Paid them in full for a debt owed to  golds gym last march, almost $1300. Now, 12 months later i'm receiving letters from a Bennett Law on behalf of checknet saying I never paid. I sent them copies of bank statement showing the payment last year and they still insist it is not paid. Anyone have a similar situation? Oh I also looked up th lawis Bennett Law in south Jordan UT, it does not look like a legitimate law firm and there are 38 complaints on them with the better business bureau.

They call me like twice in row every other day... I always get a 3 second voice mail of this dummy hanging up..... I think this is such spam and someone should investigate this and shut this number down. Its so annoying!!!!! ugh

I got a call at 6PM; didn't answer and whoever this is didn't leave a message.

I got a call today from someone named 'Cherry W', sounds like a load of crap to me, they didn't say who they were calling from, just that there was a problem with their company.

This number has been calling me quite a bit the last few days. They don't leave a message and they hang up before it even hits my voice mail. They've never even left a voicemail to call them back. I find it strang...I don't even live in Provo, Ut.

I too have found out they do collections for IHC medical bills.  They do not buy the debts so you can negotiate with IHC.  When I called the number she said they were CheckNet.  When you look them up there are two names connected to the company a Lacey C. and Jessica D. and they are at 746 E 1910 South in Provo.

I got a call from this number and searched the internet - it is indeed Checknet, a collection agency. But I can't think of any outstanding debts that I would have... The woman - Kim Tistol I think - that called didn't leave where she was calling from and said she had an URGENT matter.... whatever.

Unwanted calls

It's a company called Checknet or something like that.   I paid them for a small fee that workers comp didn't cover when they paid for my medical bills and didn't tell me about, so it ended up in collections.  However, the people who work there are complete dolts.  They ended up charging me twice, saying that the first payment was declined or some garbage, so I went ahead and gave them my info again.  Lo and behold a few days later that first payment goes through and my bank account is on hold for the second payment.  When I called they lied and told me the second payment would clear up on its own in a day or two.  I had to speak with two managers before they would issue a refund, which would take an additional four days to process.  I the meantime I'm left with no money, overdraft fees with my bank, and late payment fees for my bills that I can't pay.  So while they are a genuine collection agency, if you owe them money you need to be extremely careful when dealing with them.  They aren't fraudulent, just inadequate.

Received a call from this number, didn't recognize it so let it go to voice mail. Some one named Peggy telling me to call her back. I don't respond if they don't tell me who they're with and what the call is regarding. Basic phone etiquette, I miss it.

Someone from this number called me at work and left a message to call him.  Did not say where he was calling from.  Said his name was Kevin.  Has done this several times.  He never indicates in the message why he is calling.

You might want to call them back. If someone says you owe money, there may be identity theft involved. ??

I believe this is a collection agency.  I have had two calls.  On the second call a man left a message to call him, said he had left several messages, but that is a lie, said his name was Adam West and did not leave the name of the company he represents. I did not return the call as I do not owe anyone.

Number called yesterday, didn't leave a message.  Also call from 223-9988 today, reverse lookup says they are both from the Provo UT area
