who is calling from 800-989-6229? there are several calls a-day from this number

Getting multiple calls from 800-989-6229 on a daily basis...very annoying.

They call at anytime even at 9 pm !!

It's Macy's collections. Pay your bill and they'll stop :). [[I'm not being sarcastic. They've been calling me, too. Haaaa... I forgot I had a Macy's card. Silly me.]]

They keep calling my home REPEATEDLY!  I don't have a macy's account...or any other retail account, for that matter.

I don't believe this is Macy's.  I have never had a Macy's account EVER.  My calls just started coming in over the last few days.  From what I'm seeing from other comments, I don't believe any information should be given out to the person calling.  I believe it is a big deal, as it's probably someone trying to get information to use for identity theft.

Calls start just after 8am and continue up to 9pm. I don't have a Macy account and with all of the calls no message is left. After this number is used another call follows leaving no message

They keep calling my cell phone sometimes (5) calls per day. About a year back they left a voice mail regarding some individual and a Macy's account. They have done the same thing to my home phone. It seems like they will call every day for about a week and then stop calling. And then they will start calling again in a month or two. Both phones are registered on the "Do Not Call List". I would like to shoot or blow up their phone dialing machine.

Keep getting calls from (800) 989-6229.  Don't know who these stupid people are but like the others above they have been calling non-stop throughout the day and on weekends but when I answer there's an automated message that says please hold and then it hangs up on me! The calls would come in non-stop for a month and then automatically stop for a few months and then start up again.  Sometimes it's just a beep and then it disconnects. Very annoying! Sometimes they even call my work number and same thing happens...no one is on the line and it hangs up after one ring! And they never leave any messages.  WTF??? I just ignore the calls when I see the number pop up.  I'm not going to waste my time with these a**holes. And if it's Macy's I don't even have an account with them!

This number is actually MACY's CALIFORNIA  the number is listed on their Billing Statement.

this # calls 2, 3 times daily.  calling them back over 100 times in a weeks tenure during their prescribed days & hours attains no results other than a menu stating their office is closed.  we have never done business w/ any of the suggested companies from other complaints.  we are on the national regestry dont call list & our bankruptcy was finalised over 6 months ago.

They called, I have never had a Macy's card and my phone is a trac-phone, now I get 10 calls a day from there collection company number 727-556-7300

I've been getting calls from this number for a few days now and no one ever leaves a message. its flip'N annoying. I NEVER answer bcuz I know it's not  anyone I know. They are seriously draining my cell battery.ugh!

I also ran my credit check (all 3) and I do not see any a/c opened with Macy, or Bloomindale. Can someone suggest the next course of action? I feel like calling 911 every time the call comes and planning to disconnect all my phones...

They have been calling me last 3 months. I guess they call Macy's. I ran credit check and I do not see any goof up there. I do not know how I go about reporting this to police. God save all those who are the victims (including myself). They are doing a crime by harassing genuine and "by the rule" folks like us...

It's a legitimate call if you're behind on payments. This company is Citicards, and they are calling on behalf of Macy's and Bloomingdales. I was behind on mine, and in order to stop these harrassing phone calls, all I had to do was pay my bill.

If they have a wrong number, telling them that they have the have the wrong number won't do anything. Supposedly, collectors are trained to keep calling until they get in touch with the person they're looking for, and since your number is the last one they have on file, they will continue to call. To have them not call you anymore, send them a certified letter in the mail asking to cease calls in the future. They are required by law to comply once they have received this written request, otherwise you can complain to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for violating collection rules, and they could be prosecuted.

they call all the time at blatantly inconvenient times (early in the morning / dinner time / late at night). There's no way in hell I'm going to reward this sort of behavior.

umm... yea. all i had to do was pay my bill and they stopped calling. i had forgotten that i even HAD a macy's card. the company calling is Citicards and they're calling regarding whatever Macy's account is linked to that number. it's no big. just pay your bill or tell them they've got the wrong number and you're good :).

For the last week I've been getting calls from this number. No one ever leaves a message. I don't answer b/c I know it's not from anyone I know. They are quite obnoxious. Sometimes calling four-five times a day, and on the weekends.

they have been calling me at 5:00 or 6:00 am everyday including Sat and Sun.  It' aweful!

i'm receiving repeated calls and even tho they say they are from macys or bloomingdales, this is a fraudulent call.  i had been receiving similar calls from 727-556-7300 and one other 727 exchange for months fishing for account numbers and information.  i reported the number to macys and my cell phone company.  at&t said they can't block this incoming call.  just got off the phone with macys and they will get back to me once they research the issue.  DO NOT give out your account number to these people!

Yep, it's Macy's Collections. We filed for Chapter 7 and they still called a lot! Bad newz, law breakers. They're not allowed to do this, but continue to do so.
