This is PCI a data gatherer for Alumni information. They called me 7 times on a Sunday and 7 times on a Monday AFTER I called them and told them NOT to call. I've emailed all my alumni organizations and asked them, if they do business with these clowns, to please tell them how absolutely counterproductive this tactic is. Even when you answer the call, no message, no person is there.

I am the receptionist at our company and I litterally had 10 calls come up at the same time on my computer screen of this number. They were calling for alumni. I disconnected every one of them and on the one I did answer, I told them that none of our guys were interested and how many calls I had to try to answer from them.

Alumni, my___! The number called and asked for my wife today. The guy told me he's calling from Long Island University, checking record information for alumni of the school. Not only is my wife not an alumna of that school, she's never heard of it! Neither had I until I answered that call. No doubt, it's a data mining firm.
And yes, I am on the DNC list. A lot of good that does, though, when the law was written to exempt specifc organizations, such as political parties.

this number calls my cell phone everyday
snoopdoggy 2011-06-06 20:58:48 Unknown
they called me atleast 3 times a day, I tried calling them back but my call was disconnected. The best time to call them back, SUNDAY EVENING. CALL the same # back, a Jerk will answer, just tell him to remove your # from the list. They even have the caller ID just in case if they repeate your # don't be surprised. Call them & have them remove your # from the list.

Every night for days we get a call from this number with "unidentified" as the caller ID. If we answer we get a dial tone. We are on the do not call list. How can we stop these calls?

Very true! There are all types of ways that one can be phone scammed! It is interesting that I have received calls from them regarding schools that I have never attended! As another commenter mentioned on a similar website, this smells like a dead rat!!!

I received a call from (866)-454-4118 at my place of work. They Told me that they ware representing the UA Alumni Association. Since I was too busy, I could not talk; however, they left me a telephone number to call back, which was (800)-982-1589. Since the alumni association already has my updated information, and also the number provided was not a local number with the correct area code, I realized that something seemed phony; therefore, I did an internet search for both (866)-454-4118 and (800)-982-1589 telephone numbers, and it was crystal clear that this is some type of scam. I am doing 3 things: 1.) Not calling back! 2.) Reporting this! 3.) Warning others! This is the telemarketer's equivalent of a phishing scam!

That number is for an Alumni Directory printing for your school. The company prints out directories about every 4yrs for different colleges. They continuously call because they try to get as much updated as they can. The problem is if someone changes their number, they are calling the last number the person had listed so you may be getting calls from them when they are looking for someone else. you also have the option to purchase the Directory in different forms depending on how your school offers it. Mine I can get Book or CD.

called 11/13/08 at 5:51 p.m. & they identified themselves as
Publishing Concepts
4835 L.B.J. Frwy, Suite 100
Dallas, TX 75244
Background noise sounded like boiler room operation & female
did not know address or name and had to check the computer
My opinion is it is a flim-flam & they will change as the caller's
number comes from a different phone origination

called at 6:15 pm, on do not call list
Texas 2008-09-15 14:48:13 Unknown
Repeated annoying calls, does not leave message.
CD 2008-08-21 00:56:17 Unknown
Calls come through at night, usually at 9pm and do not leave a message. I am on a national do not call list - doesn't seem to matter.
Sam Mosin 2008-08-20 02:44:57 Unknown
They keep calling, won't leave a message.
I have a new strategy, though. I'll pick up the phone and set it down for a few minutes to stop the ringing, then place it back on the hook.
I figure it's not costing them anything to call if no one answers - but it does if I pick up. If enough of you guys help me with this, maybe we'll put a stop to some of this crap.
emhanhayes 2008-08-03 22:27:52 Unknown
Do what I do. I put them in the address book of my phone and set it to do not ring. They can call as often as they like. I don't hear it and it doesn't bother me
Connie 2008-08-03 00:36:22 Unknown
they call at all hours in the afternoon on
Pete 2008-07-24 18:59:10 Unknown
This company has called me sevral times and each time it costs me money for cell phone usuage
Brenda 2008-07-17 19:02:55 Unknown
I'm having the same problem with these people -- but I noticed that you said you don't pick up "801" phone calls -- I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that "801" is the Utah area code, and not the same as a 800 number -- You might be missing an important call from a friend in Utah! :)
J 2008-06-19 20:29:00 Telemarketer
They are calling on behalf of Alumni Associations in regards to their alumni directory projects. Apparently since you have a prior relationship with your school, which is a private institution, they do not have to abide by the National Do Not Call List. If you request to be put on their Do Not Call List, they will have to enter you into their system and stop the calls for the duration of your school's project.

all 800 and debt colcter calls
notesmom 2008-06-07 17:00:09 Unknown
I will not answer any calls from 800 or 801(etc.) #s. I copy the # from Caller ID & check it on Google!
rna_dna 2008-06-03 14:24:05 Unknown
I keep getting calls at work from this number. I have yet to actually answer any calls, but apparently it would not do any good since it sounds like no one would be on the other end anyway.
. 2008-06-02 03:42:41 Unknown
they now have my number somehow as well. 3 calls in 2 days.
this is absolutely intolerable.
JKH 2008-05-23 06:03:35 Unknown
They have called 4 times in 2 weeks. Never leave a message.Checked number on this site and always ignore their calls.
njmarknj 2008-05-07 20:44:08 Unknown
Oh please! That 972-386-0100 is a nonfunctioning number! Seems to me they don't want to stop their annoying calls from coming through!
njmarknj 2008-05-07 20:13:55 Unknown
I have asked them to remove me for three days now, and they continue to call, even being arrogant ("I'm not the one who called you" or "We'll extend you a courtesy by not calling you again!")...but they continue to call me!
njmarknj 2008-05-07 20:09:49 Unknown
I accidentally typed in the wrong number above..it is NOT 800-982-1582, it IS 800-982-1589. Sorry. The cmpany's name is PCI.
njmarknj 2008-05-07 20:05:04 Unknown
These people are unreal! They call, then say nothing, and you have to call them back according to the number on you caller ID. Three calls, thus far, in three day. When I called back the second day, I was told that "as a courtesy, they'll take my number off the list." As a courtesy???? So, they called again today, and when I called back and asked why they didnt take my number off the list, the respondent yelled at me, "I'm not the one who called you!" These jerks are calling for colleges (who pay them for that service) to get more information from people. How are they able to circumvent to the do-not-call???? Horrible people!
