I also get repeated calls from Comcast from this number claiming I never returned a modem. I have the receipt showing I returned all my equipment, have spent hours on the phone with them, and have even faxed this receipt to them but then months later the calls resume. I also think it is a scam.

I left comcast back in February. I bought my modem from best buy on 2100 South and 300 west where Comcast has a sales rep 24/4. This collection company or whatever the hell they are call me several times a month. I have told them the modem is mine. I have gone to a Comcast service center every month after this service calls and tell THEM that the modem is mine and if they want to give me a hundred bucks for it them I will give it back to them. I cannot be this hard for a company to figure out what is going on.

I have spent hours with Comcast about a modem. I tell them it has been turned in which it was but they cannot grasp that. a Comcast rep came too my house looking for it. I opened the door and sais come in and look. he did. on the way out he said I do not see any comcast equipment. I said the reason you don't it was all turned in. he said tell them I checked when I sopped by. telling them is like talking to a concrete wall. OH YES COMCAST STILL OWES ME MY MONEY..........

From Comcast.

It seems a little shady on behalf of Comcast to wait so long to collect making it less likely that the previous customer would still have the equipment causing them to have to pay for it.

I just received the same phone call at 9 this morning. The girl said I had to find the Comcast modem from over a year ago and take it to the nearest Comcast store or I would be charged about $130. I chatted with a Comcast Representative (below). Hope this helps . . .

Naomi & Luis: My Issue: I just received a phone call at 9 this morning from 801-203-4314. The girl said I had to find the Comcast modem from over a year ago and take it to the nearest Comcast store or I would be charged about $130.
Shayne: I'm glad to have you on chat.
Shayne: I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I would be more than happy to assist you on this concern.
Shayne: May I please know if you currently have a Comcast service?
Naomi & Luis: I'm with century link
Naomi & Luis: I was going to donate this modem along with a bunch of other junk to a thrift store tomorrow
Naomi & Luis: do you guys really want this modem back?
Naomi & Luis: or was this a scam
Naomi & Luis: or something
Shayne: To clarify, you still have the Comcast modem. Is that correct?
Naomi & Luis: yes
Naomi & Luis: why wouldn't comcast have asked for it when I ended services with them over a year ago?
Shayne: To set expectation, all Comcast equipments should be returned to the nearest local office to avoid charges on unreturned equipment.
Naomi & Luis: so is that what I should do with this modem?
Shayne: Yes, that is correct. If the modem you have now is from Comcast, I would suggest to return it to the nearest local office and please do not forget to get a receipt when you return the modem. This is to make sure that you will not be charged for unreturned equipment.
Naomi & Luis: very well then. thank you
Shayne: I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. However, thank you for contacting us on this concern for us to provide clarification on this matter to you.
Naomi & Luis: thanks
Shayne: You are welcome. It is my pleasure to assist you today.
Shayne: Is there anything else I can help you today? I would be more than happy to assist you further.
Naomi & Luis: no that's it

I am the night - and the night wants this harassment to stop because the night is trying to get some sleep during the day when this a** storm comes blowing through, gusting up the joint with its b***s*** like, "oh, return our equipment!" and "where is our equipment, Batman?"
I won't bat cave that easily, you scum.
Or am I the scum? I am having a bat-breakdown

Just received this phone call from this number, after reading the comments about this I see that it is Comcast calling for no god damned reason.

I received a call from this number, they left no message, & when I called back I was not familiar with the company. Thank you!

It's from Comcast, or someone calling on their behalf.

2013-05-06 @ 5:20PM:
A quick flurry of 3+ calls (abuse under the applicable statute?) came from this 801-203-4314 number (CID = "UTAH CALL") to a California landline on a Sunday.
Like 'sue', nobody here knows, or is polygamously married to, anyone in Utah. Unsurprisingly, no message was left.
Careful with this one: it might be a rogue telemarketer going solo, a desperate person acting erratically, and/or possibly a criminal scam (some fake church non-profits call on Sundays).

Didn't take it; don't recognize it and I don't know anyone in Utah
