Event Reminder
I called two days ago to see when my contract was up. I am thinking about canceling service because they are so annoying with the calls. They start calling 4 and 5 times a day right before the bill is due. Since I called about the contract, they are calling me from this number as well. I am seriously going to just pay the bill this month and get rid of them. I can't deal with them calling me over and over. Even if I WAS late on my bill, 20 and 30 calls a week is ridiculous. It seems they would want you to keep your job so you can keep on paying them! They make me want to throw my phone some days. So done.

Called 1-800-531-5000 to pay my bill and if I could reach through the phone I would've choked the guy. He kept trying to offer ADT for  my  home in which I did not want. He would not discuss my bill until I agreed to get ADT. He kept saying,"Your telling me that cable is more  important than your families safety?" I just wanna pay my bill but discuss my account first. Is that too much to ask?

I was getting calls from this number: 1-800-998-2094 and when I called the number I found out it was direct tv, regarding an account that belongs to someone else, and I informed the Direct Tv associate that I don't have Direct tv and to please remove my number. I have called this number several times to request my number to be removed and I still get calls from this company. Don't know what to do about this.

Ronda - the callers do not necessarily read this website, so telling them here to stop calling is not going to do anything for you.  You need to call them and tell them yourself.

please don't call me.. I got this phone.. a few months ago.. the person who had the number previously had a connection with direct tv, I do not.  He got rid of his phone.  I have the number.  please do not call me.  I don't have cell minutes to keep answering your calls.

It's DirecTV. They always do this to me. When I have a bill coming due, they begin calling me several times a day like 3 weeks before the due date. I called and asked them to stop calling me every day all the time as it feels like harassment and their response was " It's an automated calling system and unfortunately they can't make the calls stop." Bullsh*t! They could make them stop but evidently they choose not to. I don't mind a friendly reminder if I've overlooked the bill and payment is due soon but several times a day weeks in advance....it's a load of sh*t!!

I *do* have DirecTV, but it's not even close to my billing/due date, nor do I have a past due balance.
So, *why* have been calling me 3-4 times a day for the past 2 days, I don't know.
Especially if they can't leave a message....Screw em'..I'm blocking this particular number.

i too get these calls. sad part is that i even had to give them my cell number.  they said because i had previously had service with them on my home number that they couldnt use it.  stupid.

anyway, i just ignore them and tell my wife the bill is due - she tells me she already paid it and we laugh at a corporateion making millions of our dollars delivering technology to us but cant keep their system from calling you when you are current.  imagine that.

i guess i am the only retard in this band of folk.  what in tarnations are they calling you?   i dont get the w***e bit.

I also have direct tv, I didnt answer the phone or have caller ID but I did *69 got there number. They didn't leave a message on my machine either. If I had known they did this kind of bad practice with there customers I would not have chosen them and now I am in a two year agreement. I also have DO NOT CALL on my phone I thought they couldnt get through on a DO NOT CALL. If they continue to harasse,I will report them also. Thank you as above for the "the w***e" message. First time they will do that it will be the last time.

Yes, DirectTV harasses you way before your bill is due ..It is very annoying and they take up time and money as they leave their UNKNOWN number on my cell phone ... sometimes they call several times in a day ..
They should be cited for this type of annoyance.

I do not, nor ever had, nor ever WILL....use DirecTV....they are morons!  I have repeatedly told them when they call EVERY day, that I'm not the person they are looking for.  They completely ignore me and continue to call.  I don't think I need to have to change my number in order to get rid of them...there MUST be something we (the public) can do to eliminate this constant harassment.

Received a call from them~ I didn't answer  because I didn't know the number.  I called back and the gentleman who answered was polite and identified himself immediately.  He looked at my account and didn't know why I had been called.  I don't have a past due balance, but he did say the company was marketing a movie package~ thought perhaps that was the reason for a call with no message.   I asked him to take my phone number off their internal marketing list and he assured me it was removed right then.  
This wasn't a bad experience and reminds me how fearful I have let unknown numbers make me... time to take charge of my phone and quit hiding!

Yes, it is Direct TV.  It is the Pittsburgh office and it is the billing and cutomer service department.  They were looking for someone else who, at one time in the past, had the same phone number.  My phone number is new, so they didn't know until I called them to correct it.   They took my number off their list and we'll see if they call back again.

Yes, this is Direct TV.  We do not have Direct TV but our phone number used to belong to someone who does.  They haven't had this number in over 18 months.  When I called Direct TV to follow up, someone with a very monotone voice and no personality, insincerely apologized and tried to hang up.  I asked her to mark the number as a wrong number but I'm doubting it will be done.

It's especially annoying since they called at 8:05 AM and I am a day sleeper!

They have been sued for billing people inproper amounts.They had to pay out lots of money.I think the early calls before bills are due are because they are hoping some one will pay early.They are in debt and need to call us to try to make there bills for the inproprer mistakes they have made.Is there a nother company we can switch to besides Dish?They both are as bad as the other.
