I've been getting calls daily for someone with the same last name but way different first name. It'sFMA Alliance, which is a collection agency. I have no credit problems whatsoever, but they want me to call this 800 number to "clear" my number if I am not the person being called. My wife thinks I should call them, but I am suspicious. I read that this outfit is noted for its scams. If their skip tracers are this poor at what they do, I don't trust them. Anyone can look up my phone number and address and reverse number find that I'm not the dude they are after. So am I right , or is my wife? Any input appreciated.

The FMA Alliance has been calling me for months asking for someone who does not and has never lived here. I continually tell them that they have the wrong number for that person, and that I am not that person, and have asked repeatedly that they take me off their list. They always say they will, but they don't. When they called last night and then again this morning (Sat. 8:45) I told them I was going to the Attorney General of Texas and Illinois to report them for harrassment. The supervisor got on the phone and said they would take me off their list. I have no faith that that will happen, so I will be writing the AGs. I demanded their address and they told me 12339 Cutting Road, Houston, TX 77060.

TOLL FREE doesn't get a response from me.

Beware - they ask you for your Social Secuirty number and refuse to identify themselves. I asked them repeatedly who they were and who they represent. They would not answer me and kept asking for my Social Security number. I wouldn't give it to them and explained that I will not give my Social Security number to anyone until I know who I'm speaking with. Their response was that I'd find out who they are *After* I give my Social. I hung up. They are suspicious.

I bought a new pay-as-you-go cell phone several months ago and suddenly these bozo's start calling me and asking for someone else. When I explained that it was a new phone number, they did not believe me and keep calling. They also call on 1-866-207-6903 and 1-877-251-9648. I now have more daily calls from these jokers than my friends. If this keeps up I am going to have to buy a different phone with a new number!
