for.  This one would have been also if not for a problem with the vehicle that the manufacturer wanted to play hardball about.  Fortunately for us, we will probably end up owning it free and clear without making another payment thanks to these clowns.  Our attorney is enjoining the finance company and the auto manufacturer in the suit he will be filing shortly against these folks.  And he doesn't lose - ever.  He's handled many, many cases such as these.  He is based in Houston, TX and gets a LOT of practice!!

A note to DJB - learn how to conduct business legally and you might get a little further.  As another consumer above so eloquently put it - you aren't dealing with uneducated people who live hand to mouth and scare easily.  There is a whole new nation of people who have run into serious financial difficulties because of the depression and economy in the country.  You, however, for the most part, ARE that uneducated, bully tactic public you seem to think you're dealing with.  Good luck to you.  You can call our phones, spoof the numbers, call family members and friend - all of whom are aware of the what the situation is - and you're going to get nowhere.  And as far as "finding" the vehicle in question - it won't happen.  Not in this lifetime.  We don't drive it and haven't driven it in a couple of years.  It was just an extra vehicle, anyway - a tow behind our RV vehicle.  We'll win this war - but it's fun fighting it with you - you've been a less than admirable adversary.  Your harassment and barrage of phone calls on the couple of lines (of multiple) that you seem to have access to, and the "spoofing" of our phone numbers has been amusing.

This is Dunn, Johnson and Brown. They are skip tracers. Claim to be "investigators" They have several addresses listed: 4402 Broadway Blvd. Garland, Texas 75043 and 346 Oaks Trail, Garland, Texas 75043-4085 Telephone 972-882-4100 They hire folks off Yahoo jobs, hire low quality people and have a big turnover.
They are still calling me at all hours by the name of "Christopher" and threatening to send the tow trucks and have me arrested. I have repeatedly told their collector "Patsy" ext. 250 that I am not "Christopher" have nothing of theirs and to stop calling but to no avail.
I am now gathering evidence for a formal complaint and lawsuit for abusive collection practices.

Ashley Turner.  has called repeatedly looking for my son. He had an auto loan and had returned it to the Credit Union in Billings Mt. This has run since Easter 2009. I have told this so called lady that my son does not live here and she has called me a liar, In the end I have told her to "F" off and to stop calling. On Sept 8 2009 she called and was told the same to "F" off. within 42 minutes she called back on her private phone and also company phone. I reported it to the Sheriff Dept and put in a formal complaint. It seems that this does not stop her as she thinks that she has done no wrong.
I contacted the Credit Union,the Sheriff Dept and the Tx Dept of justice with a further complaint. this still does not stop her. She calls back.

I then told her to "F" off again, then she tells me that, thats what you do
with your mother.

Garland Tx is only 24 hours from Billings Mt. and if I need to visit her I will and take repocussions with the Dept of Justice.
